I was totally apprehensive about giving someone new a try, but she totally delivered on exactly what I wanted, both the sexy cut and the perfect warm balayage. Even though I only came in for a haircut, she took the time to give me honest advice about my hair. She recommended that I should focus on treating and restoring my hair first, and then come back next time for coloring so the results would look better and healthier. What really impressed me was her thoughtfulness -- she noticed that my roots had grown out unevenly in color, so she went ahead and blended the color to match the rest of my hair. And she didn't charge me anything extra for it, only for the haircut. You can truly tell that she cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. She's not only skilled but also very genuine and attentive. I will definitely be coming back to her again Highly recommend her if you're looking for someone talented, honest, and kind!

Another update on Salon Domane Only rave great things to say…read moreabout them She the owner is always there and he's really nice and I think it's his wife who also works there and she's helpful and nice and they have water and offer you tea and they have candy and magazines and I go there for myself and I have a pretty complicated hair. It's naturally curly and light brown, which I haven't seen in 30 years. I bleached it out diet, baby pink, and get extension extensions put in this takes me four appointments. They are really really close to me and so I really really lucked out. Note to anyone who has never been there before, there is always parking right in front. It has a green painted curb though that says it's only 10 minutes, but it doesn't matter. It's fine. You can be there forever. It's fine I promise. Can I go to the nail shop next-door which doesn't really good job too. OK, back to Salon Domane things that I like about them is that I also go there every week with my mother like I said who just turned 80 and has Alzheimer's and jenn is so awesome that she's really booked so now I've seen two or three other stylist for her getting her hair washed and set or colored and they're all good with her. Everyone's really nice. And they have a good system that text messages me with confirmation confirmations and reminders, which is helpful because, well ADHD and stuff. Marissa is Jenny's assistant and she's really awesome too. They use really good products. It's a not a big place. Maybe like 12 stations. So it's not cheap, but it's totally not expensive either. I think it's appropriate. And for me who does extensions, she lets me get my own and bring them in and uses them which saves me money so I appreciate that but I recommend jenn for anything that is "different " as in hair color or styles. She hasn't had "natural" colored hair since I've met her and I haven't since I can remember either so I got lucky that she was the one available when I called to make an appointment with someone because I first found them through Instagram anyways. Lol this is long but that's me. Ashley is really nice, too. I really appreciate how patient they are with me and my mom. I've had to cancel last minute and even I have no showed before and I wasn't charged, which is very generous... Don't do it! Lol but yeah. Everyone's independent I think so. Just find who you like or just call and get the first person available cause I'm sure they'll be good. So when I look for a hair stylist I'm expecting them to be the the knowledge experts on what color, cut, style would look best based on my skin tone, face shape, hair texture, etc. Louie did just that; he took a look at my hair and recommended a brown so I can slowly start transitioning to the lighter color I want. He explained the damage that would be caused to my hair if he kept bleaching it, and explained a healthier approach to lightening my hair. I walked in with hair dyed black, Loui, could have agreed to a much lighter color, bleached, and dyed my hair, charged me a lot of money, all the while knowing the damage this intense change in color would do to my already treated hair. I appreciated his honesty, and love my brown color, not only was it a healthier approach for my hair, but it also looks better than what I originally imagined. I'll be back again!

Dishonest people, horrible experience. I brought my daughter to get her hair done for her 11th…read morebirthday, to get the tips of her hair bleached then dyed blue with a Brazilian blowout to help tame her curly hair. We had an appointment with Vanessa Mendez on September 2, 2025 and I explained to her what I wanted done but she didn't do that--apparently she did something according to a picture my daughter showed her when I was moving my car. The problem with the photo my daughter showed her is that the girl in the picture had straight hair, completely different than my daughter's hair. When you are 10, you can't understand that your hair won't look like that of the picture. I don't know if you have kids but I'm guessing Vanessa does not. You do what the parent says, not the child. So here's all the reasons I'm upset: 1. Although I just wanted the bottom 3 inches or so to have color, she bleached it almost all the way up to her roots in front, maybe an inch from the top. 2. Blue. I said BLUE. After the bleaching process, she started putting GREEN with a slightly blue tint dye on her hair. I stopped her and said it needed to be more blue. She begrudgingly went back and added blue but now, 3 1/2 weeks later, the color has washed out and it's an awful shade of light green. The reason why I wanted blue is because I knew the color would wash out and light blue would look so much better than this brassy green color it now is. 3. I asked Vanessa if she thought a Brazilian Blowout would help smooth out the texture of her hair and she assured me that it would but it didn't. If anything, it's made her hair more dry and crunchy than it would have been otherwise. I have had Yuko Japanese straightening done on my own hair so I know that the 2 swipes with a flat iron wasn't enough to do anything but I trusted she knew what she was doing. Within an hour after leaving the salon, her hair was poofy, frizzy and felt like straw. Mind you, this was on 100% virgin hair that had never had any treatments of any sort. 4. We spent the entire day at this salon, from 10am to around 3:45pm and Vanessa made us feel like we were bothering her the entire time. She didn't talk to us at all, except when I had to intervene in what she was doing and only in response. This outing cost me over $700 so I was upset to see that the salon is now "temporarily closed," according to Yelp. The phones are disconnected and I've gotten no response by email or Facebook. I literally feel like she stole my money since she either didn't know how to do a Brazilian Blowout or she just didn't care. In hindsight, (it was probably Vanessa's guilty conscience since she knew she was charging me for a Brazilian Blowout that we didn't get), I tipped her too well because she asked me multiple times if I was sure I wanted to give her that big of a tip. Also in hindsight, she probably wasn't worried about me coming back to complain since she knew the salon was about to close down. Google shows that Salon Soleil is supposed to reopen January of 2026, rest assured I will be driving by to check on a regular basis but I'm not getting my hopes up.
