This place has changed a bit since I was last there. But for the better. This time when I went I saw that it has two different parts to it. Now half of the place is a store and half is an eatery. The eatery has a nice looking buffet style food bar with various types of both hot and cold foods with some nice Brazilian dishes featured. The store is a bit of a smaller version of the store that it was last time but you can still find plenty of canned goods, cleaning supplies, health and beauty products, convenience items, snacks candy and so forth. There is even a small bakery section. I was in there yesterday with the intention of buying candy and I ended up with candybars plus two nail files and a couple of bottles of nail polish. The store seemed kept up pretty good and there was plenty of help working the registers, the restaurant and the sales floor. The cashier seemed real nice and I enjoyed shopping there. I will be back. I might even eat there next time since the food in the eatery looked so good. read more

I stop by every few weeks- when it's been a long day & I don't feel like cooking! Grab a container and pick what you want from the buffet line- wait till the end where all the bbq'ing meats are! Then your container is weighed & you pay by the weight. (At least that's how I've always done it. Apparently you can sit and get table service too.) It's definitely not fancy, much more casual, cafeteria-like. And you can grab a gallon of milk or some groceries too from the small grocery side! A hidden gem! read more

It was definitely worth the stop to come and check out the hot foods served here. It's you're one stop shop for grocery items, fresh cut meats from the butcher, or grab a hot plate for lunch or dinner. During the week (Mon-Thurs, if I remember correctly), they have an all-you-can eat buffet special. Other than that, plates are priced based on weight. Everything from potato salad, rice, beans, stewed beef, mac and cheese, grilled meat, etc! My plate came to about $10 which was budget-friendly and satisfying, which is just fine by me! read more

My wife and I were driving hungrily all about, looking here and there for a place to eat lunch, when she spotted the words "Steakhouse and Restaurant". Looked good, so we decided to give it a try. We first had to wend our was through the market section until there it was... a wonderful lunch buffet of mostly Brazilian food. Wow!! There were a bunch of folks already in line so I did the same. My choices were whatever looked good, so I ended up with rice & beans, a fried chicken drumstick, pieces of cod and a sort of streak stew- steak, potatoes and carrots. My drumstick was moist and tender. The pieces of steak on my plate, taken together, would be a nice sized steak in a restaurant. My wife, among other things, got strips of steak from the carver at he end of the line. All-You-can-Eat Heaven. Our meals were weighed and the prices of our lunches were determined that way. Great idea. The Terra Nossa lunch buffet gets five stars. Is there any reason why this place not should be awarded all five? I don't think so. Case closed. read more

so I just doordashed some coxinha because I havent had any in years and i've been craving them! I never knew this place served food I pass by here and never bat my eyes! but first can I say, that was the fastest delivery ever they came wayyyy earlier than expected which was awesome. the coxinha is the best i've had in awhile, they were still very warm when I got them & the size of them are HUGE! so happy! ill deff be coming by to stop and dine in soon read more

Stopped here today for the first time. I love the concept. You can go up to the register at the food service counter, asked for a number, then shopped for your grocery and meals, then pay everything all at once. The grocery store is well stacked with goodies from Brazil. On to the food service counter, where to start. Firstly, they offer so many varieties and they are good. I bought some bread rolls for the house. Mum declared it good. Then, there were those beef empanada and chicken filled croquette-like fried glorious goodness which dad proclaimed good. The donut looking fried dough, however, fall flat. Mum said it is hard, and too doughy without much flavor. We also brought home two servings of flan. Dad said texture is spot on but lack vanilla flavor (not even sure if they put vanilla in their flan) We moved on to the prepared food counter. everything looks good. We grab a box and dive straight into the grilling glorious meat. Roast beef and steak tips are great, medium rare. The chicken wings were very well marinated. Have I had better Brazillian grilled meat, absolutely. However, the proximity of the place kicks up my rating a notch. It is much closer to home and the food is decent. We have not even tried the salad and hot dishes yet. Will be back to try them out next. read more

Terra Nossa Steakhouse - Abington, MA Great value, wonderful food especially if you want something different. A very quick eat, better than any fast food anywhere. Just pick up a plate and get going. no possessed garbage food here, this is great honest home cooking. One of my favorite forms of dining is buffets so that I can try many flavors at once. Here you will have a nice journey through Brazilian cuisine. Terra Nossa is a Brazilian market and eatery that I stumbled across by accident. I love trying foods from different cultures. In recent years, I have developed a love for Brazilian food. My first experience with this cuisine was when a few of my coworkers brought some items in from a local Brazilian market. They were small, appetizer-type pastries called coxinha and bibe. There are many types of these little treats (with several names I can barley pronounce), but these two in particular, have become my favorite; however, I have come to find out, that the more I experience this food, the more in love I became with its variety of different flavors. Terra Nossa's is a buffet, which is my favorite layout for dining. I love buffets because you don't have to wait for your food; giving you the ability to pick up a plate and go. It's generally much less expensive than a seated meal, and you can try so many different foods that you wouldn't be able to experience with a plated meal. I particularly like the way Terra Nossa is set up because as soon as you walk in, you can pick up a plate and immediately head down the line of ample offerings. The line starts with a selection of chilled items and salad type components. Here, you can usually find some other favorites of mine like maionese, which is a Brazilian spin on the traditional American potato salad, and salpicao which is simply AWESOME. Salpicao is a strange, but super tasty mix of pulled chicken, carrots, raisins, onions and potato sticks that are mashed together with mayonnaise to make it real rib stickin'. The best way to describe this dish is that it is a South American version of a waldorf salad. The next section has about 6 to 8 hot side dishes and a few entrees as well. On this end of the line, you will find rice and other starches, and sometimes their version of lasagna, which is prepared with a white sauce and equal amounts of cheese, as there is pasta. Feijoada, Brazil's national dish is a bean dish that is stewed with pork or beef served with rice, is always available. Couve, sautéed sliced collard greens, can also be found on this end of the line. This hearty green helps balance your meal against the high starch and meat offerings that have a tendency to dominate your plate. Trust me; you will be glad you had a few cups of this by the time your meal is done. At the end of the line is the main event. A small wall behind the counter of slowly spinning meats will beckon the primal caveman in you. All you vegetarians out there may have to close your eyes at this point in the line, for this is the world renowned Brazilian style of BBQ known as Churrasco. The gentleman behind the counter pulls a rod of rotating meat of your choice from out of the oven and slices it in front of you, allowing you to inspect the meat, ensuring that it is cooked to your liking. He will then chop it into smaller pieces if you so request, then place it on your plate. You may choose to stop this point, or continue on this carnivorous journey to the various depths of meaty Heaven. From there you place your plate on the scale located next to the register so the weight of your plated meal can be registered for payment. You are then given a ticket which is your "tab." The ticket should be brought up each time you go through the line and your plate is weighed. The price per pound was $5.63 at the time that I wrote up this evaluation. If you are a heavy eater, and are going back to the line several times--as though you are winning a trophy--then you could be looking at well over 20 bucks; which, in retrospect, is still cheaper than a plated meal at a 5 star establishment. On this particular visit I went through the line once, and one my plate was well stacked, but I got out the door paying just $10 and change. Not bad for a home cooked meal, served up fast. With Weymouth offering very little outside of the "typical" food fare, it is a treat to have such a unique place so close by. The atmosphere is very laid back and casual. If you are looking for something different with good value, quick service, and friendly people, then I highly recommend giving Terra Nossa a try. read more

I can't believe I've lived in the area for years and just stumbled upon this place today. What a great little find .... although it was packed with people who obviously have known about it for years. The grocery store shelves were full of all those wonderful items you can't find in regular grocery stores. The butcher counter had a great variety of freshly-made sausages. But the best part is the "help yourself, cafeteria-style, buffet." From salads and side dishes to skewers of freshly roasted meats, it was a feast. Pick what you want, and the carver will cut any of the meats, in whatever portion you want, and you pay by how much your plate weighs. Cheap. Delicious. Fun. We'll be back soon! read more

This is no fancy churrascaria, it's a walk-in buffet in the half of a Brazilian market, and it is awesome! It is one of our favorite places to go when we want to eat out, but don't want to be waited on or wait for a waiter to come over and take the check, etc. We hate waiting... You walk in, you grab a plate, some silverware, and you go to town! This is a nice, fresh, constantly replaced and filled Brazilian buffet, and at the end of the buffet, you ask the meat attendant for the meat of your choice. They have steak tips, short ribs, sirloin, sausage, chicken hearts, chicken wings, chicken breast wrapped in bacon, and maybe some other meats... But our favorite is the sirloin and the chicken wrapped in bacon. You can either go all you can eat, which costs a fab $10.99 if I remember right, or you can get weighed in and eat one plate. We always do the all you can eat, because it's a steal! They also have a plethora of other Brazilian food options that we have not even tried because we love the buffet so much. This out of the way combination market / restaurant has some unexpected offerings and well worth a stop if you are in the area. The butcher case has great Brazilian sausages, homemade slab bacon and a variety of other seasoned meats. Although I have not tried it, you can order a WHOLE ROAST PIG (about 18-20 lbs). Please invite me to the dinner if you ordered one of these. Not to be missed are the "pastel" which consists of two large sheets of savory dough stuffed with your choice of Brazilian cheese or meats and then deep fried. My hands down favorite is heart of palm and cheese. Sounds a bit bit odd but it is oh so tasty. The restaurant part of the store also has a hot buffet and grilled meats sold by weight. I agree that Terra Nossa is not a fancy restaurant, but the food is really very good, and if you are planning to make a Brazilian meal (feijoada, for example), you will find everything you need here.
