First thing to know, Downtown Omaha is kind of a grocery store desert - or at least that was the impression I got from my visit. We were travelling with our toddler and while I KNOW she should be 100% off bottles, we are picking our fights and she still enjoys one with her milk in the morning and in the evening. That being said, we only brought two bottles and planned on cleaning them as we went. Our only problem was we forgot dish soap. After asking the front desk where would be the easiest place to find some they recommended Cubby's and they were right! While you pay convenience store prices, it was easy to pick up what we needed and they had a few options which was nice. The store itself has a good variety of food, snacks, odds and ends, and likely serves as a little grocer for anyone who lives nearby. I wouldn't say I loved this place so much I would definitely return, but I will say it was clean, had what we needed, and was conveneint, which really was about all I could ask for in a nearby convenience store.

Sometimes a little higher than you would find at a larger supermarket...but you won't find a larger supermarket in this part of town! It's in the Brandeis Building, and to not distract from the majesty, the signage is kept small and vague, so you may not realize the Dollar General goodness available here. This would surely cheer up my little one as we are on food stamps and don't get to get gas station Pizza so this was a rare treat. It was a different story when I arrived at the cash register the cashier wanted to charge me for it, I explained the conversation I just had with another employee and she said that even they have to pay for it when they're getting ready to throw it out. Now I had to explain to my three-year-old of course he didn't understand that we weren't going to get any pizza so once I got out to the car I realize that I had five bucks in my pocket that my mother had given to me to come and see her the following day so I went back and I got the pizza I'm now sitting in my car and watching the employees laugh about our encounter while writing this review.
