WEST STOP STATION (tire shop on site) IS THE PLACE TO GO!! Rick helped me out when I needed someone, no one in 50 miles was able to help me except Rick. I had a nail in my tire and after calling around (most places never answered) he answered right away and quoted me. When I got there we pointed out how bad the tire was and changed it out super quickly. Super friendly guy!! They got super cute n friendly cats to you can hang with while you wait! All I can say is "price gouging". I was on fumes or I would have never stopped there. 6.19 a gallon (the next station had the same price). And you have to go inside to get a receipt! I've only stopped in here to use their restroom and to buy a snack or drink while I wait for my Tesla to finish charging. Unlike their extremely expensive gas, the price of their snacks and drinks are decent. I've found the cashiers to be very nice and friendly. Their restrooms are sometimes decent, but I've found them to be quite dirty as of late. ok I was MISERABLE from being on the road and really had to take a dookie. This was the first stop I went with a bathroom and urgently sat on the toilet. Didn't realize I hadn't put down a sheet, but my first thought was "It's fine for now, the bathroom feels really clean". Then it hit me. I realized this bathroom was REALLY CLEAN. Felt like it had just been cleaned and refreshened thoroughly. As much as I love graffiti there wasn't any at all, which was a shocker for a gas station bathroom (as well as the fact that it was cleaner than most public restrooms anywhere/my bathroom honestly... even had an authentically fresh and light smell of cleanliness). I'm the kinda person that would rather go in the woods than a stinky gas station bathroom, too, so this is saying a lot. One minus point was that there weren't any seat covers or paper towels but the air dryer was working. Oh and cashier was hella nice too. Thank you for my best gas station poop experience BY FAR !! As a single woman I hate stoping at places when I am traveling. I pulled off and saw this Shell and needed to grab some gas and use the facilities. Let me tell you that the bathroom is cleaner here then at home with my teenage daughter. The gal who worked there was polite and offered a warm greeting and safe travels as I left. This is not the place you want to go if you are a larger vehicle or pulling a trailer and need diesel. Why? Because if a car parks at the Subway which is at the end of the pump drive, you can't get out. We pulled in behind a motorhome to fuel. The diesel pump is not on the outside lane where it should be but on an inside lane. The motorhome had two choices. He could sit and wait until the owners of those cars finished or back out. We had to back out so he could back out. Then, we opted to drive down the road to fuel up at the Chevron with lots of turning room. Ooh .... if you can, wait to fuel up across the Arizona border. On the good side, they have parking and a Dairy Queen. On the bad side-- the restrooms!!! One sink worked, one paper tower dispenser worked, one soap dispenser worked. This fuel station clearly price gouges and monopolizes. Today, we fueled only partially since the lowest cost per gallon was $5.19. Had we known that just 20 minutes further east that it would be available at $3.19 per gallon, we'd have waited. We live in CA and know that prices have been in mid to high $3.xx range. What a bunch of thieves! $6.89 a gallon for 87 octane and just across the border, Shell, $3.49. If going east, fill up at Barstow Ca. If going west, fill up in Topoc AZ. When I asked how they get away with charging this amount for fuel, they said "because of people like you". There are dead animals behind the station, and trash is everywhere. Disgusting. NEVER gas up your car in Needles. Every gas station jacks up their prices and this place has the worst that I've been to so far. $4.70 per gallon is insane. If you're going West or East on 40, try gassing up in Kingman, AZ or Barstow, CA because their prices were hovering around $3.00 last time I passed through. Outrages rip off. We were very low on def fluid when we rolled into this station. At all other station we have experienced def fluid for a 2 1/2 gallon is $14.00 includes funnel. These rip offs charged 27.00 for only 1 gallon and we had to buy a 8.00 funnel and the attendent thought it was funny. Shell oil should be ashamed to have them represent there gas. Also we got the worse subway sandwiches and 2 sandwiches with chips and 2 small drinks was 22.00 wtf. Never again. This station needs to be put out of business. read more

DO NOT TRUST THE TIRE SERVICE GUYS! They've consistently scammed drivers by using fear tactics into buying new tires. I wish I read the yelp reviews while I was there. These guys are true scumbags. They noticed my Civic was filled to the brim with stuff (was driving across the country) and they said I was in immediate and imminent danger of having both my tires blow out. Driving from NYC to LA and being so close to my destination, his fear mongering definitely got to me. So he showed me the tire and while the tread was worn down I don't think it was in danger of exploding. I didn't want to risk it though but then he priced out the tires at $500! For a 2001 Honda Civic.. there's no reason tires should be that expensive. Complete scam. Reported them to BBB. read more

DON'T FALL FOR THE TIRE SCAM!! What BS. We were there to fill up on gas(we have a Shell card) and a tire service guy walked over, appeared to check our tire pressure, and proclaimed our pressure excessively low at 27 (we drive a Honda Element). He said their air pump was free, so we proceeded to drive our car to the pump. On the way he shook his head and said our tires were excessively worn, and shouldn't even be on the road at all. This sounded odd to us, as our dealer had marked our tires at 50% or better just 5,000 miles earlier. Nevertheless, we allowed them to put our car on the lift while we called for some advice. Once on the lift, the guy said at least three of our tires were worn and should be replaced immediately. At this point we called the service guy from Honda and asked why we weren't told our tires needed to be changed so soon. He asked us a bunch of questions and said we should easily be able to make it to the closest Honda dealership for an honest opinion, and gave us his cell in case anything happened. At that point I asked service guy #2 to lower the car, took out our own pressure gauge, and found the pressure to be at 38. No wonder he didn't give us a chance to fill them. We politely said we were going to get another opinion first. As we pulled out, the douche followed us, clearly mouthing 'dumba**es'. What a class act. And lesson learned!! Oh, and yes, we made it the 1,200+ miles home with no problem, and got new tires for $150 less. I have no doubt they'll do this again when they're bored...hopefully their customers are Yelp readers. Beware of this place! They actually followed us to the Chevron next door saying they just happened to hear a loud noise from our trailer as we drove by. He said if we come over they'd take a look for free and it sounded like a loose bolt. Well, being concerned we took him up on the offer. Immediately upon looking a our suspension they said we had a big problem because the bolt was slipping & said he had a $600.00 upgrade they could do on the spot. My husband checked out the other side and it was exactly the same. They had taken both tires off already and when testing broke a couple bolts. When we declined the upgrade they finally put the tires back on haphazardly and said 'have a nice day, hope you don't break down'. Total scam, stay away!!!!!!!! read more

This place runs a tire scam watch out! While I was filling up on gas an attendant came out and told me that my right tire was very low on air. He checked the tire out for a little bit and decided he wanted to put my car up and take off the tire. When he took it off he showed me the supposed "damage" to my tire and said that it would immediately have to be replaced. Since my car is four wheel drive he said both tires had to be replaced for just under 500 dollars!!!! Now I'm at a total loss when it comes to cars and at this point I had definitely fallen victim to his scheme so I agreed to get the work done. However after walking away for five minutes I realized what had just happened to me and returned to tell him to stop and just put the old tire back on. It was super awkward as he attempted to make me go through with the work but I was able to stand strong and refuse. He still made me pay him 40 dollars however! My whole life I have been such a sucker for stuff like this but today the tables have turned! In ways this was the best 40 dollars I ever spent because even though I got scammed out of it, it's still way better than 500 and I finally grew a spine! Do not go here, the gas is also expensive and they will try and scam you! Update: Well back to Napa, CA safe and sound on my same tires that were deemed a hazard by these guys. I drove an additional 3,500 miles the rest of my trip as I drove all the way to Austin TX, Denver, CO and back to Napa, CA so basically these guys are scam artists and should be shut down. read more

We broke down 50 miles from Needles and our "Toe-Truck" driver brought us to this place as we had an honest conversation about people scamming other people (namely A+ Auto). I honestly don't think the driver knew about the tire scam- and neither did we. While we were there, we waited around for quite a while to get our van fixed, which was honestly done for a very reasonable price. Our mechanic did try and sell us on a new set of tires and we took the bait. BUT... we knew our tires were over 5 years old and we knew the back ones were very worn out. He said they were dangerous so we had him swap them. He told us the front tires were 80% worn but said he'd give us $50 for them. We said ok to that too mostly because we wanted a full set to start fresh with. The prices were on par with what we found out online later so no rip-off there. Conclusion: they probably will try to sell you some new tires wether you need them or not. In our case we needed them so it was ok. Just keep this in mind if you go there. And the gas is definitely super pricey... read more
