I didn't know that laser dentistry existed until my last appointment for a filling with Dr…read more Scheiderich. As usual, he is very up to date with the latest technology! To say the least, I was amazed with his latest laser equipment! There was no shot to numb the area (hooray!) which meant no waiting for the numbness to take effect and no waiting for the dentist to return. Within minutes after Dr. Scheiderich entered the room, he had finish removing the cavity, removed all the bacteria in the cavity area via the laser, and was already filling the cavity! Unlike some other dentists that I've been to, he is always very willing to take time and explain things and answer any questions I might have. During our conversation that day, he mentioned that the laser can also be used for extractions! Good to know since I've always dreaded having a tooth pulled! The laser does make a clicking noise ... kind of like a gas stove igniter ... but that minor sound is well worth not having to have an injection and dealing with the feeling of a fat lip for the rest of the day, not to mention the time savings! I just had my wisdom teeth extracted today at Asheville Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Since a…read morechild I have always been extremely afraid of doctor visits, especially needles. Today's surgery was a huge accomplishment for me and will set a better tone for future medical procedures. My initial consultation with Dr. Hussain went very well. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and I left feeling confident enough to schedule my surgery. On surgery day I was extremely nervous, extremely. Off the bat the receptionists calmed my nerves with their sweet smiles and affirmations. The technician/surgeons assistant, Emily guided me to the surgery room and got me all set up.She described every step which helps so much so that I knew what to expect. She was very kind and thoughtful. She is great at her job and I wish her the best in her medical career. A few other people passed through who very also very kind and helped to lighten the mood. Dr. Hussain came in to start surgery and talked me through things to help calm me. Before you know it I was knocked out and didn't even know it. Emily rolled me out to our car and now I am home recovering. I feel great and am going to take all the recommended steps to recover well. I hope this helps anyone with anxiety around this sort of thing. The staff and doctors are wonderful. Thank you. I forgot to mention the environment is very homey, comfortable, welcoming and smells clean and wonderful which always helps!

First, thanks to Helene, I had to reschedule my appointment to Halloween. I wore my Halloween shirt, but was not prepared for most of the HFD staff dressing up, too! It was fabulous! Second, my dental hygienist ~ Marlee ~ is a total rockstar!!! I can't say enough wonderful things about her! I've never had such a great experience! She was thorough & professional, while still maintaining a personable manner! Great sense of humor! Third, Dr. Ashton was also pretty terrific, in spite of the fact that he's missing a rib. He is very knowledgeable, as well as personable. Sadly, he was not wearing a costume, so I did judge him a bit. ;-) He gave me options as far as future treatments were concerned, and I appreciated that he was suggesting, not ordering. The overall experience was a TOTAL A+, a 14.72 out of 10, and totally off the charts wonderful! If you've had bad experiences in the past, it's time to change to Hendersonville Family Dental.
