They should reconsider her as the face of their business moving forward if they wish to remain one of the upscale salons in Eldersburg. Like the other guy said, the few times I've been here, I too have had to wait in excess of 15 minutes with no explanation or apology. Due to my schedule, it is difficult for me to make a haircut appointment and I'm rarely home during the week (live near DC, work in Reisterstown area) so I have to make online appointments after-hours at places far from home. MUCH rather see the barber by my house, but it is what it is. It's a strange dynamic in this place. Some are nice/normal, others quiet (that's fine too), and a couple are, well, catty. I've sat through a haircut while the stylist had a conversation with another client seated across the room, shouting in my ear the whole time. I've had my face sprayed with hot water a couple times. I've been hit with a painful, relentless sales pitch for their products for what seemed like eons. The waiting area is literally one ottoman. Not too comfortable for a chunky guy like me! The cuts are adequate to great for a guy, but between the waiting and the prices and the attitudes, I just decided to wait and see my barber back home from now on. I think this place is just not a good fit for male clientele. BTW, the robo-responses from the owner are pretty comical. I went in to this salon knowing my hair was a wreck. My stylist, Darya, was amazing! She took time to evaluate my hair condition, laid out a plan to restore my hair and put together a game plan to reach my hair goals. I was slotted for approximately 2-3 hours with her, she took over 5 hours to achieve the preliminary results that we discussed. Darya told me from the very start we may not be able to reach my final result. She went above and beyond to do as much as she could without further damaging my hair. Darya is such a talented and amazing stylist!! I will definitely request her over and over. EOS is a wonderful salon. I went there for the first time, two weeks ago, and Sara did my hair. I was going from almost bleach blonde to brunette (for the first time ever), so it was a big change for me. I was a bit nervous about the transformation and asked Sara MANY questions. She was patient, answered all my questions thoroughly and was incredibly kind when doing so. She made me feel comfortable and we had a great conversation during the process. She also asked me many questions about my hair so she could give me the best possible style. She informed me that they dye eyebrows, which I decided to do as well. I wish this could have been a 5 star, because I was actually pleased with the color service I came in for. That's the only reason for a second star. It's their dishonest business practices and being charged for services I didn't receive that makes that visit my first and only time here. I'm glad I asked for a receipt. I didn't check it the day of because often salon receipts aren't itemized. Yesterday I happened upon it in my purse, and glancing at the items on it, noticed I was charged $48 for a haircut. Problem is, I didn't get one. Megan textured the ends quickly, didn't even take 3 minutes, and somehow thinks she deserves $48?? I also saw 2 charges for additional color product. She only mixed more color once. The icing on the cake of dishonesty is that I had gone in for a consultation a few days before, at which time she quoted $170 for the color service. My mistake was not asking for the itemization on that, because I was charged just slightly higher than that. So, she planned from the beginning to charge for extra color, twice, and for a haircut I didn't need?? When I called the salon to ask for at least a partial refund of the haircut price, the girl who answered went to ask Megan if it was a haircut or the quick texture I received, and she lied and said it was a full hair cut. They said "that's just what we charge." If I had been told that you charge $48 for scissors even TOUCHING my hair, I would have declined that. But then, she planned to charge me for that 4 days prior so who knows. To be clear, my issue is not with the price of the service-if the receipt showed that I was charged that much for the color service, I would have been happy to pay it. My issue is being charged an outrageous amount of money for a service I didn't receive, and then the salon refused to even consider remedying the issue. I would have come back had they been understanding and refunded even a small amount of my money. Finally, the salon makes you feel just wonderful about receiving discount cards for your first visit. Problem is, they only discount the basic service, then upcharge the hell out of you. Guess Megan learned from the best on how to cheat clients. I'm including a photo of the receipt so you can all see this for yourselves. Megan, I hope you enjoy that $48 you didn't earn,and the $30 tip I left you. You'd better believe I'll tell everyone I know to avoid this place, and you, at all costs. Sucks that you have absolutely no integrity, because you're a talented colorist. read more

This stylist refused to make my sister blond and constantly argued with her. People go to a hair salon to improve the look of their hair. If the customer knows what they want, do it. Don't tell them that their hair is disgusting and that what they want would look ugly. How dare you. We will never be returning. They have done everything possible to make sure their customers were well taken care of during this scary time in all our lives. I am a regular weekly customer and for the first time in almost 30 years I had to do my own hair. Normally I would of panicked as I don't own any shampoo or conditioner as they do my hair every week. However, I reached out to Jake my hair stylist (who's amazing). Having not bought any products in years I really didn't know what to purchase for colored treated hair. Within minutes he got back to me and told me what I needed. I contacted the salon and they took my order over the phone and my payment. I went to the door and there was my package ready for pickup. Then my roots started to come in and I really panicked. Called Jake once again, the salon not only put my color together for me to do at home, but everything i needed was included and a video I could watch on how to do my own hair color. Needless to say It came out perfect! Elements really showed who they are and how much they care about their clients. Even though I had to do my own hair no fault of theirs. They made having no contact and the safety of myself and salon effortless. Talk about really stepping up to the plate when the country is in crisis. This outstanding salon is owned by Paris who made sure everything was in place and ready to go for the salon clients. You couldn't ask more from this salon. Paris put out an email explaining all the precautions being done to assure our safety and that of her employees as they start to open up now. I haven't been back in salon yet as right now no blowouts are allowed by the state of Maryland. But I have no doubt after watching the video of all the precautions they are taking to assure the safety of us and staff I will be back. I really want to thank Paris and Jake for being their for me when I needed them most. Jake made sure I was comfortable doing my hair especially my color and if I needed him I could always call him. Paris made sure that all precautions were taken and showed that the safety of everyone is being done. I've gotten my hair cut here a few times and everyone is very pleasant, including my stylist Shannon. The reason for giving them a "3", and for me not returning, is two-fold. I think the prices for a "normal" mens cut is rather high and on my past two previous appointments I showed up on time but ended up waiting 17 and 15 minutes past my scheduled time. This is a fine place for a haircut, but I believe I would be better suited going to a place that specializes in mens cuts at more reasonable rates. read more

Angi is the best! After moving to Eldersburg and trying many different places, I found "my" salon and "my" hair expert. I have very difficult hair and Angi does a fabulous job with cut, color, highlights, and treatments to deal with well water deposits. I love the upscale but relaxed vibe, top-notch service, and an array of high quality products. Definitely not inexpensive, but I think with hair you do get what you pay for. Melody was the one who did my hair from start to finish. She was very personable & friendly, I felt comfortable with her quickly. I now go to Elements of Style for ALL my spa/salon services. This is a two part review for Gina (spa) and Megan (salon!) Gina at Elements of Style is a goddess! After going there for over a year for my hair, I decided to take the plunge and try a bikini wax and a custom blend facial. I am so grateful to her for taking the time to talk me through each process and have me fill out a questionnaire about my skin care routine, products I use, and any problems I've had in the past. Although I was nervous for my first ever bikini wax, Gina was amazing at calming me down and talked me through every step of the process. Her friendliness and openness really turned one of the services I feared the most into a very pleasant experience! It was so great in fact, that I scheduled myself for regular waxes immediately after! The custom facial was a real game changer. I have struggled with my combination skin (I have very dry skin on my cheeks, but very oily skin on my T-zone), which has left me searching for products that don't irritate my skin or cause acne. The fact that Gina took the time to speak with me about past skin experiences, medications, my skin care routine, and skin goals was something I have never experienced at another spa. Gina talked me through every step of the process, explaining which products she used, why, and how to apply them. At the end of the facial, my skin was GLOWING! I had never felt so relaxed or refreshed. She sent me home with some samples of bioelements products, and they are a GAME-CHANGER! My skin has never looked better. I see Megan for my hair services and she always knocks it out of the park. From partial highlighting to ombré and balayage, she's a color genius. My hair is not the easiest to cut and color, but she gives me the style I want every single time. The best part about EOS is knowing the entire team of stylists are fully capable of coloring, cutting, and styling my hair. I love to go to Marcela for brow waxing and lash lifts. I have been going to the Eldersburg location since moving to the area six years ago. I have seen a few different stylists, but my go-to for the last few years is Dawn. Besides having extremely skilled employees, they go above and beyond with customer service. A week before my sister's wedding Jan 2018, I decided to go back to a natural hair color (I am a natural redhead-sort of a lighter auburn-and at the time had fun, legit red hair, but it was nowhere near a natural color). Since I had existing plane tickets to Texas, I made an appointment with the first available Level 4 stylist to lighten my hair and color it to a strawberry blonde. There was a fluke, major mishap during the bleaching process-I have extremely thick hair (luckily) but a significant part of the top layers of hair broke off. Picture bleached blonde hair that was well past my shoulders with Jim Carrey's hair in Dumb & Dumber on top. I was dumbfounded and speechless at the level of damage to my hair. I could feel clumps and clumps coming off when they were washing out the bleach. I felt so bad for the stylist and about what happened that I didn't say anything at the time, but I cried and cried when I got home. I emailed the salon the next day and one of the owners, Dawn called me directly to schedule a time the next day for me to come in. They did an intense keratin treatment and Dawn spent a long time figuring out the best course of action. She dyed my hair a very dark brown that I would have never picked out but it was absolutely beautiful. Since I needed long enough hair to do an up-do, we left the crazy "cut" for the time-being and scheduled an appointment for a substantial cut when I returned to Maryland. The salon did weekly, and then bi-weekly, complimentary vitamin and keratin treatments for months until my hair was healthy. I probably had no, no joke, eight treatments at the very least. Actually my hair was probably healthier than it has ever been!! I fell in love with Dawn and am still so appreciative at how they handled the situation and legitimately cared about the welfare of my hair. I never hesitated to continue using them for all my hair services-even coloring and highlights. I recently returned to Texas and saw my sister's wedding photos and decided I would break my "never write reviews for anything" streak and tell my little story. ;o) read more

I got a manicure here on a Wednesday and it was pretty good, I was talked into coming back another day for a pedicure and that's where I went wrong. Waaay over-priced. $126 for 2 pedicures? That's like dinner for 2 at Ruths Chris, not a pedicure! And it was nothing special, massaged legs for less than 5 minutes. Not worth it. The owner is one of the nastiest people I've ever dealt with, she checked us out and I wanted to ask her how many customers she drives away daily. Upon arrival I was greeted and offered a tour of the facility and an explanation of services and information about the company. Megan did a great job on my foil highlights and cut. Horrible scheduling experience done by the staff! I had an appointment to come in for Balyage highlights (which takes a longer amount of time.) The receptionist blocked me for 4 pm and to come in a little early at 3pm to do a consult on what I would like to do with my hair. I got to the appointment 15 minutes late because I was in a fender bender coming to the salon. When I got there, there was no concern for my well being or acknowledgement of being a new client to the salon (which at the time I was very excited about.) The receptionist proceeded to tell me that there was not enough time to do my hair because there was someone booked at 4. What???? As a new client, or any client you only block off ONE hour for balyage, wash, and blow dry??? Even if she had done my hair it sounds like she would have been rushing the whole way through! I received a gift card for a massage and facial. My massage was ok (would have been better if she listened and applied my requests) but the facial was worth walking out of mid- session. The esthetician moved at warp speed (soft, slow and gentle movements are what's best when working with the delicate surfaces of the face), and treated the session as though she was in a race to finish. I've been going to Elements for years now to have my eyebrows done by an aesthetician. I have seen 3 of them now and I've never been disappointed. However, I have had one appointment with Tanya and she was absolutely exceptional! She took the time to look at my eyebrows, determine what was the best course of action and even gave me a plan to make them look better naturally. My mother, bridesmaids, friends, and I scheduled appointments on Friday July 3rd to get our makeup and hair done for my wedding that day. Many of the employee's were very friendly and helpful. The women and men working with us asked for our ideas for the makeup and hair and also shared their ideas, which were all very good. Shout out to Lauren and Jake for an amazing job with hair and makeup, I got several compliments at the wedding. You are also able to bring in food and drinks for your guests, or purchase things for them to bring in.
