This was my first time using this salon, so I can only speak about my experience with Kelly,, but I asked for blonde highlights and got straight orange hair. I wish I could post pictures with this review, because its outrageous. My hair was already light brown w/ grown out blonde highlights, so its not like I was asking for something crazy. She tried to fix it once, but just made it slightly purple for a week. I asked for my money back, but the salon wanted me to come again. They tried to convince me it looked great instead of making it right, so I will never use them again. Now I have go spend another $250 to get it fixed. read more

I am totally one of those people those goes a long time with a cut or color. I've gotten tired of my grays and wanted a cut and color that would work for my low maintenance lifestyle. I just called and they assigned me with Julia. She was incredibly personable and a pleasure to talk with at my stay. My hair looks great!! This place does not care about its customers. Receptionist is incompetent and lazy. Stylists are left on their own with no accountability to provide good service. They double book, miss appointments, cancel your appointment for more expensive lucrative services. The stylist turnover a ton and the owner is so sweet but has quit caring about customer service and only the bottom dollar. The quality of the services suck, the boutique is for anyone 70+, and the extensions and colors services are subpar. Buda is a fast growing town and this is another example of a tiny old shop from back in the day that can't keep up and wonders why ? Tired. Stale. Rude AF. It is hard to gamble on a hair color or cut for a woman and for those of you doing your due diligence... stay clear of Shear Impressions. read more

Tried to get a schedule hair cut, was ignored for 15 minutes. No hello, no attempts to apologize for the wait, after it being 10 minutes over the scheduled time. Was sent an email, after addressing my concerns (via website), supposedly to get some 'certificate' - as though that is what I was after. I had bridal photos in 4 hours and my hair lady (long time friend) never showed up at my house to do my hair or answered any of my calls. I frantically googled places that can get me in as soon as 15 minutes so I can make my shoot in time. Luckily, shear impressions told me to come in right away. Not impressed. Just moved to Buda and looking for a new hairdresser. When I called to schedule I asked for their highest level stylist as I have thick hair and am a little picky. I was told that all the stylists were seasoned and would do a great job. That was not the case. My cut and style was not seasoned at all and in fact I had to come home after to wash my hair and restyle. I also asked for long layers and somehow ended up with very short layers. I got the living social microdermabrasion deal. She spent a good amount of time. I did not feel rushed. The microdermabrasion tool felt really too smooth though; like it was worn down. I used to get one of these done every month and the difference with this tool was obvious. read more

Had a facial and was not impressed. The break room is located outside of the room where the facials are given and it is extremely noisy. The gown that was provided was dirty and worn out. Basically, I felt that I paid for someone to rub my face. There was product remainining on my neck and face. In addition, there was lack of engagement from the girl performing the facial. Do not go to this place! So I bought a Groupon here. 3 pick me up facials for $83. I thought it would be alright to still use it. I got the impression it was still valid. I got my facial done, felt relieved and happy. Then I find out my Groupon expired so the groupon applied to the $65 for one facial. I have $18 to be applied to getting another facial. No, im not going back to this place. Today was suppose to be a happy and relaxing day. Turned out to be a let down. As soon as I walked in to the store, I started messaging friends and family about how beautiful and relaxing this place was until I'm at the check out. This was my second time using a Groupon before. Kathy, the eyelash technician told me that the glued on eyelashes that she applied would come off at home with baby oil. This is far from the truth, do not even ATTEMPT to take them off at home. I spent over $30.00 and the person that removed them was shocked at how bad they were applied ("over 15 lashes glued together!!?" was just one of her comments) Superficial atmosphere reminded me of middle school, don't waste your time or money here. read more

Sarah did my hair yesterday. Hair trim and color. She is absolutely awesome and amazing! She nailed it!! Spent time with me explaining the process I wanted done and she's so personable! We had great conversation while I was there. I think that's important when you're providing this type of service...getting to know your patrons. The ambiance of the salon is soothing and relaxing. I made my first visit to this Salon yesterday, and came away with a wonderful haircut and a "forever" salon. Charming atmosphere and great little shop included. Sarah, the stylist who cut my hair was bright and very talented. She asked all the right questions and made all the right suggestions to be sure I ended up with a cut that would work well for me. This isn't an easy task as Cancer pretty much crashed my hopes of my hair ever looking good again. My daughter and I have used Lauren A. For years in bee cave, tx. She moved to this salon in buda. I didn't want to make the drive as it is 45 min to an hour one way. However, Lauren is worth it. I have very thin hair and have to wear a wig. I brought the wig into salon and asked for my hair to be the color of the wig. I have been sick and have not been to beauty salon since March. My hair was supposed to be very blonde with gold highlights. What I got was a dark grey ash color. I went back again with the wig and wanted blonde with gold highlights. The stylist, Lucy, was not friendly and I still do not have blonde hair. I do however have some gold highlights that will wash away in a couple of weeks. I have been going to Sara for years to have my hair cut and colored. She is amazing! She will suggest different styles or color trends to try out when I'm getting bored with my look. Went in for the very first time. I loved the color, cut and friendly service, but was not at all happy with the blow dry. No sure if my stylist was in a hurry to get to the next customer, but I walked out with fluffy hair due to the poor blow dry. For me it is very important to get a good blow drying, as its what makes the hair look smooth and healthy. When I go to the salon, I expect to get a "blow dry" that is much better than what I can do myself. read more

Takeaway message: DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON! THE OWNER IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, CONDESCENDING PERSON AND HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU WILL EVER ENCOUNTER! ALSO WILL NOT HONOR HER OWN QUOTED AMOUNTS. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!! I shopped around salons in the Buda area for myself and my bridal party. Their website lists Bridal hair starts at $75 and Bridal Party at $65. Both I and my mother called them for quotes and were told $75 per girl (regardless of the styling I wanted). The owner told my mother that for the vintage ponytail hairstyle I wanted, it would more than likely be $55 per person with shoulder length hair, but that it could cost most for thicker, longer hair. That was fine- only 2 of the 5 girls had hair longer than shoulder length. Since this was the cheapest quote, I booked appointments for everyone. I was told there would be 4 stylists working on the first 4 girls and whoever finished first would style the last girl. My Bridal party arrived early for our noon appointment, but didn't even get seated/started until nearly 45 minutes later (we were all staggered, first person wasn't started until 20 minutes after confirmed appointment time). The owner-Veronica- was one of the stylists and complained about the conversation she had had with my mother on the phone, saying that "common people" do not understand the complexities of what goes into styling because of x,y,z factors. However, she kept having to ask me from across the salon if she was styling it correctly, despite having literally a step-by-step tutorial picture from Pinterest to go off of and then had the nerve to continue her unprofessional and condescending comments to my bridesmaid. When it came time to check out everyone's total was $75- FOR PONYTAILS! I can understand myself (longer hair with mainly hair down curled style) and the girl with longer, thicker hair being $75. But the girls with not enough hair to even fit up into a ponytail....$75?!?! Absolutely absurd. After throwing a fit because I had been quoted $55 for shoulder length hair or shorter, only one girl's got dropped down to $65 - which as you recall is what all bridal party hair styles should be at. These were not elaborate updo styles! They were ponytails with a poof! I also confronted the receptionist about the owner's unprofessional and rude commentary to the clients she was crap talking nonetheless! For the amount of business that I brought to her empty salon, not only did she possess the worst customer service I had ever experienced, but she did not honor her own word when it came to quotes. Will NEVER give my business to her establishment and you should not either. read more

I went to this salon for the first time to get a facial, wanting to support a local business, but unfortunately I left extremely disappointed. The break room is located right next to the room where I was getting a facial so throughout my entire facial I heard a microwave door being opened/closed, staff talking about personal issues that a client should never have to listen to, complaints about a "bad smell" in the salon from the staff. Needless to say the atmosphere was far from relaxing. The facial lasted 20 minutes longer than it should have and normally I would be so thankful for extended time relaxing but in this case I felt like it couldn't be over quick enough. The esthetician was nice enough but after putting the mask on my face said she would return in 8-10 min and finally came back in 20 min later..thank goodness I didn't have a reaction to the mask but my skin is definitely overly dry today. Then she tried to charge me $35 more than what my services were for, I pointed out her mistake and then she corrected the price. I will not be returning and sadly do not recommend this place. read more

I asked two things of my stylist...1, please don't cut away from the sides of my hair because I felt my hair was too thin and I wanted it to grow out down the sides. 2 please don't let me look orange or yellow in color but rather champagne or silverish highlights. I received the opposite of what I asked. The lighting is horrible in here so to actually see your color well you have to go into real lighting which for me was once I got home 2 hours away. I was visiting someone and went to get my hair done with her while in Buda. I sent the owner photos showing my orange/yellow color and a chunk missing out of the side of my hair along with my photo taken right before I went there...her shop charged me $130 and she offered me $30 refund! REALLY? I need to go spend two more hours and at least $150 to get this corrected as best I can...NOT HAPPY at all with the service or the attitude when dealing with the owner. About a week ago, I was surprised by my mother with a pedicure. I am 8 months pregnant and I'm finding it hard to paint my toes myself so I was rather excited. We were visiting from West Texas to celebrate my daughter's birthday before the arrival of my new baby. My sister in law recommended this salon because she said she had a great experience with a foot and hand massage and was offered wine during her pedicure. My mother dropped me off for my 3 o'clock appointment (about 5 to 10 minutes late) for the "ultimate pedicure" treatment and asked the young lady how long it would be so she could pick me up. We were told it would take about an hour and then I was led to the spa area. I was told to select a paint color. I chose two. I told the worker that I liked one color but it didn't seem like there was a lot in there so just in case I selected a second color. I was offered a drink and I accepted some ice water. The young lady and I made pleasant conversation while she removed the color I had on my toes. From here, the experience goes downhill fast. She seemed very unsure of herself and new at performing these duties. She applied a scrub to lower legs and feet but didn't bother to really rub it in to exfoliate the skin. She then applied a lotion and just barely rubbed it in. There was no foot massage or hand massage. She then began to paint my toes with the first color I had chosen and made a comment that it was "thick". I reminded her that I had chosen a second color and she said the first would work. While she was working, another worker was having a conversation with another client about a cake shop that apparently sells great cakes. One worker decided she was going to go on a cake run and was taking orders. The young lady working on my feet ordered a slice of tres leches. She was then talking with another young lady and asked her if she had ordered cake and when she said she hadn't, the worker told her they could share. The other young lady replied that she didn't like tres leches and the worker working on my feet responded with something along the lines of, "You're Mexican, don't Mexicans like that stuff." I thought this was extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. Conversations like that should not be held in front of clients and definitely not in the workplace. When she was done, the paint job was not very smooth and she asked if I wanted to sit in front of the fans. It was 4:45, an hour and forty minutes later, and my mother and my children had been waiting outside to pick me up so I told her I would just be careful. I paid $52 dollars for this "ultimate" pedicure, when I would have gotten better results at a regular basic salon for a better price. I went out to eat dinner and ran an errand with my family before making it home around 9 and managed to make it home without messing up the paint job that had been done. I sat at the couch to relax thinking my feet would be fine as it was 4 hours later, and tucked them under a blanket. When I pulled my feet out to go to bed, the pattern on the blanket was imprinted on the polish and hair was stuck in it. Apparently the polish had been so thick that it NEVER DRIED. I was so annoyed. We were there through the weekend but were too busy with my daughter's birthday festivities and visiting family for me to go back and complain. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere if you're going to spend 50 dollars for someone to put lotion on your feet, do a poor paint job, and make racially stereotypical comments. read more
