I walked right and got a good old short mens haircut with a neck and eyebrows trimmed and it was perfect. I'm not much of a metro guy and the whole idea of going to one of the new trendy barber shots is a bit bewildering to me.... so, I keep going to the same place that Ive gone for just about a decade now once every 6 months or so. Its changed management over the years - gone are the days where they smoked in the back room and the entire place smelled like an ashtray. Which is a good thing. The current owner is absolutely lovely, she cuts hair well and is an excellent conversationalist. I would say that Ive probably got a haircut from at least 1/2 of the staff over the past 10 years. Overall, its a good cheap place to get your hair did... they are friendly and you're giving back to a local. Over the years they recognize who I am and usually ask me about my ex, which is mildly weird - but it is what it is. At least they try to know their clientel... even someone who goes in when I feel like I cant go another day to the office looking like a shaggy homeless mess. (every 6 months or more.) read more

I brought my kiddo here for a simple boys haircut. I got a lady with short red hair and shaky hands. The whole time she was cutting his hair her tung was hanging out. I figured that a boys haircut was not that hard so I overlooked the shaky hands thing. I could not have been more wrong. She completely botched his hair. All uneven, she even used the razor wrong. Seriously, I never went to beauty school and I could have done a better job than her. I had to take the clippers out at home myself to fix his weed wacker haircut. And the salon itself? OMG, what a mess. Floors were filthy, hair clippings all over the counters and some of the mirrors were decorated with trashy nicknacks. The floor rug by the waiting area was disgusting and there were toys everywhere. Don't waste your money here, I will never be going back. read more

I'm am super upset. At first I really liked the cut and then she started going way shorter. She used a thinning Comb and now some of my layers are choppy. I noticed one it dried there were still split ends. She only paid attention to the front which is now in even because It was parted on the wrong side and the part was diagonal. My sisters cut was uneven and when the lady cut it there wasn't a part she just let it fall and cut it. Her natural side bangs are at a weird angle now. The man who's hair was cut before mine looked great. I believe if your a guy who wants a quick simple cut this is Perfect. read more

A pity since I've been going there for years and never had this issue. My cut could not be more straight forward. #2 on the sides, #5 on top, white wall. I'm usually out of there in 10 to 12 minutes. Not today. It took her 30 minutes. I got a bad feeling when she started... Typically the #2 sides are done first in about a minute... but she took a whole 30-40 seconds on EACH swipe with the clipper! Right there I knew it wouldn't be good...and I was trapped. She was literally supporting her left hand on my head as she went about, which caused my head to shake along. I was so tense that one of my hands went numb on me. Slow and detailed as she tried to be, I still ended up with some uneven spots and jagged lines. Not good. 10/25 Update: I've heard that lady no longer works there. She even asked questions and made sure we were both on the same page with what I asked for (even though my haircut was pretty simple), which I liked. No confusion! I like this place a lot! It's quick and easy. Marie always does a great job. It's a nice little local hair studio that never disappoints.

Update: after a few more visits, I will not be going back again. Taking walk-ins is great until you make an appointment, show up a few minutes early, and they take a walk-in right before you so your appointment starts 30 minutes late. My last haircut was so bad that I had to have my mom (whose an accountant, not a hair stylist) correct it. Maria cut my hair straight across the bottom, which was not what I asked for and not like the picture I showed her. read more

I LOVE this place. I had been getting my haircut at a very expensive place where it took two hours and two people to cut it (very short stylish cut) and the last time I had it done it looked terrible. So bad in fact that on my drive home while crying, I saw the sign for this place which right by my house and pulled in and was right away taken care of. Poornam (spelling?) was so nice, totally fixed my haircut and has been cutting my hair excellently for 2 years now. I never go to anyone else and it is so affordable when I tell my friends how inexpensive it is they are shocked. After a quick YELP search I decided to give this place a shot since it was near my home and inexpensive (Unemployed = no $ for fancy salons). I walked right in a Marie got right to work. I told her I had a job interview that day and I wanted to keep as much length as possible. I was very skeptical to come in here for a haircut, however, having just moved here, I was short on time and desperate. The whole time I was getting a haircut I couldn't stop looking around and feeling a little disgusted at the way this salon is kept up (hair unswept from previous day or however long). I was the first customer of the day so I would've expected better. I needed a trim and have very long hair for which they charged me extra (about $25). Charging extra for long hair is not a surprise. I believe it was Nom (sp?) who cut my hair, and we decided on a 2-3 inch trim. She ended up cutting 6+! My haircut looks very good actually, but she definitely cut WAYYYY too much. I might go back if I don't find another place as good or cheap, but I would be very very clear on how much is acceptable to cut! read more
