I never got the chance to eat here. I called in and was put on hold, then called back and left a message, called again--never got a response. My wife and kids go here, which is why I'm especially disappointed. I'm not going to leave a one-star review, but if I'm trying to order a cake for a party it would he nice to get a call back. Yum delicious bakery in Angier off 210. While driving down 210 I was looking for a place to eat and saw the bakery sign. I pulled in to a nearly empty parking lot. The open sign was lit up so I walked in and decided on which pastries I wanted. Similar to other local panaderias, you use the tongs and tray to select desired baked goods. I chose some pastry hearts (elephant ears) and concha. They also sell ice cream, cake slices, custom cakes, and more. As I was finishing up, a friendly employee came out to greet me and ask if I needed anything. I requested one of their recently decorated "brownies." He packaged it nicely to not disrupt the frosting. I don't know exactly what it was but I thought it was a brownie. The concha and pastry hearts tasted delicious and as expected. It was pricier than I anticipated (total was around $10). Still cheaper than other nearby bakeries, but more expensive than other panaderias in the Triangle area. Overall I'm glad I stopped by and recommend this bakery to others. Seems like it is a local favorite as they were out of several things by 11 am (they open at 7 am). read more

I found this bakery when i was visiting my sister for the Holidays and i am glad i did. The bread was super fresh and delicious. I also bought a 3 leches cake for my son's birthday i was very pleased with the flavor because it was not soaked in super sweet milk like other bakeries. I will definitely come back on my next trip and i recommended the bakery to my sister. She was also very impressed with the cake. The decoration was not elaborate because we didn't order in advances. Shelly's is an impressive -- awesome even - bakery. The panificadora y pasteleria subheading of Shelley's is an ideal description. Driving by it is easy. There's no big white letters, oversized sign, or neon flashing lights to draw your attention. It shares a roof with a gas station, but is separate with its own entrance. There was already a line of people waiting when I drove in. The bolillo were still warm and hard to resist. So I didn't. I bought some cookies, but had to leave a few behind for next time. The cookies are big and just the right combination of crispy and sweet, but not overly so. They're perfect for dunking. Shelly's is a full service bakery with bread, rolls, cakes, cookies and pies so it will have something to hit the spot. The cakes can be special ordered as well, but there were a couple already made for someone walking in with a last minute order. It's a popular spot in Angier and the locals are known to leave empty-handed if their favorite confection or bolillo is gone or not yet ready. Okay this place is a hidden gem!! I never expected to find this place and I actually didn't even find this place on yelp but through google maps when I typed in bakery. Pretty much everything is freaking delicious. My best recommendations are the tres leches cake (strawberry and chocolate) because I can't find that anywhere else! It reminds me of the tres leches cakes (~$2-3) from Cali, where I'm originally from, and it's so fluffy, moist, and melts in your mouth. The churros are BOMB here! They have regular and the caramel-filled. Get the caramel-filled because YUM! They can run out towards the end of the day so call ahead if you want a lot, especially for events/parties! You pretty much can't go wrong here with anything! Prices are super affordable (breads around ~$1-2 and special items like the a large piece of cake that can be shared with 2-3 others is ~$3) so make you way down here after Texas Pit BBQ or just grab some goodies to share! :) read more

Terrible experience, I had gone in to place an order for a birthday cake and not only was the girl at the front rude, they didn't even put in my order. They had to give me a completely different cake that wasn't anything from what I ordered. On top of that the name was misspelled. Every time we come here it's like reentering My childhood! The sweet fresh smell of delicious mouthwatering Mexican bread! The site of amazing Mexican snackies and reglar American goods too! Yummy! Uber authentic! Prices are not excessive what so ever which I personally appreciate because other locations in Fayetteville and Sanford area charge so much! It's so worth the drive! And they got ice cream during the summer!! Can't wait to go back! Their so sweet and hospitable! Makes me miss home (California, my family is full blooded Mexican). Shelley's Mom's Bakery pastries are baked fresh daily. The aroma of the bakery goods can be smelled in the air when you walk into their shop. I have been a frequent customer of their store for a few years now. The customer service of the owners and staff is GREAT! They make this fabulous cheesecake besides mexican pastry goods. I love the new place that they move to at 275 Fish Drive in Angier which is off hwy 210. They have more space to have more pastry goods displayed for customers and spacious parking. Glad that we found this place on accident! Delicious tres leches...I bought one of all the flavors and tried the chocoflan as well. So good and you can tell that they use fresh ingredients! Awesome place with fresh baked breads and pastries all around and they have ice cream by the scoop. Will definitely be back! read more

A gem in Angier! I ordered a birthday cake last minute on a Saturday and it was ready for pick up that afternoon! It was a huge hit- Tres Leches with fresh peaches. You could tell everything was made from scratch and with love. Great selection of pastries and cookies too!
