Shell USA, Inc is encourage to investigate the handling of fuel reward promotions at Lincoln Square Market-Shell, 185 Washington St, Weymouth, MA 02188, on April 16, 2026, at approximately 2:54 PM. At the time of the incident, I had both a T-Mobile Tuesdays fuel reward and a one-time Shell reward applied to my purchase: a 15-cent-per-gallon discount and a 20-cent-per-gallon discount. Combined with the regular 5-cent member discount, the total discount reduced the gas price to $3.799 per gallon. These rewards were clearly shown in the Fuel Rewards app, and I had waited a long time to stack and use them together for a full purchase. I entered my member phone number in the store, the discounts were successfully applied, and I prepaid $30 by credit card for gas at approximately 2:54 PM. I was expecting to use the rewards on the full prepaid amount. However, pump #3 stopped when the meter reached only $6.50, which was only a little more than one gallon of gas. I returned to the store to ask what had happened, and the station owner told me that there was no gas available. A refund receipt for $23.50 was then printed at approximately 2:58 PM. After this occurred, I attempted to pay again in order to continue pumping gas, but I was unable to use the discounts again because the T-Mobile reward and Shell reward were one-time-only offers and had already disappeared after the first failed transaction. As a result, I left the gas station without completing the intended purchase and without being able to recover the rewards that had already been consumed. Because of this failed transaction, I lost the benefit of both rewards through no fault of my own. The combined 40-cent-per-gallon discount was effectively applied only to the $6.50 transaction, which was approximately 1.712 gallons, instead of the full $30 purchase I intended to make. In the end, the rewards saved me only about $0.60, rather than the roughly $3 to $4 in savings I reasonably expected from using them on the full prepaid transaction. What concerns me most is that the station accepted the discounted transaction, allowed the one-time rewards to be consumed, then the pump stopped almost immediately, and afterward I was unable to use those rewards again. From my perspective, the station operator either improperly handled the transaction or allowed a situation in which a customer could lose one-time promotional rewards on an incomplete sale and then be forced to purchase fuel later at the regular price. This felt unfair, misleading, and financially harmful. I am also concerned by the possibility that the pump may have been intentionally stopped or that the station knowingly allowed the transaction to proceed despite being unable to deliver the prepaid amount of fuel. In particular, the circumstances raise the troubling possibility that the pump may have been stopped by the station owner himself because honoring the sale at the discounted price of $3.799 per gallon may have caused the station to sell fuel at little profit or at a loss. I cannot confirm that this occurred, but the sequence of events raises serious questions that I believe warrant investigation. I respectfully request that your office review this matter as a possible instance of unfair or deceptive business conduct affecting a Massachusetts consumer. I also request that the station be asked to preserve and review any relevant evidence, including: CCTV footage from approximately 2:45 PM to 3:15 PM on April 16, 2026; Pump #3 transaction and operating logs for that same time period; and Any records showing how the rewards were applied and consumed in connection with this failed transaction. I further request assistance in obtaining an appropriate resolution, including restoration or reimbursement of the lost T-Mobile Tuesdays and Shell rewards. read more

Don't bother with the car wash. I was there on 9-2-22 at 8am. Only the right side of the machine worked with the final rinse and the tire shine machine didn't work. I asked the white guy that pumps gas and you would've thought I just called his mother a bad name by the look he gave me. that place is horrible, never again. oh and there's a number in there on the wall that you can call for problems but of course no one picks up read more

Fine place, but definitely has a few problems. And for that matter, if you don't feel like dealing with pushy, rude, and presumably uneducated customers, don't even bother (that's the first reason I won't be back). Yes there is a difference between Weymouth and Hingham (or my town..... Westwood), but the customers who use this place are absolutely ridiculous. When coming home from the beach, sometimes I make it through Hingham, and others I trek through Weymouth. On one very day, a Sunday, I was looking for a place to stop and get the Sunday paper and a few snacks. This little store on Route 53 looked new, clean and the perfect place. It's clean, organized, and new in comparison to other convenience stores, has a DD inside, and has beer too. Staff were friendly and the variety was perfect for what I needed. There is a full serve gas station attached, being that you are not allowed to pump your own gas in Weymouth, and a car wash too. My largest complaint (-1 star) is the parking situation. There are very, very few spaces available and those that are available are tough to get to. If they had more space and a better layout, a rude old man wouldn't have approached me and took me to move my car this instant. I wasn't even blocking his way! For the people who shop here (like the man...), they just say things that really aren't appropriate in public, and some are quite rude. I expect more from Weymouth. Pulled in to get gas, gave the guy my card and said fill it please. His attitude sucked- as if he didn't have time to do this. He filled it gave me my card and walked away. I know of 5 incidences now (one involving myself) where people have gone to the gas station requesting a certain $ amount of gas and the gas attendant will fill the tank claiming he "didn't hear" or "thought you said something else". 5 times??? No prominent sign that it's full service. When the attendant approached my car, I asked for a certain dollar amount. Yes me something but due to the construction next-door I couldn't hear so I asked him to repeat he said it again but I could still couldn't hear because he was at the rear of my car and not talking to me through my window. I asked again and he yelled (raised his voice) at me to open up my gas tank when I was doing to try to ask what his question was. He didn't swipe my card and popped it after he walked away and the pump kept going I knew that he was exceeding what I told him to pop in for gas and completely filled my tank against my express direction of how much I wanted him to pump. read more

I drove across town, walked in the store at 10:50 and was told the store was closed - and that it closes at 10:50 every night. Mind you, there was a customer at the register, the door was open, and the sign on the door clearly indicates the store is open daily until 11 PM. I explained that I drove all that way, but nope. Stopped in a couple times here for gas, and to buy something from the store. The 2 times I've gone in, there has been no one at the counter. The couple times I've been there for gas the attendant has been slow or just sitting there in his little hide out. Also the damn air machine didn't work the last time I went in. I had to get quarters from the girl at the Dunks counter (because again there was no one at the Shell counter) and then the damn machine didn't work... Really? Drive through the landing and get your gas elsewhere. 2 starts just because the Dunks here is good. read more

Extremely rude staff. Went to get gas at this station and when I asked for 91 octane gas the gas pump gentleman told me I instead asked for regular gas. I laughed this off and said no problem but if I can get the 91 octane that would be great. After finishing, he comes around and I have my credit card in my hand and go to hand it to him. Instead of taking it or explaining anything, the man looks at me and goes "are you f*cking kidding me? You could have told me you were paying with your card at the beginning". I should have spoken to the manager then and there but I was already late to an event I was attending. Despite trying to call the station, I have been unable to reach anyone at this point. Hopefully management will read this and take appropriate steps. read more

When they pump your gas watch them i gave them my stop and shop card and i saw the guy put in a shell reward card tried to tell me i had 20 cents off the gallon but i actually had 40 cents hes got flustered when i said something and the "re did" my card and shocking i had 40 cents off the gallon. read more

I was on my way to the highway and stopped at the Lincoln Square Shell Station for gas. I was able to wash my car grab snacks inside. I had no idea they sell beer and wine. I was able to get everything I need for my friends BBQ; ice, beer, snacks and went through the touch free car wash. In and out in 10 minutes. Love this place. read more
