I used to really like stopping at Store #197 on Fairfax St in Stephens City, Virginia, but a recent experience has been less than expected. Ordered 2 beef sliders adding mayo, jalapeno, shredded lettuce, but there was hardly any mayo (could barely see it) on the bread, and only one dime-size jalapeno in each slider. Is this Sheetz's management so stingy that they are unable to put more than one small slice of jalapenos on a slider and put less mayo on the bread then what would normally be found in one packet of mayo? And, it wasn't like there were tomatoes or any other condiments requested so there was definitely room without overstuffing the slider. Don't understand why they have gone down in quality. very disappointed! read more

Mostly stopped to fix the roof on the rented Jeep but while i was here, I popped in for a bottle of water and a quick pee. As is customary with Sheetz, the place is clean, well lit, well stocked and has everything you need to get on the road. Amazingly, the prices for food and for gas are competitive. We used to live in VA and really liked Sheetz and the quality of the coffee and food we would find there. We were passing through on our way back home in NH and were so excited to stop and treat ourselves to breakfast...mistake! The bagels were VERY dry and hard, the eggs were cold...and they forgot our hash browns completely!! (This was after they messed up the sandwich order!) Maybe this one location is the exception, but I don't think we'll be stopping at any more Sheetz on this trip! read more

I'm going to stop ordering from this sheetz because every time my order is wrong and the food is cold. I order off the app. And pre pay but they can only refund you at the store. For example they forgot part of my order and I didn't notice until I got home and I called and they said I had to come back to the store for a refund!! I definitely would not recommend!!!! read more

Four stars for a Sheetz you say???? For what it is, yup. This is our "go to" place on our way to enjoy the old-time traditional delights of the Stephens City "Family Drive-In", one of the few drive-in movie theatres still in existence. While we always bring a cooler already filled with soft drinks, & have usually already picked up our snacks, it's a tradition back from our days living in the area much closer to this theatre to still stop here to pick up MTO subs - which have always been great. Nice fresh bread, great choice of toppings, prompt service (unless you get there late & are competing with everyone else headed to the drive-in - lol!!!). Anyway - they've never disappointed us, & with spring right around the corner & the drive-in season about to begin, I'm already looking forward to my next Stephens City Sheetz MTO sub as the film begins. read more

I have always liked Sheetz, but this place really disappoints. 30 minutes to get two hot dogs (never arrived) and after complaints the guy at the counter refunded us our money and said he called the number out several times. Except that is the only order that must have been handled by him, since the other orders were handled by the guys making the food. I've been to multiple Sheetz over the years and I love their MTO (made to order) items. This location in particular seemed to be understaffed. There appeared to have one person working the register and one guy making the food. This would be fine and all, but this was the day of the eclipse so there was a thunderous crowd of people traveling to see it. We ordered one half sandwich, two hot dogs, and a side order of boneless wings. It took over 35 minutes to get my food, to put that in perspective the MTO at most places takes around 15. The orders were all out of order, people who came before me got served after me, people who ordered at the same time got it later, people who ordered after me got it first and so on.....when we finally got the order, the wings were supposed to be tossed but it looked like he had dumped half the bottle on and shut the lid. The sand which was stuffed with condiments causing the bread to get soggy and leak fillings, and the hotdogs had two spots of mustard. Look, I get it. If you're understaffed, you're understaffed. But this should not happen as a major corporation. If a manager sees his employees are stretched to the ABSOLUTE bare minimum, he needs to get over there and work themselves. It's not fair to the cashier, who was being berated with complaints of the line and it's not fair to the prep cook who is supposed to have at least 2 other people helping him. Even though the food was a MESS, I give it another star and a free pass because things like this do happen in the food industry and we can't claim people for doing their jobs to the best of their abilities. read more

I was in today around lunch and it was super busy and no parking due to the construction. I'm not complaining, I know its temporary. I got the chili dogs...great as usual. I wanted to compliment the cashier, Gretchen. Even though it was super busy and she was the only one at the cash register at the time, she was very nice and took the time to adjust the lid on my drink. Great customer service is rare these days.
