This place screams Live Entertainment and Musical Theater resonating on the Stage. I believe I've only been here 3 Times, the first was back in 4th Grade, I recall seeing a Play on Ichabod Crane & the Headless Horseman, second was 5 Years ago when Anthony Bourdain (I miss him so Much) game to Buffalo to do a lecture on his Guts & Glory Tour (then I got to meet him at Bacchus).
My most recent visit was a few Months attending Shea's 23rd Annual Food, Beer & Wine Festival with various Breweries, Wineries & Restaurants showcasing their Craft. Losing my Dad in the crowd, its not easy to keep up with me at these kinds of things as I'm always on my Feet and moving while trying new Things. Going up & Down the stairs like a Prince in his Palace and making my way around to the Grand Stage feeling like a Star on Set.
Trying small bites such as Smoked Salmon on Toast from Greystone Grill with its light Taste of Smoke but I wish that it was Thin Strips instead of a Spread, Beef Stroganoff from MTK Prime with Bowtie Pasta and Tender Chunks of Beef coated with a light amount of Sauce.
Italian Pulled Pork from Osteria 166 topped with some Dressed Arugula but putting it with a Crostini wasn't a correct match, I felt it would've been more well suited as a Slider.
The one bite that took Center Stage as the star of the Night was the Mediterranean Shrimp from Shea's Bistro. Chilled Shrimp (that was brined in Dill) with Sundried Tomatoes and Castelvetrano Olives mixed in with a hearty grain called Farro, Tzatiki Sauce to brighten it up (although I don't like Cucumbers) and a Drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Also Key Lime Cupcakes that were Moist with each bite that you took (I thought it was worth it for 3 Bucks) that the Lime Flavor was just enough without it going overboard.
It was an interesting turn of Event as I go eat, this time it was to Drink, without me falling down and making a complete fool of myself. Tasting and taking Mental Notes while maintaining my Composure.
Beers like Common Reactor from 12 Gates Brewing that was a Dark Brown with a Bitter Finish. Irish Breakfast Ale from Resurgence Brewery that had a Sweet Maple Tone and a Smoky Accent replicating Crispy Bacon (all I need is a Fried Egg and I'm set for the Morning). I'm so familiar with Blueberry Wheat from Ellicottville, Pale in Color with a discreet Tart Flavor that I pick up in the Middle that carries out until the end.
Green Tea & Honey Saison, Pale Lager that has Asian influences that makes you feel relaxed and Zen-like. Black Currant Passion from MacJac Hard Cider, Dark in color with profound Sour Notes and The Whale from Community Beer Works, light brown ale with hints of Chocolate & Coffee.
Wines are an Exceptional Treat that would go with any Fancy Meal (I get one mostly whenever I eat at a Steakhouse or an Italian Restaurant). A la Mode from Chateau Niagara Winery, a dessert like Wine with major Sweet Notes that would finish off any Meal. Merritt Estate Winery showing off their Unique heavenly blended XTC Sangria (as tasted and featured in Wine Slushies at the Taste of Buffalo).
The amount of Citrus sends jolts throughout your Body makes you feel like your in Ecstasy. I was feeling rather Grape-ful with the Sample of Concord Grape Wine from Johnson Estate Winery, Sour notes throughout with a Robust Purple color. Rose wine from Certo Brothers Distributing, Light and Luscious Pink Wine with flavors of Red Fruit and bitter notes something like that of Rhubarb.
The only Booze/Liquor at the Event that I had was from Black Button Distilling, sampling Sweet Desserts like shots of Apple Pie Moonshine (with its sweet Start and Cinnamon Burst at the End), Vanilla Cream Bourbon (with its Chocolate Milk like appearance) was Subtlely sweet but not overbearing with the Natural Bourbon Flavor.
Also trying Gin mixed with Grapefruit Soda and Bourbon with Ginger Beer (both came on Strong with Profound Flavor Profiles). I must say whether they put on a show on Stage or all around at different Tables waiting to be sampled, I must say you will be Amused & Entertained !!! read more
