Criminal. Lies & forgery. They sent me a forged invoice with a false description of work. Specifically, I called for an estimate over the phone and they insisted on sending someone over. Okay, but I never agreed to pay for that. They gave me a $2,875.50 estimate. I'm not a plumber, but no dummy either. So I called an honest plumber who fixed the issue for under $500. Shellback then has the audacity to send me an invoice with a FORGED "X" signature for me agreeing to pay $275 for clearing a drain that they did not actually clear. A lie and a forgery. I never agreed to pay for an estimate. And would never pay for someone to try to rip me off like this. Unreal. Stay away. Update: Shellback has now withdrawn the false invoice, but maintains that it was from "a trusted technician" on their team. They also claim to have cleared a drain, as stated in the invoice. That's untrue. A couple hours after they made the estimate, I found the cabinet under my sink flooded with water. Making pipes drain into the cabinets is not clearing a drain. read more

I spoke directly with the owner and tried to address a few service concerns I felt were not handled properly. While he disagreed with my assessment, and was combative...my perspective didn't change... It only worsened in terms of the company... I'm the paying customer, and the experience didn't meet expectations... I deal with a lot of vendors across the state for my facilities so I know the difference between acceptable and unacceptable. My biggest issue was the lack of cleanup and how quickly the crew seemed ready to leave. My entire back patio was left covered in mud and debris. The mess extended to my pool (which required a separate cleaning), the side corridors, walkways, my new doors, and even my barbecue area... It was pretty nasty... The new barbecue just got put in so the white stucco is going to need to be repainted. The street in front of my home.. including both neighboring properties...was left with significant sludge and sentiment buildup. I ended up having to apologize to my neighbors and personally pressure wash the area myself. To be fair, I was told the pool might get dirty, but this was far beyond what I expected. They also backed up and blocked my pool overflow system, which had been working fine prior, and didn't address it before leaving. From my perspective, the crew seemed more focused on moving quickly toward cutting concrete and scheduling additional work rather than fully resolving the issue at hand... They were eager to get the initial job going which is fine, and said there are three guys ready to work, but unfortunately one guy probably should have been out on disability with what seemed like a broken arm. No disrespect, they all seemed nice from a personality standpoint... But when you're being billed per hour, you expect three healthy workers. I've had similar work done at my other properties, and this experience felt rushed and not up to a professional standard. What didn't sit well with me was the owner's lack of receptiveness to respectful, direct feedback... especially from another business owner. In summary: The issue was not resolved (roots were visible on camera but not cleared).. out 1300 bucks.. did you get a second opinion and a trenchless option with more appropriate tools was presented and being executed on. There appeared to be a push toward more invasive and costly work... And they couldn't really confirm where the actual blockage was. It was more of a guessing game. Cleanup was far below expectations I was left to handle the aftermath, including cleaning and neighbor impact This may not be everyone's experience, but it was mine. I'll let others decide accordingly. read more

Very disappointed in the service from Shellback Plumbing. One of my properties had a very foul odor coming from the master bathroom and I wanted to get rid of the smell, so I called these guys over and they inspected the bathroom and said they need to clean the bathroom by using a cable drain and by removing the trap. I paid $271 for that and the smell still didn't go away so then they recommended to replace the toilet gasket which was another $362. Well that didn't get rid of the odor and I was already down over $600. I called another plumber and they came in and cleaned the drains the proper way and told me that the previous plumber didn't do a good job cleaning the drains and left a lot of gunk. Now there is no more smell!!! The pictures attached are from the new plumber. Shellback scammed me and kept making up reasons to call them back and pay them. Will never trust them ever again and I strongly suggest everyone to get 2nd opinions before agreeing to their service! read more

The plumber quickly diagnosed that the issue was with our septic and not the plumbing and inspected the septic tank and clean out to find that the issue was downstream of the tank and clean out. Great work and then hot me with $350 bill for half hours work. Said that was min charge, whereas when I scheduled visit they said estimate provided no charge. I wasn't told of min fee. We had a pipe off the main leaking outside and called the office on a Monday morning. The office staff was very helpful and sent a plumber to our location that same morning. My husband had dug up the area and found the leak. The irrigation line off the main was not installed properly and appeared to be under pressure, therefore it eventually cracked. Kevin with Shellback worked hard to come up with the best solution. This job took about 4 to 5 hours and then he came back to turn the water back on and check everything. Kudos to Kevin for not being bothered with my husband watching the work. My husband said he learned a few new things. I would say years ago my husband would have made this repair himself. The work entailed being on your knees and bent over the entire time. It is reassuring to know there are professional plumbers when the job is too much. I contacted the office when I could not get the 10% senior discount coupon to print and she said not to worry. They applied the discount without having to be reminded. On Tuesday, August 26, 2025 I called Shellback plumbing and spoke with Jenny regarding my broken garbage disposal. The tech arrived and introduced himself. I directed him into the kitchen and he checked the garbage disposal. I told him it's been leaking from the bottom of the unit. He checked the unit and discovered it wasn't a bad disposal, it was just the loose flange. He tightened the flange and the garbage disposal was fixed. No more leaks, The tech looked at me and stated "all fix, if you need any future repairs please contact us." Wow, and no charge. I want to thank the tech for his honesty and integrity on my garbage disposal issues. Just a loose flange. Kitchen faucet was installed fine, but I had to have another plumber come and check why the pressure was so low. There was sediment caught once the water was turned back on after the original installation. Not sure if it was lack of product knowledge or not but the installer also told me to get a better brand because it'll likely have problems down the line. The faucet I bought was actually recommended by a friend of mine who is a commercial plumber but couldn't come in time to replace my faucet. Regardless, I don't think this was appropriate soft skills. My faucet works now and I don't think it's fair to knock stars off if everything ended up well. read more
