I recently called in a catering order from this Al Ameer location for my daughter's birthday party. Apologies for not having pictures of the food, but the staff handled my order perfectly and the portions were quite fair. We ordered a variety of kabobs, fried kibbe, fattoush, hummus, chicken tenders, potato balls and more. Everything was delicious, nothing tasted overcooked or dry, and my family was very satisfied. Al Ameer had a location in Canton many years ago that failed miserably due to poor service and underwhelming food. I'm hoping this new version learns from the past mistakes and stays around a little longer

This is mostly a take out place. Had a couple shawarmas, a land and a chicken and was not impressed with either. The hummus appetizer with beef was amazing though. It's not on the menu you have to ask for it special!!!!!

Amazing food! Fast service and beautiful location. Today I only got a few items, some appetizers and a smoothie. The other day we had the boneless chicken meal. The food is always top notch. The potatoes, cheese bread and hummus are my favorite . The salads, chicken dishes and rice are also phenomenal. So glad they are local in Canton!

So much good food! I stopped in the Canton location (definitely more of a take out vibe than a dine in vibe, though they do have seating inside for some casual dining). I ordered the Al Ameer platter, with yellow rice and tabbouli as the sides, plus the Sujuk sampler and a medium hummus. The platter was listed as "for 2" but it was huuuge! Definitely going to be enjoying the leftovers. The medium hummus was also really big. Good value for these large portion sizes! All of this also came with a large bag full of pita bread, garlic sauces (yum), tahini sauce, and a tiny thing of olive oil for (I assume) drizzling over the hummus. Also was very tasty, though we did eat reheated instead of fresh (as I picked this up mid afternoon for a later dinner). I think maybe some of the meat dried out a little bit in the microwave. All in all though, good food, generous portions.

Food was good but the staff was rude and unhelpful when they did not give a food item that was charged to the credit card. The staff gave different answers ranging from we are out of it, to we don't have it, to you ordered from door dash and would not rectify the problem. I ordered through their website (they now say it was doordash). The receipt and order process through their website does NOT identify doordash in any way. I do not use doordash. The food wasn't bad but the customer service was poor. Will not go back. Average food is too easy to find elsewhere.

Menu. We came for breakfast. It was delicious.

This place is more for lunch and a quick pick up on the go. Their other locations are sit down and are more relax environment. Still nicely decorated, I appreciate h learn it was as well as the bathrooms. We went during Christmas day. Everything was delicious.

Parking spaces were ample as the neighboring businesses weren't busy at all during this holiday week. The inside was not ornately decorated as some of the fancier places in the area that serve this type of cuisine. Between the booths and tables, my estimate was that the seating capacity was around 50 customers. The menu booklet contained several pages of offerings across the categories of appetizers, soups, salads, sides, wraps/subs, traditional dishes, and seafood/chops. For beverages, there were juices, smoothies, coffee, tea, and soft drinks. My friends each chose a different type of wrap for their meal. I picked one of the entrees from the traditional dishes which was the Gallaba over Hummus. In my hometown, I don't see gallaba as often as items like shish kabobs and shawarma. My order consisted of a choice of meat (lamb was my pick) sauteed with green peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, and carrots with special spices added. The mixture was served on a bed of hummus with my choice of rice on the side. A cup of chicken rice soup (instead of lentil) also came with this traditional dish. While we were waiting for our food, a basket of warm pita bread and a cup of garlic spread were provided. The spread was very pungent so I used it sparingly. An extra dinner salad was mistakenly added which I saved for leftovers. The gallaba was essentially a Middle Eastern version of a meat stir fry. The pieces of lamb were tender and not gamey. The spices added flavor but not saltiness. Between the bread, soup, rice, and gallaba, it was a generous portion size that also became leftovers for later. For the quality and price of my meal, I gave a four star rating for our visit to The Sheikh Restaurant.

The food is even better than its predecessor in the same location. In my opinion, it has the best fahsah (even better than another Canton location or their Dearborn twin restaurant). More flavor, more meat, and a tastier crunchier bread to go with it. The other options have more variety than many other places. I like the broiled chicken, the chicken shawarma, shawarma combo... tons of delicious options. I can't stop thinking about the fahsah, though. It's a "stick in your mind forever" kind of dish, especially the way they prepare it here. The appetizers (Kibbee, Ghanouj, Hummus, Spicy Potatoes) were all fantastic. Careful with the veggie grape leaves, though! They tasted like a pile of bitter lemon and were a bit tough to eat - only bad thing I've ever had here. One of the biggest improvements over the restaurant that was here before is the service. Previously, we went and felt ignored as the servers left water cups empty and didn't bring parts of our meal and chatted with their friends - the service was terrible. This new restaurant, with a different menu but with some familiar items, doesn't share the same fate - the team members here are attentive, and friendly, and the place feels cleaner and more well-kept. I highly recommend going to Al-Jannah. Did I mention the fahsah enough times yet? :)

Shawarma, is a Mediterranean street food that originated in the Middle East, and is extremely popular Egypt, Lebanon, and Iraq to name a few places on the map. With the migration of people from these countries to Michigan over the past few decades, it was only natural they would bring along their delicious cuisine. If you're looking for great shawarma, but don't want to drive down to Dearborn from the western suburbs with the price of gas at all-time record highs, then My Shawarma located on M-153 in Canton won't disappoint you in the least. They offer great kabobs, pitas, and subs that will make you a loyal fan in a heartbeat. However, if you're like me, you'll love to tray on their combo meals.
