Katrina at Sheldon Cleaners is truly one of those rare people who makes your day better the moment you meet her. She is funny, cheerful, genuine, and her follow-up/customer service is absolutely impeccable. It was Memorial Day, and my husband dropped off our dry cleaning because we assumed they were closed for the holiday and hadn't put our clothes out for pickup. The very kind pickup gentleman let us know the store was actually open until 3:00 with limited holiday hours. Later that day, I unfortunately had an accident on a silk blouse I planned to wear, so we made a second trip to the cleaners. The moment we went through the drive-through, Katrina immediately started teasing my husband about what he forgot, and we all shared some laughs. During our conversation, she also shared a story about how she and her husband helped someone who was going through a difficult time. It was such a genuine reminder that kindness still exists and that there are truly good-hearted people in the world. Recently stopped this location to get a garment dry cleaned for vacation. There was a lady with glasses talking obnoxiously on her phone the whole time while I was assisted by an incompetent woman. I decided instantly that I would never come back so I put my garments underneath my Aunt's account. I put in specific instructions that I did not want my items starched. When I received my garments, they were completely stiff and almost impossible to wear. From the lack of professionalism and horrible customer service, I wouldn't even trust my clothes with this company again. read more

I want to preface by saying the front of house staff is always kind, engaging and a joy to talk to, acknowledging my concerns and available to help. For the rest of the business I have nothing kind to say. Over 2 different occasions, 3 items were returned to me with a dry cleaning stain. Not small spots that might be hard to miss, but large water like stains. Over the phone I was then told that I should have looked at all of my clothing closely to make sure it was ok by a manager that I have never seen at the store location. I had to take one item to a new location to have the stain removed. Trying to give benefit of the doubt, I gave them another shot with a winter coat that has a belt. The coat was returned to me with no belt. 1 month later I received notification from a different location that I had items available for pickup. When I checked with my local Sheldon's Cleaner they told me I had nothing to pick up. Again, I receive the notification so I called the number that was to a different location of which I have never been and this time they said that they have had my belt for over a month. I had already purchased a new belt as mine was no where to be found. Update: They offered to deliver everything and I clearly told them NOT to deliver on Monday the 29th as I wouldn't be home until late. Well they delivered all of my things on Monday the 29th and they were on the floor around my front porch that is not covered. I emailed customer support, did not get a response so called the next day. I was referred to the route manager, he offered to reclean. As you can imagine, based on the last 3 issues, I declined as why on earth would I trust them with my clothing again considering the lack of attention to detail and proper care. He told me he would work on my refund. Well a week goes by and not a single phone call, email, contact of any kind. I call again and was told accounting would contact me. They never did. This time I finally notified AMEX of services not rendered but payment taken and email customer support and the email you see is the literal first email correspondence I received in 9 days after my complaint. They made me chase them around to get the issue resolved and refuse to give a full refund despite all of my items being covered in pollen and 2 items being open and covered in dirt. They do not care about customer service. I was told that they still performed a service. It is good to know that should I choose to run a business as, say, a home cleaner, I can say I will clean your house then carelessly leave all of the doors open for anything to find its way in, leaving a mess of leave, dust and debris and say "sorry I DID clean it but left it a mess due to carelessness so you still owe me over half payment as technically the service was performed before you saw the mess left." Two occasions now that $900 worth of my property has been lost or ruined. We took a comforter in and it was swapped with another customers. Same brand, NOT the same comforter. We've been disputing this error since OCTOBER. Complete lack of communication or willingness to help. The last resolution we received was that we would be mailed a gift card for the value of the comforter. Have yet to receive, when followed up I was told that this was not an option and that we would receive a $300 CREDIT! I then recently took two winter coats in to be cleaned and they were both ruined. The filling completely balled up and the coats have lost their shape. Was told this was a manufacturing issue as the label on the coats don't say to dry clean. At what point do you then give the customer a courtesy call before moving forward. I have also had these coats dry cleaned before no problem. It has now been over 3 weeks since I've received any communication regarding either issue after multiple phone calls and emails. Terrible service and will be sure to continue spreading the bad business practices within our local community. Beyond disappointed. read more

Bad experience. Service is rude and prices are high. Dropped off a coat for a funeral , they said it would be done next today for the funeral. When I went to pick it up they didn't have it. They sent it off site for "more thorough cleaning" but no one called me to see if I want this if it meant it wouldn't be ready in time. Sorry to say I won't be going back here again read more

I have used this dry cleaners for 8 years and they do a fantastic job. I love the drive up window so l don't have to leave my car. I signed up for their Express Bag and l put all my clothes in the bag. It has a tag with my info on it, so l literally pull up and the staff grab it from my back seat. Very friendly, especially Kara. She knows my name and often gets my dry cleaning before even opening the sliding glass door! Plus they give me lots of coupons which come in handy as well. I highly recommend them. read more

I can only speak for the Gaslight Village location... We have used Sheldon Cleaners for many years. Our weekly drop-off consists mainly of my husbands dress-shirts and pants. On occasion and without hesitation, I have sent my good dresses, sweaters, skirts in for cleaning. We have never had a problem. The service is friendly, accommodating...the laundry always comes back smelling and looking clean. Five stars for years of consistent and clean laundry service. read more

I'm not even sure where to begin. I loved using Sheldon due to the convenience of several locations..however after over 6 mishaps ( why did I go back after the second is beyond me)- I now have clothing items that are completely ruined and several items that were brought in to be cleaned and stain removal service (stain still was in both upon pickup) and another dress that now has tears and rips through tulle that didn't before bringing to Sheldon to be cleaned. The stained clothes- after I picked up and noticed the stain was still there- I was able to get out myself. The services provided are completely unreliable and destructive. I have also addressed my concerns with customer service via email back in March with 0 reply. I highly recommend going elsewhere if you want your personal items to be taken care of properly. read more

I tried four dry cleaners until I found Sheldon. They exceed all of my expectations every week. I had a dog get sick on my comforter and brought it into Sheldon and they helped me wash it right away for a total cost of about $4.00 in their laundry mat. They are first class all the way. read more

Horrible. Just Horrible. I took a suit in to get cleaned, and the creas on the pants was pressed wrong, so now I have a double crease. They did a HORRIBLE job on a tux shirt I brought in... just sloppy. They cracked a button on a brand new shirt. Every other shirt I brought in all had areas that were missed and not pressed. This store is two blocks from my house, so I gave it a second try, but no...I just can't do it. Every single item was done poorly. Had a awesome overall first time experience, the cute bubbly young lady was very helpful, she even offered me a pick up and drop off service WOW talk about your rodeo drive action there.. The Sheldon team on Wealthy St. in EGR is great! I am a fairly frequent customer, and they always say hello and remember me when I come in! Sheldon does a great job with dry cleaning, too. I feel so comfortable knowing they use a PERC free dry cleaning process -- the only dry cleaners in Grand Rapids so far! No more smelly dry cleaned clothes that need to be "aired out" before wearing.
