She excused herself right away saying my hair may not look like the picture I showed her because I wasn't doing a full set of highlights. She specializes in blondes and I left the salon with dark hair! Also, she wanted to discuss pricing with me. I've never had a stylist discuss pricing. Not classy. She quoted me nearly double than what booking online and the front desk confirmed for a partial highlight with toner. The stylist mentioned a third component she might have to charge me for but only 8/10 times she has to do this component. I left paying a fourth quote. After she blew me out I mentioned that my hair was darker than I thought it would be and she said after a few washes it would fade. I didn't complain further and left. When I got home I was really upset and unhappy. I called the salon to see if maybe she could just fix the toner because I didn't want to have to re do the highlights. She gave me a run around but then agreed. She put me back on with the receptionist who said I would have to pay for a blow out. That's when I said forget it! Absolutely disgusting. Won't be going here again.

Unfortunately, I could not hear the woman's name. I went to the salon today and asked to speak with a manager, and actually met with the owner (Mr. Carmen- apologies if that is not the correct spelling). He listened to my tale and asked if I could wait 10 or 15 minutes and he would have one of his stylists fix the issue. That stylist ended up being a wonderful man named Jesse Z. He was able to diagnose my issue immediately and assured me that bobs are his specialty. He was not lying. He was able to make my hair look great. But Salon Alure did not just simply have someone fix the problem. When I was checking out...they not only did not charge me for today's fix (which I expected)...they gave me a gift certificate for my next visit as well. I certainly did not ask for that, nor was I expecting it. I must say I was pleasantly surprised and appreciative. I know everyone has a bad day now and then, Lord knows I have had my share. But my experience today with Salon Alure has renewed my faith and I look forward to my next appointment with Jesse.
