Ordered the 4pc to-go and the chicken was fresh and juicy even eating it 25mins later! The skin was crispy and not too oily. One thing that is special about Shawn's fried chicken is that they remove most of the bones in the chicken thigh so there was so much meat and it was easy to eat. The spicy chicken has Chinese style spice powder on the outside. Overall a great alternative on par with getting Church's Chicken or Jollibee but with a Chinese twist.

Juiciest Chinese Fried Chicken in Richmond. Their chicken is a well-known specialty snack that started in Beijing in the 1990s. What sets them apart from other places is that they marinate with 20+ different Chinese herbs to remove the smell of meat, enhance the flavor, and add extra moisture before deep frying. You can taste the distinct flavour & can get it spicy if you prefer. I tried some of their food: - Axe Chicken, Spicy $9.95 - 3 PS Chicken $14.95 - Fried Chicken Wings, Spicy, 3PS $9.95 - Chicken Burger $8.75 - Popcorn Chicken, Plum Sweet $4.95 - Regular fries $3.95 - Yam fries $5.95 - Plum juice $3.75 - Lemonade $3.75 It's a worthwhile fried chicken spot to check out! My fave items were the Chicken burger and Axe chicken.

Got a chance to visit Shawn's chicken located in Richmond! Located next to the empire centre this little plaza has everything from parking, to grocery stores. Shawn's chicken is a hidden gem to me because who knew such a delicious fried chicken store was right in this plaza! It's close by to Parker place and within walking distance of Aberdeen centre! Their famous bigger than your face fried chicken leg lives up to the standard, this place does not disappoint! The huge portion of chicken and wings made me so full and wanting more, I'll definitely be back. surprisingly, they are open till 1am (except closed on Tuesdays) to satisfy your needs. Here are some of the things I tried: -AXE chicken (super huge definitely recommend) -chicken wings spicy (whole winglet is fried!) -2 piece chicken leg original (so juicy and tender!) -1 piece chicken thigh (spicy like sichuan pepper that is available for burgers!) -popcorn chicken (plum sweet is so good but there's original and spicy option too) -French fries and yam fries (yam fries are super soft) -plum juice (more on the sweet side) and lemonade soda (very refreshing and sparkling, carbonated drink!)

What's cool about Shawn's place is they've got loads of choices. I tried the Axe Chicken Combo, Chicken Burger Combo, Chick Wings, and Chicken Popcorn. Each was a whole new flavor adventure. And having Plum Juice and Lemonade with the food? Perfect combo! Those drinks just made everything taste even better. This location is just a takeout place, their service was really fast. We got our order ready within a couple of mins. Overall, it was an amazing experience!

We're about making healthier choices, usually steering clear of deep-fried chicken skin. But get ready for ' to change the game! Nestled in a cozy corner at Empire Center in Richmond, this gem hails straight from the heart of Beijing, known as (永顺炸鸡). Here's the secret: they marinate their chicken with over 20 different Chinese herbs. This not only banishes any meaty odours but also elevates the flavour and adds a burst of moisture before taking a crispy plunge into the fryer. Prepare to be amazed - the skin is incredibly crispy (yet not oily), and the meat stays tender. We're used to ordering KFC for parties or movie nights, but now, we're considering replacing it with CFC - Chinese Fried Chicken! We indulged in their Family Pack and their Fried Chicken Wings, opting for half and half (half original and half spicy). The spicy option is a must-try for spice lovers (on the milder side), but the original is just as great, letting the chicken flavour shine through. To wash it down, we paired our meal with plum soda (slightly too sweet for our taste), but it's a unique twist to try with CFC. Trust us; Shawn's Chicken is a crispy revelation you don't want to miss! Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: Eatery Kids: 4/5 Yay! They have a non-spicy flavour. Presentation: Parking: Tips: * accepts online ordering at shawnschicken.ca * can order original, spicy, or half-and-half flavour. * stay open late. Late-night cravings? No worries! * have 4-seat bar bench or outdoor options. * cook fresh and hot, wait time 10-15 mins - TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT! Would I Return: Yes ‍

This place is hidden in a corner near Parker Place. It only has bar seating that can accommodate 7 people. We came around 9:30 pm and unfortunately all the chicken pieces were sold out except the Axe Chicken, chicken burgers and popcorn chicken. We ordered the original Axe Chicken which was an oversized serving, Sichuan Pepper Burger, Spicy Burger, fries, and Spicy Popcorn Chicken. We ate there. The Axe Chicken was soooo juicy and it had super crispy and crunchy skin. The burgers were the same, just delicious and freshly cooked! Our orders took 15 minutes but it was worth it. The fries were good too. I'm glad we found this place. We used to go to Church's chicken but the quality of their chicken is the worst now so I'm glad we discovered Shawn's Chicken!! And Shawn's Chicken is open until 12 am! They also accept credit cards! A must try.

Spicy flats and 3-pc meal combo with fries

The drumsticks and the flats are juicy and tender. Both original and spicy flavors are perfectly balanced.

Saw this place on yelp had a layover and decided to hop on the train to come and try. If you are a real fried chicken lover I Would not recommend. The chicken was not cleaned properly had wayyy too much batter and it wasn't thoroughly cooked.

Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.

Long lines at both the Yaohan and Henderson Mall locations speak to how popular it is, and the pricing sits in the affordable range for generous, full-meal plates rather than snack-sized portions. The overall value proposition is strong: you get real-deal HK café flavours without feeling like corners were cut. Dishes come out fast and hot, and the kitchen does not skimp on proteins--whether it's pork chops, chicken, or beef, plates feel properly loaded rather than padded with carbs. Despite the crowds, service is efficient and geared toward turnover, which suits the food court setting and keeps waits manageable once you've actually ordered. It's the kind of place where you grab your tray, sit, and eat rather than linger, but it delivers exactly what you come for. Given the combination of flavour, portion size, and price, Cha Don is an easy recommend for Hong Kong café fans looking for a quick, satisfying meal. The only real downside is the lineup; at peak times the queue can be enough to make you think twice. Still, if the line isn't too long, it's absolutely worth returning for another round.

Cha Don has only been opened in Henderson Mall for 2 weeks and the line is insane. (Even went back a month later and it's still ridiculous.) Most of the dishes are under $16 but some of the items are not available till after 11:30. That's includes the baked rice dish and spaghetti and the minced pork patty rice series. This will quicken up the long time for those breakfast goers but sucks if you're craving either of those. So the first time I had gone, there were lots of mistakes in orders and the long lines. There was also a sign in front of the cashier stating that they will only take CASH or E-TRANSFER...So be prepared! By the look at more recent reviews, it seems like they're still working out the kinks and the line is still 30-45 minutes. Maybe by this spring they'll figure it out? It does have anchor tenants at all sides, so remember where you come in from. What I appreciate about this mall is the prices at the food court. I'm not sure if there is an agreement or something, but most of the food operators have at least a couple of items under $10, making it very affordable. Some even sell coffee or tea at under $2. You do see many elderly Asians here, maybe that's why there is cheaper options? They do occupy the tables at the food court chatting for a long period of time. Think of this as another version of Timmies, but with more food options. I was told the T&T here is the largest and it is busy at all hours. The parking area near it is always full.
