from the beginning the process to be seen by "Dr " Weisler was nearly impossible it took almost 8 weeks for them to even schedule my appointment due to their unnecessary demands for documents. As someone who has moved around alot, seen many different endos, and has had hashimotos/thyroiditis longer than not I can confidently tell you to not waste your time. When I was finally able to schedule they booked me for 8 months out. As someone with thyroid nodules this should have been the first red flag. Secondly the bloodwork required prior to the appointment was a simple TSH any educated Endo knows that a TSH on someone who is medicated isn't going to tell you crap! After the long awaited appointment to be seen I make the trek, over an hour drive by the way, and was told they never verified my insurance. For some ungodly reason this took registration 30 minutes to complete and by the time they were done I was told that weisler would not see me and I needed to reschedule- regardless of her opening in 30 minutes and regardless that it was her staff that screwed up , and that I waited 8 months for this appointment, and that my labs were clearly off and I needed to be seen. I could go on and on. I would never trust her with my care and urge everyone to stay away! So careless! read more

My first visit with her and I'm desperately in need of a good doctor to figure out the issues I've been experiencing (diabetes 2, Hashimoto's, high blood pressure, anxiety, hypothyroidism). The dr was patient, asked a lot of good questions to help build an understanding of what's going on and what I should do to ultimately feel better. Dr. Weisler saved my life. No amount of words will say how great full I am, she found that I have cancer even after all my blood work came back regular. You saved my life and I am forever thankful. Dr. Weisler is really nice, I have loved going to her minus her staff. Yesterday I called to schedule an appointment and get a script filled. Whoever answered the phone lied to me saying they haven't filled that script for me since July 2020. I literally have the bottle with her name on it and I picked that up last month so....I can't even rely on the staff to help me with a script that I have to take every single day for the rest of my life THATS TERRIFYING TO SAY THE LEAST! I wish I could put zero stars, but Shawna doesn't deserve that. I think she's had bad luck with her staff. But seriously, that's GOT to be some sort of malpractice on the staffs part for lying and denying me a script that once again, I have to take for the rest of my life. read more

After getting a referral to Dr Weisler I called this office no less then 5 times. Not once did they answer the phone no matter what time of day I called. From previous reviews it seems this is standard bad service from this office staff. I also left 3 messages that were never returned. Patients don't stay with doctors forever so this practice must be hemorrhaging patients due to lack of care. Nothing to due with the doctor just the worst front office staff you could have working for you unless you don't want new patients. read more

I will not address this person as a Dr because she has zero Dr skills, has no idea how to treat a patient. The most uncompassionate, uncaring person I have ever come across. She prescribed Metformin and Ozepmic for me last week after I told her I was off Metformin for years and Ozempic for a few weeks because of very bad reactions I had to both of them. But I went ahead and took them. I had unbearable side effects. Numbing of my lips, tongue and finger tips, feeling that my head was going to explode and awful pain in the back of my right eye. Had to turn off lights and use a cold compress. I called her today and she called me back. She was rude, short, nasty, telling me she had no time to talk to me, cut me off when I tried to tell her what happened. She told me I could fix my type 2 diabetes myself. Did she get her license out of a Cracker Jack box? read more

I would NOT recommend this doctor whatsoever!!! Looked up a Doctor in the Cigna in-network Doctors and found this Dr. Called to make an appt. Nicklaus answered the phone and informed me he had an appt at 1:45 pm today. Scheduled the appt. Then I received a call from a woman from this Dr office stating I would need to provide my last Do for notes and most recent labs. I said that is not a problem as I have access from to this info. Was told I would need to fax over the records for Dr to review prior to making an appt. Absolutely ridiculous and incompetent!!! The reason for my visit is something quick and it would take this Dr 5 mins to review my last labs! Totally incompetent! I was recommended to see Dr Weisler in 2006 by my then internal medicine physician for an abnormal thyroid. I felt as if I was literally jumping out of my skin. Dr. Weisler diagnosed it immediately. At first, she took about one year trying to get it under control with medicine. No doing. It grew. I was then scheduled to get a total thyroidectomy by a doctor she recommended highly. The operation? A success... It's now 2020 and I am still a patient. Why? Because she's an extraordinary doctor. She listens. She evaluates. She always knows she has a human being in front of her and treats accordingly. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Dr. Weisler has always been there for me. I see her every six months. It's a two way street between doctor and patient. Yes, the doctor is there to guide and treat you but it's your job as a patient to take responsibility for your own good health. Always be aware of the latest information about your illness. Don't be lazy. If you do that, then the connection between doctor and patient will be strong. That is what I have with Dr. Weisler. I already posted this under Dr. Weisler's current practice, Valley Endocrine & Diabetes, but feel the need to spread the word: I really wanted to like Dr. Weisler, as she was recommended by a doctor I trust implicitly. Unfortunately, she and her practice have been quite frankly horrible. Dr. Weisler treats based on research and statistics while ignoring the real, live human in front of her face. She doesn't consider side effects, only lab work. She also called me "hysterical" when I voiced my concerns. Anyone familiar with the etymology of the word "hysterical" will understand how dismissive and insulting this was to hear as a pregnant woman. Beatrice, her nurse, has the worst bedside manners I've EVER encountered, and is short and rude on the phone. An example: Dr. Weisler left a message with lab results on my voicemail and asked me to call Beatrice so I could get meds called into my pharmacy. I called back that day and left a detailed message for her. A week later, Beatrice called and started the conversation with "You were supposed to call me." When I told her that I'd left her a message a week ago, she simply grunted, "What pharmacy do you use?" She's awful. She also abruptly put me on hold in the middle of a conversation (without warning), let me sit on the line for 10 minutes, and then told me that the doctor said I needed to "tough it out" (my side effects) for the good of the baby. She's a real peach. The only ray of light in this entire practice is the lovely man who draws blood. Stay far, far away. EDIT: I just received a bill for $212.03 on 6/15/15 that was from 4/16/14. The office says the new medical biller just found it. This office could not be more incompetent if they tried. read more

I was referred to Dr. Weisler by my GP for some abnormal thyroid labs. Turns out my thyroid is okay, and Dr. Weisler gave me very thorough and detailed explanations about why my thyroid is functioning normally. And, she answered all of my questions patiently. She took the time to ask many questions about my symptoms and explained that she wanted to test me for some other potential hormonal issues/imbalances. I feel she is committed to trying to help me get to the root cause of what is causing my symptoms and I really appreciate that. I met Dr Weisler in 2008 and she diagnosed with me Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. She handed me a pamphlet, wrote a prescription for Synthroid and sent me on my merry way. Fast forward to 2011... my thyroid was completely off- I was experiencing weight gain, hair loss, memory issues, digestion issues, my energy was at a level 2 and I did not feel well. For months I was seeing her on a constant basis and she would run the basic T4 lab work on me. Nothing else. I was not content knowing something was wrong and all she was doing was either decreasing or increasing my Synthroid medication. I felt like there was no light at the end of the tunnel. I asked her if there was anything I could eat or anything that I needed to eliminate from my diet that would help me feel better? She said no I will have to take the medicine for the rest of my life. I wasn't having that!! I started to do my own research and joined a Facebook Hashimotos support group. It was there I discovered how severe Hashimoto Thyroiditis was. I also found out there was non synthetic medication - natural desiccated thyroid drugs. I read the Bible of all bibles - Izabella Wentz The Root Cause. I was armed and ready to make some moves with Dr Weisler. Upon my next visit with Dr. Weisler I told her about the book and she said how many patients have asked her to read that book. She did not seem eager or open to it. And then I told her about the Facebook form that I was in and how I was learning so much about the AIP diet and how there WAS something I could eat. Her response i joined a cult. (And rolled her eyes) I asked her to put me on the natural medication and she did. I asked her if she would re-test my anti-bodies and she said no, we only test once to determine if you have Hashimoto's or not. It's expensive and insurance does not always cover it. Book closed. I remember the minute I stepped foot out of her door I swore I was never going back. And I never have. My point is you have to be your own advocate, do your research and know what to ask of an endocrinologist whom is treating your health issues. Unfortunately Dr Weisler was not on board with my newfound information or joining me on my quest to heal me. Since I have left her I am on my way to remission. Yes. You can cure Hashimoto's!!. Good doctor, terrible office. Dr Weisler knew what she was doing, but the front desk people were terrible. Bad attitudes, bad explanations, no sympathy. They seemed angry to be working there and annoyed by patients. My last appointment was cancelled because they suddenly decided not to work with my insurance company anymore, which is blue shield of CA, one of the biggest companies in health insurance. I've been taking my mother to see Dr. Weisler for well over a year after my mother suffered a Thyroid Storm that threw her heart into AFIB. My mom doesn't speak English very well and I appreciate she that calls me with lab results and changes in medication (and she does it personally!). She ALWAYS takes her time and answers every question and I feel like she actually cares. Her office has called to remind me of tests or follow ups that need to be done. I love that we can walk in for blood tests every couple of months and we don't always need an appointment to see her after because she'll follow up over the phone. Dr. Weisler is great, but the staff is HORRIBLE!!!!! I am a sectary and I always tell myself .. "treat others how you would want to be treated." If you question the staff why they never submitted the lab orders you get attitude. When you ask them are you sure this is the correct prescription they give you attitude and call you back 2 minutes later to let you know they sent in the wrong prescription after having to wait 5 days because it had to be delivered to your pharmacy. That was unacceptable!!!! They never return your calls. The receptionists are horrible. If you don't like your job or you're having a bad day .. i'm sorry but you have no right to be nasty to patients. If I wouldn't have googled the prescriptions name, my spouse would have been taking the wrong medication and who knows what would have happened. It's unacceptable and I don't understand why they feel they have the right to be nasty to patients. If you don't like your job, then leave simple as that and find a job where you actually enjoy working at. Going to a doctors office is not exciting and dealing with nasty secretaries makes the whole experience terrible. I wish someone would tell them something because even if you tell them, they're still the same and don't care what you have to say. They will continue with there day letting out there frustrations on patients who did nothing wrong. They're just lazy girls who just want to sit in there desk, do nothing and get paid. I recently went to see her since I had painful swallowing. She throughly examined me and ordered the blood work to rule out subacute thyroiditis. I previously went to urgent care and they had no clue. I would only trust Dr Weisler about any endocrine issues and she is the most compassionate and caring doctor. I came in today for my 8:45 appointment, that I confirmed over the phone yesterday, only to have the front desk lady scold me. Apparently my appointment was for 8:30. I started going to Dr Weisler when I was 1st diagnosed with thyroid about 3 years ago. She has been nothing but amazing. She's been monitoring my thyroid thoroughly for the past 3 years with ultra sound and blood work. She will go over any questions and concerns. I'm a little paranoid and she has a way of making me feel comfortable with detailed explanation of the functioning of my thyroid. She will not rush you and listens to all your concerns. She not only monitors my thyroid she checks all my vitamin and sugar levels. Hands down one of the kindest and most caring doctors I know. read more

I like Dr Weisler. She is the second endocrinologist I have seen for Graves' disease. She listens to how you feel rather than just your lab numbers. She also lets you schedule your apts every couple months and just do labs and phone calls, which is really nice. Also they do lab right in their office, but check your policy first to see if you need to use a specific lab first. I didn't and got hot with an expensive bill because my stupid policy required me to use quest. They can use quest in their lab too. read more

Medical problems can be scary, but Dr. Weisler was very reassuring and took the time to answer all my questions. She was warm and truly a pleasure to be treated by. When my test results came in she called me personally to inform me of any changes I needed to make. She took time with me, making me feel valued. I went to Dr Weisler for about a year. And what an experience it was. I was not overweight but she would always ask if I was constantly eating burritos, rice and beans. (I wanted to ask if she had bagels for brains - given she was asking racist questions). She was convinced I was diabetic and wanted me to go on metformin. I can't even begin to describe what an awful experience I've had with the doctor and the office staff. First, the individuals who work at the front desk are incredibly rude, dismissive, and very unprofessional. Their mannerisms and attitude are far from what should be displayed in a work environment. I am very disappointed how the doctor deals with her patients- she doesn't seem to explain anything and like as others pointed out, treats the patient as a statistic. Has she ever considered that not everyone is 100% the same? As a patient, she had made me uneasy about voicing my concerns and isn't exactly as friendly as a doctor should be. I do NOT understand the positive reviews. I should be able to give zero stars. Amongst all the doctors I have been to in my entire life (over 40 now), she was one of the worst. Downright cruel. Late 2006 in my mid 30s I went into her after years of suffering. At this point I was nearly bald, slept 18 hrs a day, and had virtually every hypothyroid symptom (joint pain, eye sensitivity, frequent infections, daily panic attacks, extreme fatigue, etc etc). I had even written down a long list of them (big mistake. She wouldn't even look at it). She took one look at my bloodwork which was within range and yelled at me "Why do you think it's your thyroid?! It's not your thyroid!" She told me she has many bald patients who do just fine. She would only prescribe me the synthetic Synthroid and I got worse. Imagine. My life quality was extremely, extremely poor. I hope she's reading this because guess what? Another dr FINALLY put me on Armour natural thyroid and my life changed for the better. Enough hair grew back that I didn't *Have* to wear a wig. Every symptom dissipated, except due to the many years of lack of medicine/proper medical care I do have some residual fatigue. read more

I expect to see a report some day that this doctor has been sued for negligence. It is the fault of her office staff, but the care is TERRIBLE. Two years ago she had an ultra-sound ordered, prescribed levothyroxine and sent me on my way. Her office made no orders or contacted me afterwards. When my prescription expired, I called her offices repeatedly to get it renewed. After TWO WEEKS without any returned calls, I asked my gp to renew the prescription and he did so. Meanwhile, he noticed the lump in my thyroid had become rather large and told me to have Dr. Weisler look at it. I called and was told her earliest appointment was in THREE MONTHS. But they were able to squeeze me in in two months. Anyway, when I got there she told me she'd ordered a biopsy two years earlier. She hadn't. I went back and checked my files, there was no such order... also no follow up instructions. So... she ordered another ultrasound and a biopsy. I had both done as early as I was able. Today I was told that someone set up an appointment for me some time next month to discuss the results. Nobody had set up anything with me or discussed such a thing. The only reason I found out about it was because I called to make an appointment because I'd kind of like to know what my results are? I was told that if I couldn't get to the appointment, two hours from here and in the middle of the day, (I work full time, by the way) then Dr. Weisler couldn't see me or tell me if I have cancer... until some time in MARCH. Clearly this woman only cares about the money. I'm getting a referral from my gp for a new endocrinologist. I'm hoping to see my biopsy reports in a reasonable time. I brought my 17 year old daughter to see Dr. Weisler for her Thyroid and was thoroughly impressed with how Dr W. Communicated with my daughter. Unfortunately for my daughter, it was difficult to hear about her medical condition, but now she understands and has the ability to take medication to restore her deficiency. I was so impressed with how Dr. W. Covered so much in so little time and answered all questions. It is confusing to me how there are negative reviews about the staff, be firm with them. I didn't have an unpleasant experience with them, but it wasn't memorable in a positive way either. I am so happy for my daughter, she gets it and that's what counts! read more
