Walking around while it lightly snowed was lovely. Getting stuck in a snow storm, in a car with rear wheel drive...not the biz. Soooo after a very slow drive to try to get to Tahoe City to find a place with chains this Chevron calls out like a beacon of light, or whatever. Alex who works here was great. He found the right type of chains for my car and assisted in getting the chains on the car (which is def not his job). He went above and beyond and deserves some recognition. So shout out to him!

Not this place: they cater to locals so keep prices reasonable. The pumps are newer too! It does et a bit busy, specially in winter months because it's on such a main street. But it's worth the stop: save up to $1 per gallon when compared to the overpriced Shell or 76 stations close by.

I already get 5% back cause I have the City Costco credit card that doubles as my membership card at the store. I like that the card scanners work super well at the Costco gas station. No multiple swipes or taps, just wave it on front of the scanner once and it's done, get to pumping! I was surprised there weren't huge lines here, like most of the Costco gas stations. I think this is one of the least crowded Costcos, the store included, well, compared to any big city Costco. All gassed up and then the pump asks by default, is no receipt OK? If you want one, then it will print one, but just go online to your Costco account page and see all your purchases, including the gas! I like this Costco Gas station!

Growing up, my Father and Grandfather owned and operated an APCO station in Estherville, Iowa, hence my tendency to review every gas station I come across. Gasoline is a commodity, so things like price, clean restrooms (as applicable), and convenience are my key interests in what is usually an unremarkable customer experience. Hence, a 3 Star "A-OK" rating is the most common. That's what this Pacific Gasoline Station received then and right now. I have filled up several times since the review, and what I wrote remains true today. So yesterday, I'm attending a Genoa Western Heritage Day event, look at my phone, and see that a comment had been added to my review. I've pasted it in below, and I'll have to say that it's rare to be personally attacked that way for a middle-of-the-road "A-OK" review. Looking at similar (and lower) Yelp reviews, it appears that I'm not the only one in this "owner's" crosshairs, who might not take such realistic comments well. Since this is a self-serve station and he/she isn't normally around to police customer experiences, I'll be sending knowing smiles and optimism his/her way every time I fill up. SMH. "Our business does not cater to the entitlement that you clearly displayed here in your review. Being a customer does not give you a right to patronize businesses because your ego has less than accommodating expectations. I love that Maveriks are popping up everywhere. If you follow my reviews, I rave about Maverik's coffee. I love their coffee, try a cup next time you're in one! Maverik is a trusted place to stop for gas, have a bite/snack and a cleaner place to use the restroom. While I'm on my roadtrips, I will stop at a Maverik 99% of the time over any other gas station. If you're in the area, this location is brand new. It's beautiful, clean and the pumps for trucks or anyone towing is well organized. I was disappointed that my photos were blurry, I'll catch some next time. Do sign up for their rewards, I get free food and coffee for my extra "punches". Your wallet will thank you.

Their pumps are always tied off with yellow tape, Today I went to get gas behind a young lady who DID get fuel but when I tried it, the pump didn't work so they cancelled my transaction, BUT not before they took $100 out of my account so I was not able to get gas ANYWHERE!! To top it off there is not a manager on site so I had to deal with the flunky behind the counter.

It packs a huge punch for such a small space! There were many protein bar choices, including Kind, Barebells, MetRX, and many other large-name brands. The drink selection is also good here. I was very surprised to see such a nice refrigerated section, too. Lots of fresh food options for a gas station. Decent quality selection, and the stuff I bought had expiry dates pretty far out. Prices weren't bad. $8 for a bottle of water and two protein bars. Not bad at all. The gas prices were a bit high and usually are high at this station, but I usually avoid getting gas at the lake due to high pricing. I would stop here again for the market if I needed some drinks or snacks and didn't want to go all the way down to the Target past Stateline or back to the Safeway further back on HWY 50.
