I highly recommend Dr. O'Berry! For years, I suffered from unexplained tooth pain under an old filling. Dentists in both the US and Hong Kong couldn't find the issue. Three months ago, Dr. O'Berry removed the old filling and used his microscope to find deep cracks coming from all four directions. He spent over three hours patiently and skillfully removing the damage. Because the cracks were so deep, the tooth eventually needed a root canal to completely resolve the nerve pain. I started as Dr. O'Berry's patient last year for a routine dental cleaning. He took the time to do a complete and thorough checkup on my teeth and notified me of cavities that were developing in 8 of my lower molars. Knowing my status as a student, he wasn't pushy on any of the procedures and coordinated the appointments so that I can maximize my insurance usage and minimize my out of pocket costs. As of September 2023, I was able to get Dr. O'Berry's biomimetic fillings on all 8 of my affected teeth and I can say that it is a very satisfactory experience. Dr. O'Berry is the epitope of a dentist taking advantage of the patient. He ripped off my entire family for services not rendered. My dad being charged for a crown when he received a "buildup". Months later, he needed a crown because the buildup on the same tooth popped off. Insurance wouldn't cover the crown, since he initially billed for a crown. He additionally charged my sister a service she paid for multiple occasions. This also happened to me with a 6-month cleaning-- he called me saying I never paid for my service months later AFTER I paid in full. He is a scam, taking advantage of low-income people. A disgrace to humanity. Please find someone else in your best interest... or keep all your receipts/bank statements and follow up with insurance before accepting his billing plans- because he will lie to insurance companies and lie to YOU!!! After an awful experience with another dentist, who wanted to charge us thousands of dollars and do unnecessary procedures to fix a broken front tooth, we were referred to Shawn O'Berry. We went to visit Mr. O'Berry who was able to get us in within days, he was professional and honest and he really knew what he was doing and the procedure to fix a broken front tooth. He is so kind to her.....he jokes with her in just the perfect way to make her feel at ease and then he gives her excellent dental care. She tells me he is very gentle and careful not to hurt her. I contacted Dr. O'Berry when the side of my back molar broke off. I was concerned about going to a dentist during COVID since you obviously can't wear a mask and are in close proximity to the other person. I shared my concerns with Dr. O'Berry, and he was SO accommodating with all of my requests so that I would be comfortable coming in to have him work on my tooth. So, he gets an A+ for not treating me like I was a crazy person. My second concern was whether or not he would be able to save my tooth since it broke off at the gumline. Dr. O'Berry did a Zoom video call with me and patiently walked me through an explanation and drawing of what he would be doing to save my tooth. I went in the day of my appointment and everything went as planned (except we didn't expect that he would find decay in the tooth that also needed to be removed, but with his super microscope and handy laser detector, he was able to get out all of the decay and rebuild my tooth). So, another A+ for Dr. O'Berry on his work! His receptionist (Ruby) has also been wonderful to work with, so an A+ for her, too! :) I will be back for future dental work for myself and my children.
