There is a picnic area and some bathrooms but the bathrooms are very old. I remember coming to this park as a kid and being my kids as well.

The bridge has the best view. Best part is just walking around. It has over a mile of paved trails. This means you won't get muddy even walking in the woods. Family friendly and many opportunities for education and entertainment. They have a safety town. It's along the bike path near the entrance. This features pretend buildings like the fire station and the police station. It seems good for the whole family. Kids can learn about safety. The rest of the park has great views of the creek and the woods.

If you've ever driven past an old rock quarry and wanted an opportunity to go exploring inside, this is the place to do it! I thought it was very exciting. Young and old can have fun here. The trails are very easy and it's a simple network. One trail circles the quarry and one trail easily slopes into the quarry. Once on the floor of the quarry, you can pretty much roam around wherever the quarry gods take you. This visit was an "add-on" to a trip to Cedar Point and the Sandusky area. On my next visit, I will be sure to include this park again... for sure.

These wetlands are remnants of the Great Black Swamp, which once covered an area 120 miles long and 30-40 miles wide. Nature enthusiasts enjoy viewing an abundance of waterfowl and shorebirds in the park's scenic wetlands, as well as from the swimming beach and picnic areas along the lake. Our family and Apache camper began a series of visits in 1967, and East Harbor has remained a favorite. Greatly enjoyed the beaches, which now have a three-foot stone barrier to prevent erosion. We visit year round. The surrounding area has become somewhat commercialized. Lots of campers and fisher folks. In our early visits, we discussed a holiday at the State Park rather than a trip to the Outer Banks or to Hilton Head... My dear wife observed that an annual Atlantic Ocean Beach holiday was elemental to our life style.

Now I already know I'll be back, because we only explored part of it -- but what my sister, her pup, and I wandered through was fun, peaceful, and a little adventurous. At one point there was literally a giant mallard just standing in the middle of the woods like he owned the place. And then there were stairs that climb straight up the side of the mountain -- okay, hill -- but it felt like a mountain in the best way. The whole walk made me feel free. If you ever find yourself wanting a moment outside, a breath of fresh air, or just a place to wander, stop here. It's worth it.

We camped here 4th of July weekend and had a great time…read more This is a big campground with several sections. The signage makes it easy to find your spot. I will say the spots are somewhat smaller compared to other Ohio state parks we stayed at. The slots are not angled so it can be tricky to back in. They do offer lots of pull through options. Inside the campground there is a boat launch, lots of extra parking, shower houses, camp store, game room, and nature center. They don't offer a lot of activities but there were a few. My kids just loved riding our bikes up to the beach and playing in the lake. There is a nice bike bath that makes it easy to get there. There is no food in the area so bring your own or be prepared to drive.

One rude group kept everyone up until 3am. And many campers left so much food, booze bottles and garbage everywhere. Several of the bathrooms ran out of toilet paper. The trails were mostly mowed and taken care of.
