Worst salon in the area! quality is horrible. and they are SO incredibly rude and hateful. They always do a rushed horrible job. I came back here because it was closest, but it was a horrible experience, JUST as it was last time. I've read so many other reviews stating the exact same. We need to stop supporting this establishment. There are so many other salons in Shelbyville that are wonderful. Came here to get a pedicure & full set. For the pedicure I didn't want polish. And for the full set I showed apparently the new owner, he laughed & said u want all that. The other lady did the service & when I showed her what i wanted her response was " I'll try." I didn't get what i wanted & my skin around the nail is so Dry, the acrylic it's self is way to thick & I didn't even get the shape I wanted. I paid Louisville price here in shelbyville. Do an ok job. They always want you to pay cash . wonder if that's for tax reasons. If you do not have cash you get dirty looks like they're pissed off at you. Most people do not carry cash on them all the time. I will probably just go elsewhere where I don't feel like I'm being judged because I don't carry cash on me. read more

I am an older retired Military officer who has severe back issues! I usually get a pedicure and a manicure because of my back conditions. Thought I'd give Shelby Nails a try. They started the manicure first and told me to sit down. She asked me something but I couldn't hear and said "pardon me", but she never answered! I just followed her pointing! My feet were not in the water 10 seconds to soak before she started hacking away. They never did get to soak! I was not in that chair much more than 5 or 6 minutes when she put some lotion on my legs and wiped it off in 20seconds! She said I'm done! She asked about my manicure and if I just wanted my nails cut. I was already ready to get out of there, so said just cut them. She cut them only and said your done! That will be $40.00 cash no debt card excepted! What a horrible business! She also, was about as courteous as a brama bull! We don't need a business like this one in Shelbyville!! I won't be back. My girl friend and I went for pedis. There were 2 people working on a Sunday. We waited for almost an hour and a half before being worked on. They seated us about 30 min after arrival and put us in the pedi chairs. Our water was cold before they got to us. Had there been more staff, I think we might have had a better experience. My grandmother and I went to Shelby nails for a girls day while I was visiting from Washington state. That was the worst decision we could've made. They ripped my grandmothers cuticle so badly it was bleeding, the lady ignored it, and the cut became sensitive to temperature and touch for days. They finished two full manicures in less than 10 minutes. They did not soften our cuticles, hence my grandmothers cut, they just put this oil on it and that was all. They squirted some lotion on and barely rubbed it in, just to go tell us to wash it all off. The man doing my nails kept sneezing on his shoulder and not covering his mouth and continuously wiped snot on his arm while doing my manicure. They did very thin coats and made us pay BEFORE they even started. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL. They also bantered about gel polish and how we were not smart for getting regular polish...I could go on about the lack of professionalism and friendliness. read more

Horrible! Walked in, two clinicians,no customers there. Requested 2 manicures/pedicures. Badgered repeatedly to get a "gel" manicure even though repeatedly said "no" Argued as to why not. Pedicure very basic. Only used one warm towel draped across both feet instead of wrapping each foot. Started manicure while getting pedicure. One of us the entire manicures done in pedicure chair. Nail polish all over cuticle bed. Not a neat or professional job by any means. Charged 35 each which is avg charge. I would try anywhere else before this establishment. read more

I went there in June as a visitor from NJ. Boy did they see me coming. They charged me $50 for a pedicure that was supposed to be $25. Then when she rang up $25 because she was used to charging that. She harassed me for what would the tip be what would the tip be. She confused me so much I over paid. I went back later that day and told them I was over charged. They reversed the one charge but still tried to charge $50 and the original $25. Just because I am out of towner does not mean you rip me off. Be careful with your money here. I would go to another salon just to be sure. Work was okay and the owner was reasonable about my needing a refund where as the woman started yelling at me. No where on there board did it say $50 for out of towners or $50 for a pedicure. I won't be going back. Will you take the risk??????? read more
