On Thursday (today), I walked down here with my friend Ricardo as we both had appointments on this warm but rainy day. Renee was right by the door and she was my stylist. She was super sweet and did my haircut just as I wanted her to, after glancing at the photo of my ideal haircut on my phone. She did a good job trimming but I really appreciate that she made more small alterations on my cut as we continued along (cut down some cowlicks and trimmed a little more) and all the while, we had a lovely conversation about Vermont. Afterwards, she shampooed my hair (part of the package!) and then styled my hair, using specific products (that I had never seen before) to add texture to my hair. I got to meet Val the owner who is also an absolute sweetheart. She and Renee exemplify my general perception of Vermont's hospitality and welcomed me into their shop. Funny aside: I was initially drawn by another person's set of Yelp reviews mentioning that the owner here is gossipy. I am sad to report that the only gossip I heard was about that aforementioned review when I brought it up to them. Despite the lack of hot gossip, Val is great, Renee is great. They let me take neat pictures of my sweet new hairdo using their fancy equipment. I was a little worried about the price (as I usually am about anywhere), but Hair Network's prices are totally reasonable, at $25 for a men's cut and shampoo (I would have to pay $20 for a Middlebury College student to cut my hair but these students never shampooed me tsk tsk). I was a little apprehensive about getting my hair cut in town because of the horror stories I heard over the years about the different hair places, but my experience today only makes me want to return and get my hair done here again.

However, the final result looked quite different from the trial and ended up feeling rushed and subpar, especially for such an important occasion. What was most disappointing was the response when I expressed that I wasn't happy with my hair. Instead of feeling heard, I felt that the owner became defensive rather than trying to understand my concerns or work toward a solution. As a bride, you hope to feel supported and confident on your wedding day, and unfortunately, that wasn't my experience. I do want to mention that the makeup artists were absolutely amazing. They were professional, kind, and did a beautiful job with everyone's makeup, which I truly appreciated. I don't leave negative reviews lightly, but I think it's important for future brides to know that while the makeup team was wonderful, my experience with the wedding hair services and customer service fell short of expectations.

Never in my life until I went to posh have I paid over 250 dollars for highlights and a cut... I had an appointment scheduled for November 9th I called and messaged the hair dresser personally to cancel the appointment on the 7th simply because I cannot afford the amount they charge. They have a 48 hour cancellation policy I called and texted the stylist 2hours outside this policy and she charged me 190 bucks and REFUSED to refund me. She said if I called 2 hours earlier she would have or if I agreed to reschedule she would give me half my money back. It wasn't until I told her I did not want to rebook that she charged me. I messaged the Facebook page to get in touch with the business owner who never responded. I then called the salon today and the owners assistant refused to let me speak to the owner about what happened. While I understand policies are in place it was extremely unprofessional of the stylist to tell me she understands things happen and then to go and charge me almost 200 bucks. Had she only charged 50 I wouldn't have minded. These actions reflect badly upon posh as not only a business but as human beings..... when someone is kind enough to call you and personally tell you that they are canceling due to finical barriers and you go and claim you understand then still take their money that's just degrading and disgusting. All I was told from the "assistant" was that "This is a very strict policy and everyone here has paycheck to make" and that "I won't listen to you call a stylist names" Mind you not once did I call names I said her actions were Grimey and unbecoming and unappealing. Not once did I even say the work she did on me previously was bad in the slightest. This is simply about affordability in a very terrible economy and about price gouging. Not once did the stylist or the assistant even attempt to resolve the issue for me not once did they even apologize either.
