Great food, excellent portions too! The long line ups are a tell tale sign of this as well. This was the pork cutlet with curry and look how massive it was. I ended up having to pack it away for two meals

Cha Don is a Hong Kong-style café concept that nails the casual cha chaan teng experience with legit flavour and sharp value, especially for a food court operation. Long lines at both the Yaohan and Henderson Mall locations speak to how popular it is, and the pricing sits in the affordable range for generous, full-meal plates rather than snack-sized portions. The overall value proposition is strong: you get real-deal HK café flavours without feeling like corners were cut. Dishes come out fast and hot, and the kitchen does not skimp on proteins--whether it's pork chops, chicken, or beef, plates feel properly loaded rather than padded with carbs. Despite the crowds, service is efficient and geared toward turnover, which suits the food court setting and keeps waits manageable once you've actually ordered. It's the kind of place where you grab your tray, sit, and eat rather than linger, but it delivers exactly what you come for. Given the combination of flavour, portion size, and price, Cha Don is an easy recommend for Hong Kong café fans looking for a quick, satisfying meal. The only real downside is the lineup; at peak times the queue can be enough to make you think twice. Still, if the line isn't too long, it's absolutely worth returning for another round.

Toast and scrambled eggs, which was runny and creamy!

Cha Don in Henderson in Coquitlam delivers. We got the breakfast set and it was a ton of food for just $14. We got a fried pork cutlet, tartar sauce, potato salad, fried sausage, scrambled egg, hash brown, and toast. What a spread! We went on its opening weekend so the wait was 30 minutes. But once we ordered, it only took another 6-8 minutes for the food to be ready. Just keep in mind they are cash only or they accept e-transfer. There was a lot of available seating at the food court and lots of parking at the rooftop. We plan to come back and try other items on the menu.

Cha Don hits the mark with delicious Cantonese comfort food. Price points are reasonable (and some a deal!). It's located in the food court of Yaohan Centre. Look for the lineup-the only one with a consistent long line. Once your order is place, a plastic alert disk is given. When it lights up, then your order is read for pick up at the counter. Self serve for utensils on the right side. Menu is the classic Cha chaan teng breakfast, noodles soups, French Toast, fried rice and fried noodles. I had the breakfast combo of noodles in soup with fried chicken and my friend had the meat sauce with rice. Both were absolutely delicious. Their rice is cooked to perfection. Probably the best bowl of plain rice I have eaten in a very long time and it will drive me back to Cha Don. I now know why this place is so popular. I'm a fan!

I guess this is one of the newer stalls at Yaohan Centre good court. For someone who misses HK style food, of course I had to give it a try. I ended up ordering the satay beef vermicelli and baked tomato pork chop rice. The service was alright. I had to wait maybe about 15 min for the pork chop rice. On first bite, you can tell the tomato sauce is on the sweeter side. So if you like that, that's the place for you. You can tell that they marinated the pork chop then fried it like the Taiwanese style popcorn chicken. It has a light crisp. It would be nice say if the onion and pineapple taste more blend in with the rest since those don't get any sauce hidden under the pork chop. As for the satay beef vermicelli, I've had better ones while in HK. But if you really miss a dish like this from HK, it gives you maybe 70% of what you're looking for. Btw, they only accept cash, Apple pay and another form. Credit card required additional charge

Excellent egg and toast. Creamy with great texture. Ice T is 2 steps below the GOAT at aberdeen centre but standard. I found value at $10 for the combo. It's good to see quality maintained (at least for their famous eggs) as Cha Don rapidly expands. No wait to order, if you're a fan of The Don this may be your go to location.

Last time I came here with my husband. This time we came as a family together with our daughter. Skipped the Macaroni soup this time but still had the same fried fish fillet with salad, sausage, toast and scrambled eggs. My husband daughter both ate the sausage and shared another dish from a different stall in the food court. They both had some of the fried fish fillet and my husband had a small bite of the scrambled eggs. Other than the sausage, the bit of fish they both took and the small bite of scrambled eggs that my husband had...the rest of the Cha Don meal was mine. So I ate both slices of toast (very thick slices), about a third of the fried fish fillet and 98% of the scrambled eggs? Sooo filling! It was shortly before noon when we all started eating. I was full all day long after that. Sometime before 6pm I had a bubble tea drink and that's basically the only thing I had all day aside from the Cha Don meal I ate earlier in the day. Yup, that's how filling the food there is! Very good bang for your buck at Cha Don! I do recommend sharing meals there to avoid overeating. Or else...be prepared to not have another proper meal for the rest of the day!

The prices are amazing! I had the fried fish fillet Curry with rice and it was only $15 and included a side drink. The fish was very good but average and the rice to fish proportion ratio was too much, as there was too much rice for the amount of fish, it also came with an egg which was very good and vegetables. The baked spaghetti and rice were decent but I would say the spaghetti sauce was too sweet for my liking, but the meat was very well cooked and delicious. The noodles were okay. Honestly this is a solid place which is why I'm giving it a four-star review with very good prices.

Finally got a chance to try this place after hearing about the hordes for months. Honestly I think they are singlehandedly reviving the (previously quite dead) Empire food court. I hear they're the sister restaurant to Cha Kee (President Plaza) which is also known for great value. Makes sense. This place closes quite early, so swing by for a breakfast or late lunch. Parking is available in the strip mall lot between the 2 halves, as well as a parkade in the NE corner of the propety. Staff are friendly and helpful. No complaints. The place is pretty no frills. Classic HK cafeteria (fast food) style. Pick a meat, pick a starch (toast or hash brown), pick a drink (extra charge for cold). Many of the combos come with stuff like scrambled eggs, (potato) salad, and sausages. Basically comfort food. Everything was grilled to order. The food is nice and fresh. Probably the best value in the entire food court. Haven't seen these prices in years. And of course the food meets my exacting standards (cheap and tasty). The fish filet I had was huge. I had to stop myself from weeping. This is my new go to if I'm in the area while it's open. Recommended.

Great place and worth your money on the portions! Very busy but efficient. Service was so-so but worth the wait Small food court type but meh

Cha Don noodles, milk tea, and silky scrambled egg with toast.
    Jenny L.

Located in the food court, parking isn't the most convenient. There is parking outside and in a garage, but the spots are tight. Went around 1 PM, the line wasn't too long. The menu was on the right side, but you order on the left, making it awkward to read while ordering. They should place another menu by the cashier. Overall, the food and prices were good, and the portion sizes were decent. You bust your own table, seating can be limited when it's busy.

Cha Don is a Hong Kong-style cafe stall in the Empire Centre food court. It is the sister restaurant to the popular Cha Kee in President Plaza. Cha Don opened in early October this year & offers all-day HK-style breakfast sets & baked dishes. We've been here twice so far & find their all-day breakfast combos very affordable & tasty. My fave is the fish fillet Cha Don set. The fish fillet is fresh & crispy. The hashbrown was good too. Eggs were buttery & soft. Their Yeunyeung drink was smooth & rich, unsweetened but not bitter. The HK-style milk tea was also deliciously smooth! I liked the macaroni & ham breakfast set with toast, egg & drink. The Satay beef with instant noodles was just alright. The wait can be a little long, but I think it's quite worth it if you enjoy authentic HK-style breakfast combos at a fair price!

Tried this place for the first time. It was busy but was quick. Had the satay beef with vermicelli, eggs and toast and hot lemon tea for $13. It was a good deal for all that food. I have to say their eggs are delicious . I'm not much of a scrambled eggs person but this one was really good. Made it into an egg sandwich with the toast. Will def be back to try their pork chop on rice. Apparently that's a good dish.

I used to come here often with friends and families for breakfast and wanted to see whether it still tasted just as good. We each got two items from the breakfast combo, A through D. A to Cs are our usual options and upgrade to French toast. The eggs were somewhat on the drier side and i personally prefer fluffy ones. The beef noodles and the congee continue to be my favorites. The beef noodle broth is flavorful and the congee definitely comforted my soul. The items listed in D are always a miss. We have tried all items and none of them was delicious. For example, the steamed rice rolls were very doughy. Other times, they were very dry. The items in D sometimes felt like they're frozen dim sum items sold at grocery stores. Service is a hit or miss depending on which server you get. Sometimes you get servers who come and refill tea and provides actual service. Other times, no one comes by at all even when there is no tea in cups, etc.

The dessert at the end was a surprise. Expecting red bean soup but got a Chinese jello instead. Prawns were amazing too. Salted egg flavour and sweet and sour pork had wok hei! Service could be a bit slower but it's a Chinese restaurant. So i get it. Everything was gooood! Portions were generous and the taste on point. The washrooms could use a bit of cleaning as well as the flooring...so had to take away a star. Would go back for sure! Overall tho, good comfort Chinese food at reasonable prices. Cheers!
