Do you remember the salon inside Walmart? Sometimes my hair was great and other times not so much. One of my stylists was also the mailman. One had a salon museum which was a fun place to have my hair done, but keeping a good colorist is as tough as finding one. My review is for Brenden. He did an outstanding job on my hair! Highly recommended him! Brendan went above and beyond when it came to scheduling my appointment. He normally doesn't accept them, but he granted my Groupon (you should grab one if they are available!)He not only granted my Groupon, but he did additional work to my hair with no extra charge. Throughout the appointment he was very professional. Asked my about the history of my hair and my goals for my hair in the future. We developed a plan and I adore the way it turned out. He knew exactly what my hair needed to look fresh and healthy. Brenden shampooed and conditioned my hair. He also added a toner with no additional charge! He was so incredibly thorough with my layers. I've never had a stylist as methodical and thorough as Brenden was. Not over doing it, but ensuring both sides matched and that the hair fell the way it should. Brenden is an LA treasure right here in Yucca Valley! Sandra and Holland my guuuurrrllls!!! Less than a week before my sisters wedding... Ok more like two days before, I hit up Sandra and am like, "save me!" I had these highlights from over a year ago that now went past my ears and it looks tacky as eff. She told me to come in the next day. She cut and colored my hair and voila! Beautiful hair! It has been a week later and I was straightening it this morning and couldn't get over how wonderful my layers and highlights looked. On the wedding day she styled my and the brides hair. I warned her that my hair goes flat -- on my own wedding the curls didn't even make it to the reception... But this woman made that sh*t last. Look at the picture! Wtf!? How does she do it!? My sister kept looking at my hair at the wedding and was like, "Daaannng I shoulda had Sandra do my highlights." Damn right. And then she hooked me up with Holland, who spray tanned me and my sis. We were nervous at first because we're already brown but when we finished -- we were IN LOVE! We've never seen our skin so consistently one color... And it was this nice radiant gold. She made me feel so comfortable -- it was my first time and most certainly not my last. For the price she charges? I'd go every week if I could!!! Not to mention, while Sandra had me in the chair, she totally threaded my brows. Brow game was on fleek and its all thanks to that woman. Shear Glam is my new secret weapon. I am not one to leave poor reviews, but yikes! This review is for stylist Brendan. I just got a cut and blow out from him today. When I got in the chair he asked me what I wanted. I explained that I have been growing out my bangs(they are about an inch or two past my chin) and that they are disconnected from the rest of hair and that I would like to have them blended in to the rest of my hair or thinned out so that they are not so blunt. I also explained that I wanted more layers. I have very long hair. When we went to wash my hair, he shampooed my scalp, rinsed it off, squeezed it dry and then we went back to his booth. YOU GUYS, HE DID NOT CONDITION MY HAIR. You can imagine what the combing out process felt like. I LEFT WITH LESS LAYERS THAN I CAME WITH. For the first time in my life I had what seemed like a stylist just chopping at my hair without a method. He did not really section off my hair and work at a section at a time. He just kept going in circles with my hair and cutting it over and over over again. It was the strangest thing ever. He barely touched my bangs, if anything I think he made them more blunt. When he was done cutting he was showing me what he did before he dried my hair. I told him that my right side looked like it had way less layers than the left and that I just wanted more layers in general. He first blamed it on the lighting. He went through my hair once more and said it was fine and that all the layers were there and that once he blew dry it I would see more. So after blowing out my hair we moved to a different chair with "better lighting", he then said I cant see the layers because of the color of my hair!!!!!!!! WHAT?!? My hair is my natural brown color. I don't care if my hair was all the colors of the rainbow or jet black, I should be able to see my layers. I HAVE HAD LAYERS MY ENTIRE LIFE. He could tell that I was unhappy with my haircut and just kept telling me not to worry and that I look sexy.... What the hell. Instead of giving me empty compliments, fix my hair!!!!!! I did not want to be in the awkward situation of continuing to tell him that I did not like the "layers" he put into my hair so I just paid and left. It's really a shame, I was excited to find a salon up here that also offered other services like facials and body massages. But if this is what service is like I think I will pass. I originally left 1 star but because I feel it's unfair to leave a 1 star because of one stylists actions I've updated it to 3 stars do to the following: Overall, the place seemed clean and the other girls around me seemed to be happy with their hair. I would give it a 5 for my first appt I had there with Darcy, but she is no longer there. She was very sweet and very nice overall. So 5 for Darcy. I went back again recently and had it done by someone else. Although the highlights are ok, she didn't pay much attention and didn't even care to cut my layers. She quickly just trimmed it for about 1 minute and I feel she just wanted to finish and be gone. The stylist was rude and talked about me with her coworker and it was completely obvious. It was an awkward and bad experience and horrible customer service. So overall, I will find Darcy again and most likely stick with. read more

Well, I've now visited Shear Glam twice and am very happy both times....made a 3rd appointment with Shannon because we click and well, she takes her job seriously, doesn't rush and really seems to care about me, the customer! I found them through Groupon, used a coupon and was not made to feel like a cheapskate.....tipped well too after the service and cut. Yelped around and found shear glam! Chastity was my girl who was happy to hook this woman up who traveled the short drive from Palm Springs with a cut and color that I love. I went to get my hair and make up done for the Marine Corps ball and I hated it. I think it was Nina who was doing my hair. I asked for simple natural looking curls and by the time she was done my hair looked like a bird's nest. My hair was steaming cuz she was not paying attention and was on the phone pretty much the entire time.
