The burgers were small but the sides (loaded fries and onion rings were awesome). We also had chocolate extreme ice cream which was delicious. Everyone was very friendly including the customers. The decorating was perfect for a diner. I will definitely come back. Great ambiance. read more

Shell's is a staple in Vevay, Indiana. Dawn, the owner, genuinely cares about her customers and it shows in the quality of the food. I had the jumbo breaded pork tenderloin and onion rings. This sandwich was massive but it was so good I had to eat the entire thing. The onion rings had great crunch and the flavor was on point. Cannot recommend this establishment enough. If you are ever passing through Vevay or are attending the Swiss Wine Festival, make sure to stop in. You won't be disappointed! read more

We had to try shells just to say we did. This was the fourth or fifth time trying to eat here and we finally succeeded. I got the foot long chili cheese dog and a thing of loaded crinkle cut french fries. They had cheese and bacon on top. My husband got a burger. The best thing we got was my loaded crinkle cut fries. They were super hot and super crunchy. The footlong dog was ok, you could tell it had been sitting in boiling water for a while. And my husband asked for a plain double bacon cheeseburger and it came with everything on it. Overall an ok place that's local and better than fast food. read more

I like to try small mom and pop places when I can, so when I was working in town had to seing through and give it a shot.. got a double burger combo with fries and a coke.. the amount of crinkle fries i got was HUGE.. made me laugh you order a large at some places and you get maybe half the box, but back to it.. the butber was exactly what i was wanting. It was lolr a good old bar cheeseburger without the questions of why are you at a bar at noon...went back through and got maybe the 3rd best milkshake i have ever had in my 40 years .. will definitely find a reason to head back that way... read more

Food is standard fare for this type of restaurant. Plenty of seating and parking. What sets Shell's apart from the national chain is their milkshakes! Must try the peanut butter shake. read more

This place is very hit & miss, unfortunately. Their desserts seem to stay pretty on par, however, their food and service do not. If you order anything other than a burger there's a good chance they'll put pepperoncinis on it and make it nasty, but won't put that anywhere on the menu. I like pepperoncinis, but not on a chicken sandwich or a teriyaki sandwich. Speaking of the teriyaki sandwich, if you're looking for something that is reminiscent of teriyaki you'll be disappointed. Their chili is nasty cincinnati style chili. The fried bologna sandwich is excellent (and a rare find in this area), their loaded fries, onion rings, double cheese burger and milkshakes are good. The customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The dark haired gal with the neck tattoos working the grill wanted to argue that she put teriyaki on the sandwich, but multiple people very familiar with teriyaki confirmed that not to be the case. I watched a young guy & gal working behind the register handle money and turn around and handle food, which is very unsanitary as money is filthy. The young guy was putting whipped cream on a shake and some whipped cream went down the side of the cup and he used his dirty money thumb to scoop it back into the shake. The only employee really putting some hustle in their game this evening was a younger man with a high & tight working the grill. This young man came to the front to help get the gaggle under control. My husband prepaid for his ice cream cone and had to stand around waiting for it for over 20 minutes to get said cone. If this exact combo of employees is ever working together again I'll leave before attempting a repeat. read more

Great 50 's style restaurant. Food was great. Service was fast and polite. We all had burgers and they were the best burgers we had had in a while. We even played some music on the jukebox from the 50's to get the whole fill of the place. I will be going back maybe take my parents since they were into the whole 50's era. read more

I love this place, between the lovely nostalgic atmosphere and massive menu there isn't much you can't get out of your experience here. The only issue I have ever had is a long wait but this doesn't worry me due to the fact everything is made fresh instead of pre-made. read more
