I stopped at Roadrunner 76 for a "spot" of gasoline, since I had my doubts whether I could make it all the way to Genoa (via the Kingsbury Grade) with what I had in my tank. I also wanted to maximize a later (and cheaper) fill up at the Carson City Costco. This is very nice and well kept Service Station and Convenience Store, that is an easy on and off from US 50. Plus there's a food cart on one end of the parking lot that offers 2 Hot Dogs, Chips, and a Drink for $6.50. My only caution (besides the slightly higher per gallon price) to watch out for vehicles tuning in, out, and around this business. The ones I avoided were either too busy on their smart device or too focused on their next destination to notice anyone but themselves. read more

The staff here are not wearing masks. The girl behind the counter came out to help a customer and was way too close and in my physical space. I asked her about it and she told me she was no told to wear a mask by her manager and it was not a rule. Stay away from here until they wear masks. Lots of tourists from out of town stop here who were also not wearing masks. read more

They market their bathrooms as thee best.. What pride! I used one of the two and it's aight.. I'm giving 4 stars not for their restrooms but for the delight I felt when I found they have a great selection of beer. There were beer o'plenty and refer to it as their 'beer cave' carrying beers and microbrews alike. It was a nice find. In addition, it's also a gas station/convenience store. read more

Prices for gas are almost as steep as mount tallac. However the reason I frequent here is that they have a pretty good selection of beer and most importantly it's all cold in a wanlin or open door fridge. I hate it when places have beer stacked up in a a window backing in the son. read more

I only used the bathrooms here last night. But, they were soooooo clean and warm and I loved all the signage. I learned: a) the restrooms had been recently redone b) they were lit with energy efficient LED lighting c) the outside premises were under surveillance 24/7 Good to know that I can get warm while sitting on the clean toilet (or seat covering) while saving the Earth. read more

This gas station is well maintained, and in a pretty convenient location, too. However, my personal experience at this place is by far the worst gas station experience I've had. Yesterday, I started my drive from Tahoe to San Jose, so I figured I'd stop by this place to get gas beforehand. I've been here once before, so I knew where it was located, and it's fairly easy to spot from Hwy 50. As I pull up to the pump, I notice that the pump is out of order. No biggie, my fault. So after a series of tight turns, I pull up to a working pump (#5), but as I grab the nozzle from the pump and turn it towards my car, gas suddenly spurted from the hose. It spilled all over my gas tank cover and the surrounding areas. With no squeegees to be found, I had to walk across the gas station to find some paper towels to wipe off my car. Oh, but that's not all. Far from it. Not only was my pump broken (it was pumping 1gal/min, and the 89 octane button didn't work), but when I walked inside to notify an employee that said pump was broken, he walked outside with me to "inspect" the pump, took a lazy glance at it, and condescendingly told me that there's "no possible way that this pump is broken. It's brand new, we just replaced it." I was miffed at his tone and comment. He didn't even care to test the pump, though to my surprise, the previously broken buttons started working when I attempted to show him. "Whatever" I thought, "it's not worth getting into an ordeal over this. I'll just pump at a different pump". Disregarding the employee's previous tone, I quickly thank him as he starts walking back inside, and he turns around and says (and I quote) "yeah yeah, and don't forget to take the pump out of your car before you drive away". REALLY?! This guy has the nerve to say that to a customer who's experiencing issues?!? All in all, I'd rate my personal experience at 1/5 stars, but I'm rating this review at 2/5 stars because despite my experience, this location is convenient when I'm heading out of town, and the property is maintained and cleaned. read more

You gotta love this place. It's the only local independent gas station in Tahoe that's also clean, friendly, and fresh all the time. By "fresh" I mean that the owner is always improving, and is creative with pricing strategies and deals for locals and regulars. They have an amazing beer selection, great munchies, and friendly staff. Loved Road Runner... until they charged me extra for a 16oz refill simply because I put it in my 16 oz Thermos. I would have saved money if I brought in my own 16 oz cup, filled it up, and then dumped it in my Thermos. I would have even saved money by filling up one of their 16 cups and dumping it into my Thermos, but that would have been wasteful. Honestly, I couldn't care less about an extra $1 here and there. The problem was, I had $1.10 on me because I had been paying $1.10 for over 6 months. The cashier refused to acknowledge the illogical pricing. In fact, when I mentioned other workers had been charging me the regular 16 oz refill price for over 6 months, he had the audacity to suggest I owe them the difference in pricing. I've lived in Meyers for 29 years and my family buys gas at Roadrunner from time to time. We were happy about the new commitment to keeping business in the community with lower gas prices. We need more of that! Went in to fill up with gas last week, and could not get the pump to accept my zip code. Since I have used their gas pumps periodically, and am familiar with their system I went inside TWICE, to ask for help. Two employees were on duty, only one of them occupied with customers. They just didn't "see" me until I'd waited behind three munchies customers. The young man at the counter then told me the pump was working fine and to just go back out and re-enter my zip code. I told him I'd used the pump before, same ATM card, and I was sure that something needed to be fixed, or unlocked before it would pump gas. He refused to walk out with me, and then suggested that I go get my driver's license and make what would actually have been a THIRD trip inside. This is a classic example of what locals call the "Tahoe business attitude" and I learned a very long time ago to never support or encourage it. Needless to say I went across the street as others have done, and filled up at the Chevron. I am happy to make allowances for some shortcomings in the Meyers and South Lake Tahoe business community, as we are a small town, and like it that way,but deliberate rudeness will never be one of them! read more

If they could have 0 stars I would rate them that. They sold us chains for our 4x4 just incase we needed them. Non refundable . I gave them my tire size. They sold me chains. In the parking lot the chain monkeys charged me 30$ to put them on. They are too big . They didn't have my tire size but instead gave me the next size up. They don't care they they don't fit. I have been to Road Runner many times in the past and have always had a pleasant experience with all the employees, but with that being said this will be the last time I ever go in there. Frequented this place a lot while staying at friends in Christmas valley over summer. Gas is well priced compared to other gas stations in town. Biggest reason I gave this place 5 starts is their beer selection which is amazing for a gas station. They have all kinds of microbrews and some imported beers which you will not find at big stores like Safeway, etc. Its well priced too and you can make a 6 pack of your liking. Good place to grab some quick munchies, basic stuff for fishing etc. Customer service here is good and it is a privately owned local business. good to support. read more

This place is terrible... My family and I made a stop here to get gas, some snacks, and use the bathroom... I go inside and ask if they had a bathroom and the guy says its outside so i walk outside and theres 3 portable bathrooms so i open the door and there is urine filled to the top in all 3... it was so disgusting... so i went inside and told my sister oh the bathroom is filled to the top so we cant use it so i told my husband to just by me a soda so he goes up and pays with a card and the cashier guy says oh we have a 5 dollar limit... and my husband turns to me and i said oh its ok then we'll just go to chevron cause i need to use the bathroom anyways... i did not say it in spite or anything but it was only the truth that we needed to stop there anyways for the bathroom... and right when i said its ok we'll just got to chevron the guy says THATS FINE YOU'LL JUST END UP PAYING 8 BUCKS FOR A SODA OVER THERE ANYWAYS... and i just ignored him... then one of his co-workers said do we really have that 5 dollar limit... and the guy says no we just say that and if they want to buy something then thats up to them... this guy was such an JERK... i dont mind the 5 dollar limit but for him to be such a jerk and make a comment about not buying the soda over there and then say out loud that he basically lies to his customers pissed me off...i left without saying a word to the guy... went over to chevron and bought a soda for the SAME PRICE with some other snacks and got to use MORE CLEANER BATHROOM... i would never go back there nor would i recommend anyone else to... read more
