The employees Olga and Bati Pulga have the worst attitude. I came here looking it purchase a lottery ticket and simply asked when the next drawing is. They were so incompetent and ignorant, from a lack of the English language, they couldn't even answer my question. Other customers in line were laughing at how terrible these women are. Then Bati Pulga comes out and screams at me at the top of her lungs each of the lottery draws. Are you serious? This is how you treat customers? The owner needs to take serious account of whom he hires. I guess they pay these women minimum wage and they are miserable as other yelpers gave mentioned. This Chevron Gas station is one of the cheaper ones in the area. If you're here, I'd fill up if I were you. If you go more inland, the prices jump up by 20 cents. Another cheaper location is in Playa del Rey. There's an Arco off of Manchester, however if you're going there it's better to have Cash. Because they charge you if you use your debit card. This location is nice because it's easy to get in and out of. And it's right off the 405 freeway. There also seems to be wifi here but it never works right. While you're pumping your gas, you can also watch TV. They're a tv at every pump. Good deal. read more

This Shell Gas Station services the area of Fox Hills, Culver City, Mar Vista, Playa Del Rey over on the Westside at the corner of Jefferson and Centinella. This gas station regularly touts having much lower rates than the Chevron Gas Station down the road and it on a corner lot, so is easy to access from either direction on Centinella or Jefferson. On 05/20/15 I paid $4.09 per gallon for the mid-grade gas. If you're visiting from out of town with a car rental and returning your car towards the LAX Airport area, this is one of the cheaper places to buy your gas to re-fuel up as well. It's nearby the local hotels and is in a very safe area. read more

Do NOT try to buy lottery tickets here. The employees are slow, talk on the phone while helping the line, no parking, and the employees must hate the owner. You know how you can just tell someone hates their job? I feel sorry for them as this must be the only job they can get. Update: I gave two stars initially but after the irate employee this morning when I tried to buy a lottery ticket ... he was furious when I said do you think the machine will be working again tomorrow? Because they have all the lights on in the window but the machine is broken. He got furious and irate was shaking his hand at me as if to dismiss me. This after I paid $40 for gas. This is a zero star business, but I have to give at least one. So I will not be buying gas here anymore. And that's after using this place exclusively for quite some time. This shell station is the closest gas station to one of the most affluent areas in LA where one bedrooms are $2700-$4700 per month and town homes are 1-3 million bucks. The station could easily be in the worst part of downtown. They need to upgrade, do some cleaning just once, and rearrange the lot. Parking is super tight. Hard to get back out after you fill up if you want to get on the 405 or go on Centinela. First world problems just overpriced for a third world quality spot. read more

I like the fact that they are open 24 hours and Gloria who works the night shift is always so nice. Occasionally, they do some restocking in the middle of the night so there is no person at the window, they are in the back. It gets pretty crowded at times because of their location. Does anyone know what that gigantic contraption is next to the Handicap stalls? They had it put in a couple of years ago and a sign on it states that it is part of a mandated mediation. They have skimmers on the credit card pumps. It's SUPER conveinent for where I live, so I use this station all the time. They have the basic needs, except milk, which means I have to drive for that. Otherwise, people are nice, it's normally quick. As far as getting gas, it can be a huge cluster mess depending on the time of day. It's a tight area and has a business right next to it, which adds to the sometimes chaos, all in all it works and serves your quick needs. read more

One star off for the heavy traffic coming off centinella, making it difficult to get to the right turn lane to get to the 405 in the mornings. This gas station is always clean and fully stocked with windshield wipers and soapy water! Their peach air freshener will make your car smell like peaches and cream! Prices are high, but we are in Playa Vista. read more

Great location on the corner of Centinela and Jefferson. Can get pretty busy, especially with the big Playa Vista development down the road nowadays. It used to be a 76, and had this little "Space Cafe" (actually I think they spelled it "caffe" and had a little UFO pictured next to the sign which rendered it all the more endearing) but sadly that is gone. The Good: The staff is always nice and they're also the type to remember who you are and what you order if you're a regular, Open 24 hours a day, As far as Gas stations go, this is one of the cheaper ones, pretty easy to get in and out quickly when it's not busy. The Bad: When it gets busy here, it turns into a zoo. Everyone bunches up and tries to squeeze in while people that are done are trying to squeeze their way out. Since there is no parking area for people who are going in to buy snacks or smokes, they park in the most annoying places, blocking everyone from going anywhere. The Ugly: There's no customer bathroom here, so if you have to use the bathroom, you better book it to the Starbucks across the street, or book it to the alley around the corner, or buy a large drink, dump it, and go in there. read more

Other employees there are usually friendly and station is pretty clean. Beware the ATM... must've had a scanner at some point because every time I try to use it my card gets turned off for fraud alert. I then have to verify that I did indeed try to take out cash and they turn my card back on, but it's still a pain. read more

I cannot give more stars, unfortunately. The station itself is really clean and has lots of space. The store is great too, employees are wonderful always. But they almost don't have the parking space. I like to stop at gas stations to buy coffee and drink it near my car for 5 or 10 min, but could not do it, because there was no free space. Culver City friends - watch out for the Chevron Station on Centinela and Jefferson. I just found out that I allegedly bought 31 gallons of Premium gasoline at 11:00 PM on a Saturday night in January. This was using a credit card, which requires your Zip Code to verify but since I was in my home Zip Code they must have guessed correctly. I'm disputing it with Citibank but I'm betting they will want to cancel my card just in case. read more

i work behind this gas station. our company has about 400 people. we have realized that any time we have had fraudulent activity on our bank accounts its due to using credit/debit cards at this establishment. they have scanners at the pumps that allow thieves to duplicate your card. do not go there & if you do, use cash. i am in the process of filing a complaint via the local police and news stations on behalf of hundreds of my co-workers. read more

Three days later BOTH cards had been duplicated and were being used at Chevron stations across LA county spending around $125 each time. We exchanged two propane tanks here, and discovered about a month later, when we went to use them, that the valves didn't work on either tank. They refused to give me new tanks, even though these are full and obviously defective! I'll never, ever use this gas station for any reason, ever. This is the worst place in the area to get gas - at pump 4 on a busy Friday night, pressing the octane rating I want at least half a dozen times and nothing happens. I go to the guy on duty, do him the courtesy of going through the doors, not shouting from outside. He moves his index finger back and forth and says "you gotta play with it, you gotta find it - try it again." It's a square of less than an inch, how elusive could the sweet spot be? He says "you're the first one to complain . . . tonight." Instead of dealing with the sneering kid behind the glass who points at the sign, I left, passing the next Chevron east on Jefferson, figuring it likely has the same clumsy interface, ended up back at the Shell on Overland and Venice, where they apparently want your money. Chevron may not miss my $50, but I'll go where the pump works the first time. read more

Warning: this gas station steals your gas money! If you pay cash, when the pump is near the amount you paid, it stops filling up but keeps charging. e.g. pay $20, no gas flows around/after $19.50, and they pocket the remaining amount - they bank on your not paying attention. if you pay by credit card, watch out for the same scam as well as for extra charges appearing on your card.
