Pepperoni rolls are near and dear to my heart. They are comfort food from home. I have rarely found them outside of West Virginia so when I visit I pretty much eat a pepperoni roll diet for a week. The pepperoni rolls here are a bit different. They are soft and light and fluffy. Most of the ones I find are made from a thicker bread that's heavy and dense. I find the pepperoni and cheese ratio in these to be perfect. Not too much of any one ingredient. I tried the special of the week which was Crab Rangoon and I wish I didn't--not that it was bad, it just wasn't a real pepperoni roll. Then of course I got a regular one and a jalapeño one. My son got one regular and as we at them in the car he asked if he could have another so I gave him my card and back he went. They were about $4.50 each. Later when we came back through town after going to Blackwater and Douglas Falls, he asked for yet another and of course I obliged. I took mine to Blackwater Falls and ate it there. Nothing like enjoying West Virginia's most iconic waterfall while eating its most iconic food (sorry WV Slaw dogs). The liquor store here is convenient. Prices were only slightly marked up except on one bottle. The distillery and other stores have it for $65-69 and they had it for $110. I would have purchased it for the real retail price. They had a great selection of WV bourbons which was very nice. We will definitely be stopping here now each time we pass through, especially since Hellbenders closed.

My family of origin did not do biscuits and gravy, chicken wings, pizza, pepperoni rolls,.... We delight in the Mountain Pepperoni Roll Trail.... I've been here hundreds of times over the years, but I stopped in recently to grab a snack, use the bathroom, and get some gas for a little adventure up to Spruce Knob. FYI: This is one of the only places in the area to get gas that is usually open when you need it. Thank you because I forget to get gas in Elkins and everyone else was closed. Yikes! Every time I am here I enjoy eating their food whether from the store or the restaurant up stairs, I love looking around at all the cool stuff they have for sale, I am always buying this or that, and I truly enjoy sparking up a convo with one of the owners or employees. I just added chopped onions that they already had in little containers to take. Together it made it a perfect meal. They did have an option of sliced or chopped tri-tip. My friend was trying to get an order of the chicken strips but every time it came out fresh people swarmed and immediately grabbed them. She decided not to be part of that swarm. I bought a handful of snacks to try on our road trip to NC and I wanted gift to my dad (an assortment of nuts) with a fave snack of his. This review is a year-in-the-making, but as I was coming back towards the northeast on I-81 I saw a sight for sore eyes -- a NEW Buc-ee's located in Mt. Crawford, VA! Mind you, it was opening week and this is the most northern location on the East Coast -- so you know it was packed! Regardless of the number of people, nothing -- not food, nor clothes , nor supplies -- was ever lacking! Everything was being bought out, and at the same time being replenished. Service was amazing, and their new Chicken and Fries were amazing! You need to get it with their dipping sauces, though. Buc-ee's was beautifully decorated for the grand opening, and traffic was flowing in and out easily. I'm sooooo happy that there is a Buc-ee's located on the 81 corridor, this is going to be one of my favorite stops on my trips! Gotta visit the BEAVER!

Food labeled with ingredients - noted I did pick up a fried chicken sandwich (seemed popular) and I will note in the display picture I saw a sauce on it that I pointed out to my partner as I wasn't sure what it was (he thought it was mayo/ I thought cheese and it ended up being a sauce) There wasn't a label on the display from what it was that I could see. It may have been my poor eyesight and will note they DID list all the packaging ingredients on the wrapper for food allergy in a big paragraph. But if you're a picky eater like me and want a brief restaurant-style menu item recap, I would be prepared to ask an employee. Fresh food was neatly packaged and hot food was hot. Beverage/ coffee areas were tidy and labeled. Buc-ee's is known for its bathrooms(according to Wikipedia), and this location definitely lived up to that culture. Lots of stalls and stocked bathroom areas. Parking was plentiful, with clear traffic signals and directions. Shopping carts were stored near the front doors if you wanted to grab one. I don't think I saw any places outside to return the cart so looked like you would have to keep it inside or wheel back to store if you wanted to drop off items to car. Areas for pets to take a break and smoker area were marked and looked well maintained. Despite the store being quite busy when we visited, the employees were friendly and mindful. Staff members were courteous and never seemed to be rushing or shoving past/around customers while in a hurry to complete their tasks. Some of staff were wheeling around things like carts full of products/ holding boxes, and I never felt like I would get bumped into by them. We had a positive experience asking for food samples and ordering items from behind the counter. We checked out at two different entrances as we made two trips. During checkout, I asked one employee even about the chanting and they took the time to enthusiastically explain what the chefs were chanting and shared a bit about the company culture, which explained yelling for fresh-goods. The only minor issue I encountered was when purchasing glassware. The cashier initially tried to place a Shotglass in a plastic bag with several other regular normal items, and I had to ask for additional wrapping to help protect it. He then wrapped it in an extra plastic bag. Would've been nice to have paper or something at the register to wrap it safely. Without the extra padding, it likely would have broken during the drive home. It's also a hazard if it's dropped in the parking lot, gas station areas or honestly anywhere on the premises. So that's why I'm giving 4 stars today. Otherwise, they very charming and smiling - great customer service at the very front entrance to come in. Overall, we had a very good experience and want to stop again at this gas station during our road trips if we are in area.

There is also a convenience store/deli here, so you can fuel up on sandwiches and convenience store junk food as well. What I can't quite figure out is how in the world this place has a Purcellville address, it's quite a long way to Purcellville from here!
