I never thought I would see the day when I did not need a relaxer. I've been coming here for two years and now I can proudly say," I am natural" (no more relaxers since 2021...thank you Star D). It was the best thing that could've happened to me. I feel like I'm spending time with family. Do not expect to be seen at your scheduled appointment time. Both times I have gone I've waited at least an hour to be seen. My sister and I have both had our appointments canceled by email, with no explanation and had to call the salon after, to inquire about rescheduling. My sister rescheduled and then that one was canceled as well with no explanation . They don't have the courtesy to call you to reschedule after they cancel your appointment. After I called to reschedule, I was given a new appointment. I showed up to the new appointment and no one has any clue what I'm there for or who my stylist is; I wasn't even on their schedule for the day. This place had been recommended to me by various people because I have natural hair and they have stylists that are good with natural hair. While I can count on them to do a good silk wrap, I just don't like how they handle my hair when detangling it. I don't understand why stylists at black owned salons don't know how to properly detangle natural hair (starting at the ends and working your way up in sections with a WIDE tooth comb). If you don't detangle properly, you just undo all the good of treatments and trims. I would be a much happier customer if they would fix this one thing. read more

My co-worker recommended this salon. I was happy that it was not far fron where I lived. I called a couple of weeks prior and kept getting sent to voicemail. This got to be a little frustrating. I decided to try again today. I called at 11 and I was told that I could come in at 12. I had a problem finding the shop because they moved and the Yelp address wasn't updated. I was about 10 minutes late. I had to call back to verify the address. The receptionist assisted me and he was very patient explaining how to get there. The sitting area had plenty of seats and there was a TV on for entertainment while you waited. I already washed my hair the night before and had conditioner on when I came in and I advised them of that when I called. I came in and was told that the client in the chair still needed to have her hair flat ironed. I was taken back to have my hair rinsed maybe 10 minutes later. Luckily, it was not long for me to get into the chair to get my hair rodded. Janean did my hair. She was very friendly and was very attentive to make sure she did not do it too tight. She was very personable and it gave me the feeling like I knew her for years. I told her what I didn't like and once she was done, I was extremely satisfied. My hair is natural and she had no problem at all styling it. She suggested other styles we could try next time. The atmosphere was pleasant. The music that was on was R & B which I was fine with. It was like about 5 or 6 stylist who seemed to get along well. They greeted everyone who came in. I felt at hone in this shop unlike other places I have been to. read more

This shop could be so much better. All of the ladies are great stylists but the lack of professionalism prevents them from getting more than a 3* rating in my book. They are WAY too loud and spend entirely too much time talking and gossiping with one another about Love & Hip Hop, Basketball Wives or whatever other reality show instead of interacting with the clients about their hair. It probably took me an hour longer to have my hair done because my stylist kept stopping to join in the conversation. I wish I could give zero stars. I would never return to this salon. I arrived on time for my 4pm appointment for a silk wrap. When I got there the stylist was not ready and had someone in her hair that needed to still flatiron someone's entire head. So I was taken immediately to the shampoo bowl (a tactics so you won't leave because your hair is wet). It was the worse shampoo ever. The girl seemed like a sweet girl but she did not concentrate on the back of my head or the side away from her. It was like she didn't wash the areas she couldn't see. As she was washing I was like Lord please let some of the shampoo and water work its way to the other side of my head. So when that was over she did not finger detangle my natural hair or even attempt to detangle it with conditioner in it. She took a comb and just started to RIP through my hair, starting at my scalp. Now it does not take a genius to know that you can not detangle 4b/c natural hair starting from the scalp and not expect the person to lose hair. The girl was literally tearing all of my hair out to the point where I had to tell her to stop and to give me the comb and I would detangle my own hair. The stylist I had an appointment with came over and looked at my hair and said don't worry I will do it. Then the shampoos girl said well her hair is all tight and slung my hair. This girl actually attempted to try to make me feel bad about being natural. I said there is nothing wrong with my hair you just don't know how to wash natural hair. With no apology she walked away and I sat and began to wait for my stylist to be ready. After an hour of waiting and feeling insulted I just told them I wanted to leave. Please do not go here. Take out the time to find someone who really knows how to work with natural hair. read more

I have been going to this salon for over 10 years. I love that the stylist all get along, I have seen different in other salons. I love that they have accommodated me when I have needed to make a last minute change to my appointment. The owner really knows how to handle a business, great customer service, friendly environment and again the staff getting along is wonderful. Finally, my stylist is just the BEST. She is honest with me, takes care of my hair, tells me how to maintain it during the hot summers and when I walk out I just feel fantastic. Please only do and charge your clients for what they ask for. Giving your clients services and not allowing them to agree to such and then charging them for it at the end of the appointment is unethical. Also, if an appointment is at a particular time, it should be honored. Having clients wait over an hour in your lobby without any acknowledgement or apology is unacceptable. Stopping the hair process to gossip with friends is also unacceptable. Do what the client asks and provide suggestions. If the client agrees, then let the client know the cost upfront. Switch and bait isn't professional. I won't be returning and I won't encourage others to patronize this establishment either. Respect your clients. read more

This shop lacks professional character in all the workers. I walked in at 9:55 for a 10 am appointment with the stylist kiara , she was late she arrived around 10:15am which i was not to mad about because we all arrive late to things. Kiara was very rude, did not make conversation and then proceeded to do the most laziest job on my hair thus far. YOU DON'T NOT GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! Also, she had the nerve to take brakes in between my hair when I've been there for almost 4 hours already!
