To get this level of personal attention, skill and vision in most places, you'd have to shell out some serious coin. But Guy charges a mere 16 or 18 bucks for a guy's haircut. He remembers you and remembers what you like. He makes appointments or will try to fit you in as needed. I thought about trying to save a few bucks by going to Great Cuts or whatever its called, but it is totally not worth it. First of all, the mall places won't do appointments, so when you get there after work, you have to end up waiting forever. Then you get some beauty school drop out smacking gum and talking on the phone to her boyfriend or whatever. Well, not anymore. You can feel like a star and get the special treatment for only a few bucks more than the mall places. It's well worth it. Also, I've noticed that Guy caters to a diverse clientele: ladies, young and old, even blue collar construction worker dudes just getting a buzz cut. So don't feel like you shouldn't try this place just because you want a simple short haircut. Guy can do that well too!

She even rescheduled my initial appointment when I needed to cancel (with notice). I showed up to my appointment 10 minutes early which gave us more time for the consultation. Once the appointment started, she told me she hasn't taken new clients in over a year because the wait for her existing clients became too long. I asked, "so how did I get here?" She said she didn't know and that maybe I just emailed her at the right time. When I left my appointment with frizzy hair (I guess she doesn't flat iron hair or normally work with curly hair) she told me I could reschedule a new appointment next season or next year, it's up to me... I'm sure she is far more friendly and helpful with her existing clientele. I'm also sure I won't be returning but that is probably alright with Amy.

She went over what she can do and what she couldn't based in my hair type (Asian straight hair) and previous hair coloring/balayage. I went with her first solution to do a partial highlight to blend in my previous balayage. She did suggest to do a re-tone if I didn't want to spend more time and money on my hair. She took her time and I never felt rushed. I am really pleased with how my hair turned out. I recommend reaching out to Michelle and book your appointment ahead of time!
