As a first class after my thanksgiving gluttony, I really appreciated the core, hips and lower back practice this past friday. The space itself is also excellent. There is a lot of natural light and the spaces on the floor are marked off with tape, so people fit themselves in symmetrically, without having to be told to make room by the teacher before a class starts. I've been an occasional visitor to Yoga Great Barrington over the past few years, and have always had a great experience- a good community vibe, great instruction and never over-crowded. Really appreciate this place.

All of the teachers are amazing and the owner, Kerry is kind and compassionate to everyone who walks through her door. Not only has Kerry created a relaxing and tranquil space to practice yoga, she has created a sanctuary for all to celebrate and honor your mind and body no matter your shape, size, age or activity level. There is a wide variety of classes, from a slow flow "feel grounded" to a more pilates based "feel strong" and each of the teachers bring a different flavor to each class. Kerry is always thinking of new experiences to bring to the studio and connect with her fellow community members through partnerships, workshops and special events. Not only does she host yoga based classes and events but she has expanded to sound bathing, reiki, massage, tarot reading and so much more! I've never been the type of person to broaden my horizons and try new activities such as these, but Kerry and the YogaLee community makes me feel comfortable enough to give them a whirl. These classes were amazing and so were the energetic, friendly and skilled instructors whose creativity and personalities powered the classes.. I am 76 1/2 years old and felt perfectly comfortable in an environment where I was encouraged to go at my own pace. My husband felt totally comfortable in the Barre class as did the other man there.Excellent management. Can't wait to return with an unlimited class membership.

Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy with Johanna - A Rare and Beautiful Experience…read more I came to my session with Johanna feeling emotionally raw after a difficult stretch -- grieving and caretaking for loved ones. What she offered wasn't just a session -- it was presence, stillness, and deep care. Johanna held the space with such gentleness and clarity. Her presence was grounding, nonjudgmental, and intuitive. During the session, when she placed her hands on my feet, I wept. Not from sadness exactly -- but from the relief of experiencing true kindness. It had been a long time. That simple act of connection reminded me what safety and support can feel like in a body. Johanna didn't rush, didn't try to fix or analyze. She just stayed -- and in that stillness, I found something I hadn't realized I'd lost.
