Unfortunately, the place only gets two stars. I know for a fact, the managers work hard in this store unfortunately, some of the employees they have kill the vibe. They have people in the store doing shopping for Shaws customers. I don't know if they're Shaws employees or what they are but they have actually ruined the store now I go to Stop & Shop because I'm tired of dodging their employees who are doing shopping they cut you off. They run right by you. They will jump in front of you and take something off the shelf and run back. You just have to watch out for those people or you will have a collision. I asked one a question and their answer was somewhere on aisle seven if it's not there, we don't have it but actually the product was an aisle nine I think the customers that are in the store should come first as far as service goes, make the customers in the store, a priority, those kids with the carriages and the carts should wait for the customers in the store to do their shopping before they jump in front of them or cut them off with their carriage because they don't even look. Very racist. There's an old lady, name starts with B, in self checkout out, she will make her way to stand next to your register to watch you. After selling her I'm not comfortable with her hovering over me, she refused to move, so I started recording her. She then call her manager. In the meantime, her co worker with the purple hair, or whatever color of the week is, comes to her defense. When the manager came, if course he's on her side and then told me, B sould be standing in the middle of the rooom on the star. So why is B standing next to my register. Of course, im in the wrong. Terrible lately. Noone in seafood dept to wait on customers. Had to call desk to get someone to cover. Waited 15 minutes. Asked about the steamed clam special and they were sold out. Called again today before noon and they were sold out. Why are they not anticipating this and ordering more. Also there is a 2 lb limit. That's rediculous. Average person will eat close to a lb a sitting so that's not even enough for 4 people. This is bullshit. Bad management and customer relations read more

I came here mostly to get some sweets from the bakery department but while I was there I looked around in the other areas of the store as well. They have a pretty nice produce department and all of the fruits and vegetables looked really good so I can tell they do a pretty good job rotating the products that they have in all of the baskets where they display the fruit and other produce. Their deli counter looked clean and was adequately staffed with plenty of meats and cheese in the display case. The bakery had lots of good variety and some very delicious looking treats. It was hard to pick what I wanted to buy but I eventually settled on some brownies and a package of frosted cookies to bring over to a friend's house who I was visiting in the area. Both items were fresh and they were tasty as well. The front end cashiers were friendly and kept the lines moving fast. read more

In general shaws is a good place to shop for groceries, the service is fine but often depends on who is checking you out/ helping you. my only problem is that they had a deal "buy 2 get 1 free" but i never got my free items. if this wasn't a problem the store would be good. this isn't the first time this has hap to me. read more

I USED to come here. I just got tired of the awful customer service. If you go in there in the afternoon the person with the blue hair will probably yell at you. I started going early on the weekends but there is nobody working the checkout stands??? The self checkouts are horrible and you can't scan more than three items without it asking for help. so you're just standing there like an idiot. There's just no compelling reason to shop here. Everything about Shaw's is mediocre at best. They can't compete against Market Basket or Wal-Mart on price and they're no match for Stop&Shop in terms of size and selection. I recently went to Shaw's in Weymouth to send $ to international for my cousin. That day was extremely busy. Salma was by herself and she handled it very well. I was waiting for a bit, but I didn't mind it because she was kind enough to acknowledge me. Two or four days later, I found out that my cousin didn't get the money. I quickly went back to Shaw's to get reimbursed and Salma was working that day. I told her what happened and she quickly made the call & I was able to get the money back. This is not my favorite Shaw's. The produce usually is lacking in quality and selection. The selection of other products is also lacking. Shaw's also has begun mandating that we buy things in bulk in order to get the best price - like 5 half gallons of half & half (who needs that much half & half?!?) or three giant packages of toilet paper - and I just don't have the need or the room for that much product. That said, I still choose to go here and Trader Joe's. This just isn't my favorite Shaw's. read more

Stopped by Shaw's in Weymouth on the way to Nantasket Beach last Wednesday and then again today. I have to say that the prepared foods are excellent...I was surprised and delighted by how flavorful their seafood salad, teriyaki chicken, and other prepared foods were....and the rainbow sushi was excellent. The guy making the sushi was very helpful re information. AND sushi is just $5.00 on Wednesday! I had such a positive experience on Wednesday that Shaw's Weymouth was my destination today -- Saturday! The focus on prepared foods seems to really be about flavor. read more

This store was meh for a long while but lately it's been really good. They seemed to have taken all the reviews and suggestions into account. Since I've been going weekly for the past few months, I've noticed that the produce, seafood, and meat are fresher, the service is better, and more check-out lanes are open on average. I'm glad because for a couple of years prior I had been making the trip to West Bridgewater to go to MB on most weeks and it was such a hike lol. Wicked location to exit from during the after work rush. SO tough to take a left out of the parking lot unless its like 11 pm. I also remember them being open much later but sadly they are not. No person to assist in sight at any given department. I think I waited at the butcher counter for 10 mins before I gave up. Produce at Shaws overall is wonderful, but everything else is mediocre or expensive. Really. Shaws charges the most of all the mid-level grocery stores. Some of their prices rival wegmans even. Housewares/household section is pathetic and again overpriced. Sucks when you just need some batteries but have to pay $7.99 for a 4 pack. No good coupons and with no gas savings program I feel like they may be suffering in the near future. read more

Went into Shaw's and an issue with an exchange. the person at the service desk was excellent however the assistant manager Kim was horrendous. no personality, no customer service whatsoever. I am extremely disappointed and don't want to get anyone in trouble but she did mumble that I was being a b$$$$ under her breath. there is no reason why she had to go to that low alevel. it was an exchange and I wasn't asking for the world. someone really needs to go to customer service training if they hold a management position. :( read more

This place struggles yet has so much potential. I assume this is due to lack of people shopping here with stop n shop next store and 2 Whole Foods within a 4 mile radius. No excuse though. #1 Gripe and what is pretty much inexcusable is most items are almost expired. Like within a few days to a week. This is all inclusive from things that have a very long multiple year shelf life like chips to pantry and even frozen items--but worst of all packaged meats that have a much longer shelf life. And it's not just a coincidence this has happened on multiple occasions on multiple different types of products. There's no excuse for that. They have a mediocre selection. Oddly they have some items that no stores carry in the natural foods section which is my go to. But a lot of items that every store carries they don't. Very odd. The staff aren't particularly friendly, they aren't rude either but I usually go out of my way to be friendly if someone seems to not be, as sometimes people just need something to smile about, sidetrack them or get them out of the mundaneness of the day. It hasn't been reciprocated yet, kind of ignored, but I'll keep trying! Shaw's please do more in regard to checking the dates on your items. read more

I have shopped here and there at that Shaws. I went there recently and picked up a few items that were on sale with their internet coupons. I thought I had loaded them into my phone, but realized I hadn't when I saw the receipt. I went to the service desk and the young girl working there, who couldn't be bothered to help me said: "Ya, you have to put them in your phone to get the discount." Just stood there looking at me and refused to honor the coupons...and basically ripped me off six dollars. Will never shop there again. read more

I want to give this Shaws a review not based on their physical appearance or on their products this one is on their costumer service. To make a long story short they have a employee ( Mark ) Mark went above and beyond and over the top to find a product my wife and I was searching for. I went to cash out and could not get the top notch service and effort out of my head this man produced, I requested to speak to the manager We wanted to let him know of the excellent experienced and costumer service we received. I mean it has to be acknowledged. The woman at the cash register paged the manager. He came to the front of the store. To our surprise the Customer service manager was Mark. Shaws please here this, This man is in the right position. He should give company in services and could mentor his piers. I'm all set with this location. Each time I have left I have left feeling uncomfortable and confused. This evening was the last straw. As I'm checking out with the 5 items I have, a bagger from another checkout comes to bag my things while I'm paying on the pin pad. As I'm in the middle of using the pad the bagger blurts out "THANK YOU! " Loud that myself, my son, the cashier and the couple behind me looks up. I say " thank you " and finish up on the pin pad and walk away confused. At this time the bagger is back on another checkout finishing up and I didn't hear her blurt out at all. At this point I sit in my car replaying the situation but the last time I visited this shaws, i experienced the same rudeness. The ladies bathroom here is disgusting. Two weeks in a row one stall has been "out of order" where explosive diarrhea is visible. The stall furthest away from today's "out of order" stall had no toilet paper and had fruit flies in the toilet bowl. Avoid this store at all costs. read more

No complaints with the exception of the seafood and deli counters. Many times I have waited a good 5-7 minutes (this is a long time if you are standing waiting), due to no-one behind the seafood counter. Employees working the deli counter just stare at you - no comments, no "someone will be right with you", and should you ask, they let you know they don't work seafood. I have to say not all deli employees are like this, but seems like the majority. If by chance, the seafood employee is there but out back or filling floor freezers, they let you know what an inconvenience you are to be interrupting them. These departments definitely need to work on customer service. read more

I moved to Weymouth February 2018 and was not sure if I was going to go to Shaws or Stop and Shop. I decided to go to Shaws mainly because the prices are a little bit cheaper, but I refuse to shop here again. On multiple occasions I have had to throw things out within a few days span! you almost need to check the expiration dates on everything you pick up! I've had bread that expired a week prior, hummus that expired 2 months prior, my blackberries were moldy in 2 days...also, when I went to the produce section on one of my trips, you were pretty much out of stock of the whole produce department; no carrots, no lettuce, no peppers... and my favorite most recent trip, MY BEEF THAT I BOUGHT LAST WEDNESDAY HAD AN EXPIRATION DATE OF OCTOBER 26th 2018!! I BOUGHT IT January 2nd! I did not realize it until I had already thrown my receipt away and looked at the expiration date a few days later. HOW IS YOUR BEEF 4 MONTHS OLD?! THAT IS SO TERRIBLE!! How is this company still even open!? this is disgusting. I was the manager of a Big Y previously and I have never ever been treated that poorly and have gotten so much bad food in my life. So much of my money gone down the drain because I had to just throw it away. You definitely have to fix this. How do you feel sleep at night knowing you could be making the public sick off your expired food because your processes and employees are too lazy to check the dates?! I really hope people reconsider shopping here save your money and time and avoid this place because you can just go to Stop and Shop next door or Big Y in Norwell not too far away. read more

I don't know what's the deal with the bad reviews. I'm a manager of a large hotel brand in Boston. I come here about 3-4 times a week. They are simply amazing! I moved to Weymouth a little over a year ago and this store welcomed me with open arms. To clear up a few things. #1 speed up the lines is something most people like who are not friendly people or kind of keep to themselves. I see the cashiers ask one question to the regulars and the huffy pushy people are rolling their eyes and tapping their feet. Yes this is a supermarket, But they are also into Custumer service. Being nice and engaging with the customers are what brings them back. If your in a rush for some eggs or milk and your pressed for time, go to the gas station and get your groceries. Hospitality is what companies are striving for, so don't come in the store if you have $100 worth of things to buy and you only have 10 minutes to shop. Make more time for yourself and you will see this is a supermarket that not only give kind and friendly service, you will be out before you know it. Also for you speedy folks looking for the in and outs there a gas station further down the road, you can get your eggs, hotdogs and bread and be out in seconds. Someone on here claims they won't take any credit card that isn't signed or written "see id". That's incorrect and apparently an isolated incident. I've until recently lived in the area and gone to this shaws for 15 years. This place really needs to work on employee training, and getting their prices accurate. I went here a couple of weeks ago. Two items on my list were a 12-pack of Pepsi and some dishwashing gloves. At the time, they were having two specials on the Pepsi 12-packs. Yes, two specials on one item, just to make it confusing, right? One of the specials was just a straight sale price, and the other was a lower price if you also bought a bag of chips. I didn't want the chips, so I qualified for just the regular sale price. So I brought my items up to the counter, handed my Shaw's card to the cashier, and began to have my items rung up. The Pepsi rung up at the regular price, instead of the sale price. When I brought this to the cashier's attention, she explained to me that in order to get the sale price, I would need to buy the chips. I explained to her that Shaw's was having two separate specials on this item. She was not aware of any other specials on this particular item, so fine then, I told her I didn't want the Pepsi and to take it off my bill. Then she rings up the gloves, and they came up at a higher price than what was listed in the aisle. Again, I brought this to her attention, and she had another guy working the front end do a price check on them. I followed him out to where the gloves were, and showed him the price label where I got the gloves. Well, it turns out that that price was only for the medium-sized gloves. I had the large ones. (Sigh). Okay, whatever. So, I asked him if they had any mediums. Nope. That was all. Just "Nope". He didn't offer a raincheck or anything. Just "Nope", was his response. Fine then. Put the gloves back, I don't want them. I had that experience a couple of weeks ago. Then there was the negative experience I had tonight. Among other things, I bought a half pound of loose Java Delight coffee. .48 pounds to be exact. Here's the thing. They also have Green Mountain coffee for $11.49/lb. The Java Delight is only $7.99/lb. Can you see where this is going? I brought my items to the cashier, told the cashier that I had Java Delight coffee, not Green Mountain, paid cash for them, and brought my items home. After I got home, I noticed that, sure enough, my coffee was rung up at $11.49/lb. At this point, I'm thinking, I'll never shop at this store again. So, I brought my coffee back to Shaw's, along with my receipt, and proceeded to the customer service desk. Problem is... the service desk had "Closed" signs all over it, and nobody was in there. So let me get this straight. The store was open, but the service desk wasn't? Nice customer service. Reaalllly, really nice. So, I go to one of the cashier's lines. Incidentally, there were only a few that were open, and they all had significant lines of people waiting in them. Unfortunately, there were no express lines open at this time (8:30 PM). I explained to the cashier that I was overcharged for my coffee and the service desk was closed. He directed me to another checkout line that had its light shut off, with a cashier who was ringing up some groceries for someone. I found this to be odd, since the light was shut off, until I realized that the woman whose groceries were being rung up was one of the store's employees! I could tell by the shirt she was wearing. Her shift must have just ended, and she was picking up some groceries to bring home, and apparently, when Shaw's employees have their own groceries rung up, they can have it done in a closed line, even though the customers are waiting in long lines! A few minutes later, it was confirmed she was a Shaw's employee when her check wasn't going through, and she walked around and pressed a few keys on the cash register to make it work, since the guy who was ringing her up apparently didn't know how to do it. Finally, after waiting for the Shaw's employee to be served, the guy at the cash register starts processing my refund. He scans my bag of coffee, and I see "Item Not Found" come up on the screen. Then he looks quizically at a list of item codes he has. Still, he can't figure out how to process my refund of about $1.50. So, I explained to him that the coffee I bought was only $7.99/lb., and I was charged $11.49/lb. He looks at my receipt. "But you were only charged $5.52." Oh, boy, this is gonna be a long night. "Yes, that's because I bought only .48 lbs." So, without saying a word, he heads for the coffee section to investigate for himself. I showed him the two different types of coffee, with the two different prices, and we both went back to the cash register. After a few more minutes of quizically looking at lists, and scanning my bag of coffee only to be greeted with an "Item Not Found" message, he finally opens up the draw and gives me my refund. All of this for $1.50. I won't be shopping in this know-nothing store any more! read more

The store is dirty. My evidence would be that the floors are constantly dirty. The people who work there look like utter hell. NObody has a clue about anything. They only have a couple of registars open at all times no matter what. The cashiers and baggers can't bag. PLEASE Market Basket Come to Weymouth area. This place is always a cringe inducing nightmare. Some of the folks who works here are nice but there is NO ONE watching the big picture. Had some can and bottles to return and 3 out of 4 machines out of order. Then went to meat section for a few items on sale and was accosted by an absolutely out of control employee who was stocking the shelves. He basically told me to stay far away until he was done with his putting out the entire load. I was no where near him and did not bother him in any way. I should have stayed far away as before I got there he was screaming to another employee to help him.
