The place is connected to a gas station, but don't let that fool you ! the food is incredible! We ordered both beef and chicken shawarma. The portion sizes were broken g and great, and the flavor was absolutely juicy yummy and delicious. Although the garlic sauce was a bit heavy for me, but still tasty The fries are one of my favorite. They were perfectly crispy and you can tell they fry them really well. Prices are very reasonable, and even though the order took a little time, it was definitely worth the waite. The place is small, but it's a hidden gem that deserves a visit. I also liked that there's a mini pantry connected to it. a fun little bonus! read more

I LOVE a good shawarma. It's one of my favorite sandwiches. So when I drove past a place called "Shawarma Shop", I was really excited. I said "Shawarma is in their name... it's next to a gas station... I bet this place makes a good shawarma". I was sorely disappointed. The chicken did not appear to be cut from a spit. If it was, it was not cut immediately because it was sitting in a chafing dish. Because of this, the meat was very dry and lacked flavor/seasoning. The garlic sauce made up for the lack of flavor by overcompensating; it was the most potent garlic sauce I've ever had. I don't mind some lettuce in my shawarma sandwich, but there was a lot of lettuce, which bulked it up. The pickles were right, at least. The balance of the sandwich was all off and all I tasted was garlic. Fries were pretty good, but they were over-seasoned. Service was fast and friendly. Price was fine but I can get a much better shawarma sandwich elsewhere for less. Overall, I was not impressed and will not likely return. It's the next day and two tooth brushings and I still have a strong flavor of garlic in my mouth... yuck. (Hamido in Dearborn has an amazing shawarma for 25% less; totally worth the drive!) read more

I came to try this place after receiving many recommendations from fellow foodies. It's worth the hype! I was told that they were out of beef shawarma, so I ordered the kaftha reluctantly. It was fabulous! Tabbouleh is very fresh and perfect. Hummous and Babba were great, but much more oil garnish than I'm used to. Great pita and generous amount. My new favorite thing is a food counter attached to a gas station- unassuming but righteous. Menu doesn't show which items are gluten free, but the staff is very knowledgeable about steering you to safe items. (The rice is gf safe). Chicken shawarma bowl was HUGE and delicious, the handwritten specials board looks promising. Yum! read more

You may think to yourself, "I don't need to get the combo." Which is exactly what my husband did when I put in our order. But one bite of those fries and you'll be kicking yourself (also what my husband did). Because they're that good. Hot, cripsy, and tossed in the most deletable seasoning. I could just eat those fries for a meal and be more than happy. But of course I also got a chicken shawarma sandwich and it was also fantastic. It's packed with plenty of juicy chicken, pickles, and their delicious garlic sauce. Generously portioned and reasonably priced to boot! We got delivery and I was impressed that the fries arrived crispy since a lot of the time they get soggy in transport (it's just physics, man. heat in a closed container = condensation. Not a businesses' fault) but this time our delivery was speedy enough that it didn't really impact it and I am forever grateful because these fries made my day. read more

Shawarma sandwiches are very good here - very filling, fresh, and tasty garlic/pickles (I usually order extra). The kafta sandwich was also very good. However, the hummus was not very flavorful and the tabbouli was way too salty for me to eat (big fat bummer, since tabbouli is my thing.) The dogs did like the leftover hummus though, so I guess it wasn't a total loss. :) Overall good place to get lunch/dinner... prices good and friendly owners. Not much parking, but generally do carry out. The place itself is attached to a gas station, so don't expect much in the way of ambiance. ;) Definitely my go-to when I need a quick lunch carry out. read more

First time here. I ordered the falafel deluxe sandwich (falafel, hummus, and tabooli) for $8.49. It is cooked to order so I had to wait. It was past lunchtime but the place was still busy. It looked like one person cooks and one person packs. There is one table for two and the rest of the seating is bistro seating (high top seating facing the parking lot). When my sandwich was ready and the woman handed it to me, my first thought was - that's it? Second thought - overpriced. I still couldn't wait to try it. The wrap was soft and fresh. The falafel tasted ok but it wasn't crispy. I barely noticed the hummus. The tabooli was good but there wasn't much of it. I know this place isn't called Falafel Shop, but I still had high expectations. Won't be back. read more

Fattoush Salad. Perfect Pita crisps with a hint of...honey? I would love them just to have on hand to snack on. This salad is huge and delicious. The fries came hot as I have ever gotten from delivery. I was a tad disappointed because there wasn't any of the seasoning I read about in other reviews. They were still really, really good so I won't hold that as a negative. And now the chicken shawarma sandwich was A-mazing! Just like others have said. Can I give 10 stars? Size: Their falafel is 5 times larger than other restaurants in the area. Quality: their falafel is always fresh out of the fryer. They fry to order. They refuse to sell you cold falafel. This means you have to wait longer, but it's worth it. Service and Kindness: Twice while waiting for my food, they offered me snacks. One time they gave baklava and today they gave me falafel. Very generous and kind. Oh wait. One last thing. I love it. I've never seen an establishment with ALL 5-star reviews. Well earned! If you think that great middle Eastern food doesn't come from a restaurant attached to a gas station.... Let go of that notion right now. Here are my faves... Greek salad, fattoush , lentil soup, hummus, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, shawarma, kafka, garlic(!), baklava. Next time... grape leaves, falafel... This is connected to the Shell gas station so decided to get some food after filling up gas. Quite a few folks were in line so I figured it was at least decent and I haven't had Lebanese food in a long time. I ordered a falafel deluxe which had falafel that was freshly fried with tabuleh and hummus. The tabuleh had crisp fresh veggies that was so refreshing on a hot day. There was a smear of hummus that kept everything stuck together but not excessive and overflowing. The falafel was warm with golden crust and seasoned well - not too salty! Seriously some of the best falafel I've ever had - will make sure I stop by when I'm in town! Shawarma Shop has taken the spot over from the Pita Pan chain (though the old sign needs to come down).  I read about the new place in the Ann Arbor Observer and made a mental note that I needed to check it out. I am so glad we made it over here! Though I was craving fried kibbe footballs (and subsequently finding out that they sadly do not have them on the menu here), I chose the beautiful and delicious beef kafta (as in "you hafta eat this") sandwich. It was loaded with red onions, parsley, yogurt sauce, pickles and tomatoes. The meat was homemade with not too much seasoning. It really was just right. It wasn't soggy and messy and leaking all over me in my car seat, which is a rare treat around here. The hummus was rich with sesame tahini flavor, a bit more than you get from grocery store hummus but I like it. It was nutty tasting and smooth...the kind of smooth you only get from popping those skins off the chi chi beans (chickpeas but my Lebanese Grandpa called them chi chi beans and we always call things what he did around here!) before blending them in the food processor. It came with 4 or 5 entire loaves of the big, chewy syrian bread (not pita! Grandpa forbid us to call it that), from one of many excellent bakeries in Dearborn, I am sure. It is topped with a tidy pool of olive oil and a dash of sumac to make it pretty. The vegetarian stuffed grape leaves are good but they are very soft. You probably should use a fork for these guys. They were full of rice and various finely chopped vegetables and were mildly seasoned. I just wish they had more bite like they do when the leaves are fresh, not jarred. But that's just me. I'll eat them like this, too, of course. They are quite filling on their own, despite being considered an appetizer. The rice pilaf was buttery and nice, with slivered almonds and vermicelli. This is pure Lebanese comfort food right here. It comes with a little container of a tomato-based sauce but it's good on its own. All in all, I highly recommend this place over similar shops in the area. The prices are fair and the service is fast. Gonna come back and try everything in its turn...not the baba, though. I never liked it! I just wish there was kibbe.....or koosa..... read more

Just walked in, did not order ahead. I was able to place my order right away and took advantage of the stools while my food was prepared fresh. Got the chicken shawarma combo which was fantastic. Chicken was tender and tasty, paired with crunchy pickles and garlic sauce on a soft stretchy pita. I got the salad with the combo which was also super fresh and enough for at least two. They have good chicken shawarma sandwiches. I stopped going here because the past 5 times I called in my order and they said 15 minutes. I showed up 20 minutes later, and I still had to wait 10-15 minutes. I think they are understaffed and don't know how to prioritize call-in orders. read more
