Poor Communication and Unprofessional Treatment - 2/5 Stars…read more I'm disappointed to share this experience, as I was hoping to find a reliable salon after relocating to the area. I chose this Aveda salon based on positive experiences with the brand elsewhere, but unfortunately encountered significant service and professionalism issues. My first red flag should have been when Nicole accepted my color appointment but then informed me upon arrival that she needed to reschedule the actual color service for another day. While the consultation went well and I agreed to return, this set an unprofessional tone. The color work itself was acceptable, but the styling was terrible - I left looking like a poodle. Despite my hesitation about the cut, I decided to give the salon another chance since I was satisfied with the color results. Nicole recommended a 6-week follow-up, which seemed excessive given that I typically only need color services 2-3 times per year. When I called a week before the scheduled appointment (5 weeks later) to cancel because my color was still vibrant, I spoke with the receptionist and left my contact information to reschedule when needed. When I did call back to book an appointment, I had to cancel due to a death in the family. Again, I called well in advance, explained the situation to the receptionist, and requested to reschedule. A week ago, I called to finally reschedule, only to have Nicole call me back days later claiming I was being "fired" as a client for having "3 no-shows." I was shocked, as I had made two advance-notice cancellations with valid reasons - never any no-shows. When I politely explained that I had called ahead both times and spoken with staff, she became defensive and essentially called me a liar. What bothers me most is the unprofessional communication. At no point was I informed of any cancellation policy, and treating advance-notice cancellations (one for practical reasons, one for a family emergency) as "no-shows" is simply inaccurate. The defensive attitude and accusatory tone made an already frustrating situation much worse. I understand salons need policies, but basic courtesy and honest communication should be standard. I was respectful of their time and always provided advance notice, yet was treated as if I had done something wrong. This felt personal rather than professional. I cannot recommend this salon based on the poor styling work and unprofessional client relations.

Some of the staff here have Dyson hair dryers- super super nice! Everyone is patient and has an eye for detail, from greeting you professionally and warmly to the cut and style that you seek. They're always asking your opinion and never imposing their own will- this is sometimes an issue with nice salons where they think they know what you need for your hair. Thank goodness they don't do that! There's no judgment for whatever you request. From the products to the services to the exact style, it's entirely up to you. Love this place!
