Most amazing dentist one can find. I have had such an amazing experience over the years. Their staff is awesome and so personable. Each employee is professional and friendly. I had a work accident where I broke my front teeth and I got in with Dr. Larijani and he went right to work and made magic happen for temporary teeth so I didn't have to suffer and experience a day without great looking teeth. Following that great treatment and experience, I have gone through the entire process of veneers. Stage make a temporary set of teeth, which many people complimented me on! Stage 2 prepare teeth for veneers, and they were so accommodating and thoughtful of me as the patient during this process. Stage 3 veneers, which they were always so eager to listen and make the necessary adjustments during this process. The veneers look so naturally awesome which is all I cared about. UPSELL, UPSELL, UPSELL! I've lived in Dana Point for 17 years and decided to try Dr. Cifarelli after my trusted dentist of 20+ years retired--big mistake. The office is modern and clean, but the entire experience felt like a sales pitch. Even though she's in-network, I was charged out of pocket for a cleaning and was never told the "special antibacterial mouthwash" would cost $190 until after. When I asked for my X-rays, the receptionist questioned if I was getting a second opinion. They also pushed unnecessary out-of-pocket procedures and recommended cleanings every 3 months, even though my insurance clearly covers every 6. I do not trust that this office is looking out for patients' best interests. Patient care takes a back seat to upselling here--I will not be back. read more

Shame on them! Long, long time patient. Never trusted the care by the ever changing dentist (except one whose name wasn't on the marquee, years ago) only continued because we found the hygienist was good. So we "put up" with the "you need ....." BS Rarely did we consider their recommendations. Insurance! If they're not drilling they're not billing! My hubby likes to say. You make appointments 6 months in advance. They have canceled me day of TWICE in the past 18 months! WHY????? Schedule problems!!! REALLY????? What good is waiting 6 months to get cancelled and ABSOLUTELY NO ACCOMMODATION. Offered another option late January!! With a different hygienist. NO! Not why we even bother with this office. I ask anyone looking for an excellent dentist to STOP and read this review. My mother is 88 years old and was in a Japanese prison camp during WWII for almost 3 years as a young child. After they were released, everyone received dental services at a military facility which resulted in PTSD. Recently, my mother heard that she needed two new crowns. This was very overwhelming for her, and she did not sleep prior to the initial and subsequent appointments. So many bad memories... Upon arrival, Dr. Larijani made sure she had food in her stomach and offered OTC pain reliever which she took and did not think of doing herself for which she was grateful for his courtesy. His continued caring and thoughtful bedside manner was clearly from someone that cares deeply about his patients. My mother stated on the phone, "Dr. Larijani is part psychiatrist and counselor. Nothing he did ever hurt me. I worried so much and lost sleep over nothing." He went one step further by calling my mom directly the next day to check on her himself. So impressive. I live in a different state, and it gives me so much peace of mind that my mother had such a good experience. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Dr. Larijani! read more

What can I say about DP Dental that hasn't already been said? They are truly the best among any medical/dental/customer experience I've ever had. If the DMV was this nice I'd renew my auto registration in person! I have been coming here for probably 10 years now, maybe a little longer, and it's always a joy. They are extremely thorough, clean, professional and pleasant to interact with. They put up with my quirky sense of humor and I always leave looking forward to my next visit. I've had fillings replaced and broken teeth fixed as well as my usual cleaning visits. I also wear a nightguard now and it's been a big help in reducing my tooth sensitivity and wearing down of my teeth from nighttime grinding. I recommend this dentist to literally all of my friends and anyone who happens to be talking about dentistry in my presence! Seriously. I've been going to Dana Point Dental for the past 2 years after moving down to Irvine for work. The whole experience has been amazing. On my first visit, Dr. Vashi gave me a thorough initial exam and gave me tips on where to focus when caring for my teeth. He also noticed that I had 2 wisdom teeth I had postponed removing for 20 years, mostly out of fear of the process and recovery. He showed me the damage it was causing and how hard it was to clean there so I agreed to have them removed. Just to note, another dentist cracked, shaved, yanked my wisdom teeth for 4 hours the last time I had an impacted wisdom tooth removed. This time, Dana Point's oral surgeon inspected my teeth and called my wisdom teeth some of the biggest on the rating scale. He said they would be a beast to remove so I mentally prepared for a long and painful procedure. However, in less than 20 minutes he finished and I was off to get instructions on how to recover. If 20 minutes counts as a beast, I can't imagine how efficient other procedures would be. It's a first rate experience at Dana Point and they're very focused on the customer experience, so I highly recommend them. read more

Although the dentist was very nice, this is purely a business focused on making money. Everything has a surcharge on it, and work that is not needed is done. Beware, your insurance will not pay for it because it wasn't necessary. I have several pieces of evidence on that. I have been going to Dr. Cifarelly for about 8 years and she is amazing! she is so knowledgeable and her small feminine hands make it so easy to do dentistry. I had a difficult surgery on thursday and she did such a great job and I didn't even need pain medication after she cut the skin to get up under my bridge for a root canal. I love all the staff at Dana Point Dental group. My whole family goes there and we are all so happy with then. Being a person who has extreme concerns about dentist, not just any will do. I feel the entire office is just as important as the dentist. Here at Dana Point Dental, the marks are all good. Jennifer and the office staff great and they greet you with warm smiles and see to you promptly. They come to know you after a few visits and genuinely care when they ask how are things. I get my teeth cleaned by Shannon. Shannon has a great 'seat side' manner and knows I can get extremely uncomfortable. She is always engaging and making sure I am comfortable. This helps me relax so much, I sometimes fall asleep.. haha. She helps me understand the intricacies of my gum health and expresses to me the concerns and or actions I can take, to help my overall dental hygiene. Dr. Cifarelli is an amazing dentist. Always engaging, kind and considerate. She is fast in her work and thorough. She also has an astounding level of awareness and is always making sure I am calm, cool and collected. I have had some minor procedures done; cavities filled, crowns. She is good at assessing damage and making poignant decision based on those observations. Never had a root canal, saved most of the tooth (saving me from extra discomfort ). Please give this group a shot. I never really had too many anxieties about going to the dentist, however I have experienced bad bedside manner, potential misdiagnosis, and opportunistic taking advantage of my health in order to pay a higher rate. None of these things are found at Dana Point Dental. I positively love my hygienist! I see her every 6-months and its like a really cool progress snapshot with her and I. Despite seeing each other only twice a year, she remembers my stories and things that are important to me. We even discuss holistic alternatives and the science behind teeth and oral health. My dentist is also a hoot! Real talk and reliability are themes that I experience every time I see her once a year. Warning *** I am from Utah and got spoiled by a great dentist*** I just need to start by saying the front office staff are WONDERFUL. Crazy nice and professional. The stars are for them. They get 4 stars. I would use this office for cosmetic dentistry only! It is what they care about so it is what they focus on. They want you to get the upgrades! They do not listen to or focus on what is important. I had serious deja vu it was like being with my dad at Bargain Ben's Car Barn in 1980. Why I am leaving this review: 1- have had 2 "deep cleans". I'm 40 years old. I have had 80+ cleaning in my life that were all this good or better. Is a cleaning "deep" because you say so? Our conversation was even shallow. Is it because I will be digging deep into my wallet? 2- Broken promises. So busy trying to get me to spend my money they didn't pay attention to the lies they were telling. Dr. C isn't magic...? What? They promised me something EVERY other dentist over the past 20 years has told me is impossible and then got defensive and blamed me when it didn't work! Crazy! Turns out.. a fake yellow tooth from 1980 will always be yellow. No matter how much zoom and filler and fairy dust you throw at it. And, if you make the client feel like they are stupid for believing you, maybe they will break down and just replace all their teeth with veneers on their way to getting a boob job.
