    Gas prices

We came out of the twin lakes to find this gas station saw the prices as 6:59 a gallon. Overpriced we are now getting contact of the state to shut this business down. This is illegal overpricing.

Stopped here for some gas and a bit to eat on our way back from Lake Tahoe. Lot's of horrible reviews on this place. Glad that wasn't our experience. Gas was high but I sorta expect that in places like this. We found the staff to be friendly and informative. We bought a couple of sandwiches and some coffee and enjoyed the views of the distant mountains while sitting on the picnic tables outside.

Gas prices 6/24/22. You'll pay less in the other towns nearby.

They have lots of snacks, and restrooms inside the store. The people were friendly enough both times I was here. Those gas prices are no joke though; you would do well to fill up before or after Bridgeport if you can.

I don't care about the bathroom issue like everyone else here has posted. It's their toilets, it's not a rest stop, whatever. Gas prices were ridiculous, that's true, but the independent station just down the street is only 10 cents cheaper per gallon than this Shell. Both of them are still $1.50 per gallon higher than the gas in my city right now. Heck, even the gas station at Topaz Lake just 40 miles up 395 was over $1.25 cheaper per gallon. Gas at the Chevron in Gardnerville is $1.40 cheaper! So if any of these Bridgeport Shell goons say it's because of their remoteness that their prices are higher it's all BS. I take real umbrage with the amount of crap I got from the two turkeys working when I asked them to turn the air on so I could fill up my tires. You'd have thought I told them I shot their dogs. They looked at me with disgust and exasperation. They told me it would be a dollar to turn the machine on. I looked at them incredulously. Seriously? You can't just flip the switch and turn the air on? No, that will be $1. I bought $60 in gas from you two days ago when I was heading through Bridgeport! Guy looks at me like Jabba the Hut looked when he was getting strangled by Princess Leia. Smashes his sausage finger on the register, pulls out four quarters, hands them to his buddy, Toothless Joe, who literally meets me out back and puts the quarters in the machine for me, like I'm going to steal a dollar in quarters. FFS! Then I start filling and I'm literally able to fill up two tires from 25psi to 40psi before the air stops. Not daring to ask for four more quarters because, you know, it's such a huge imposition, I put my own quarters in the machine, even though, you know, $60 in gas, and fill up the other two tires. Here's the rub, the independent station down the street doesn't have air, or so the lady told me. So if you want air in Bridgeport save your frigging receipt in case you're passing back through a day or two or seven days later otherwise, apparently, if you ask for air you've done something ISIS level atrocious. Btw: AB 531 states: Existing law requires every service station in this state to provide, during operating hours, water, compressed air, and a gauge for measuring air pressure, to the public for use in servicing any passenger or commercial vehicle, as defined. Existing law provides that the failure of an owner or manager of a service station to have adequate water and air facilities for use by the public for 5 consecutive working days constitutes a rebuttable presumption that the owner or manager has intentionally violated these provisions. An intentional violation of these provisions is an infraction punishable by a fine not to exceed $50 per day. This bill would require that these air and water services be made available at no cost to customers who purchase motor vehicle fuel, as defined. The bill would require service stations to place and maintain a specified sign regarding these services.

It is approximately half way between Reno and Bishop, so, it's a great place to stop geographically.

So people in the car are getting antsy and wanting to stop for a potty and drink break, so I tell…read morethem I'll stop in Bridgeport. And I have the Shell station in my head that I usually stop at, and that is where we will stop. Except when we pull into town there seem to be a lot of cars at the Shell station and no cars at the Gas & Go next door, and I start to feel sorry for the Gas & Go and decide to stop there instead. What a huge mistake. The reason there were no cars at the Gas & Go are: --They are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. --The hag behind the counter was completely rude, and didn't once acknowledge us, even though we came in all chipper telling her "Good Morning!" --The bathroom was icky. --There are no trash cans. Not one. So don't expect to dump your car trash here. Just bad. Bad, bad, bad, bad.

The old mean man behind the counter was RUDE RUDE RUDE when I asked to use the restroom. He told me, and I quote: "our bathrooms are for paying customers only!" Um, my husband was out front getting ready to pump gas into our truck, so I think that qualified me as a "customer." I didn't use his restroom. I flew out the door and told my hubby that we aren't buying gas from this frog! From the other reviews, perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that I didn't use the restroom there. Those old hags -- the woman and the man -- need to retire if they don't want to deal with the public. Once again, my mantra -- if you don't like people you shouldn't be in the service industry. Simple enough. They should find the nearest bridge and be trolls. Much more entertaining! I should print these reviews and hand deliver them to that place the next time we are passing through Bridgeport -- because you know they don't have Internet and don't know what Yelp is.

We order two slices of pizza: hands down the worst pizza we've had in many years. Akin to one of those decade-old hot dogs that you see on a rolling grill at a gas station, probably from the Jimmy Carter years, but in pizza form. We ordered tacos: not bad, but unbelievably lame. Also: $28 for tacos? Jesus Christ. The view is nice, but so is absolutely every view conceivable in this area. If you like gas station food and $20 cheese burgers, this is your spot. Knock yourself out. If not, go anywhere else but this place.

I've got to agree with the average here and go 3-stars. This store just lacked a lot of opportunity…read morein my opinion. I tend to love shopping at these local markets when visiting smaller towns in the Eastern Sierra because they typically have great local goods, fun merchandise, quality local charm and character, and lively local operators who are happy to see you there. We popped into this shop in search of water and some ice cream novelties, which we certainly found, but beyond that, it was pretty bare bones and basic. The shelves were also pretty sparse, and the selection a bit thin too. Usually you can find just about anything you need in one of these stores, but unfortunately I'd say that you'd need to visit here and Ken's to guarantee you'll find what you need and may even find yourself driving to the next town for certain things. The shop is good in an emergency moment, but could be much more.

This store is a very critical stop for anything you'd need in between big shopping trips out of town. It has a good variety of touristy souvenirs, pantry staples, grocery items (meat, dairy, some produce), and items you'd find at a hardware or drug store. If you are in town for a fishing trip and need supplies...if you are passing through and want to pick up some snacks or goodies (try the Bridgeport Coffee Roasters coffee beans--they are delicious!), then this is a great stop for you.
