If you're ever in Carrollton, Ky.... this diner style gem has awesome Fried Chicken, and they make it fresh, so it's worth the wait! It's crunchy and not greasy!!! Yummy sides too! The place is spic and span clean as well! The young ladies working on 8/4 were very friendly, and were making sure the restaurant was clean. Kudos to the cook as well, everything was delicious! This place has odd hours. We tried to eat here 3 times and they were finally open today. Staff was nice the good was coooed to order. We get chicken strips and liver. The strips are run of the mill frozen and so are the frys. The liver was also frozen and they over cooked it. It was good but a little to salty for my taste. Mine came with mashed potatoes they were instant potatoes they were good for instant and coleslaw but I chose to get macaroni and cheese mac & cheese only and cheese was very bland and had no flavor. I got a lemonaide that was very good and my wife got a Heath bar flurry that was also good. read more

Portions decent amount and cost very reasonable. I had tenderloin and hubby had fried chicken dinner. Only complaint I had was instant potatoes. We did spring for fried mushrooms. Yummy Lots of choices will definitely go again They have carry out but inside dining open. First time we tried to go was start of Covid so they were totally shut down. Everything was disposable meal came to table in a bag. Masks required like elsewhere. read more

Great fried chicken. Good "breakfast all day", chicken tenders basket, french fries, fried pickle chips and shakes and ok burgers..but the fried chicken is why we stop. We have our son stop and carry out on his way home from Louisville to Northern KY. Heads up if dining in: They allow smoking and there is no designated smoking area. read more

We stopped here for dinner to get away from traffic on the interstate and it was the best decision we could've made. Everything we had was amazing! The prices are extremely reasonable. I highly recommend that you have the baked potato salad as a side dish, its phenomenal. We had the cod and shrimp both with 2 sides and hush puppies. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about all of the items on the menu knowing the ingredients and if there's onions in any of the items, including the tartar sauce, which was very important for us. This is some where I would stop again in my drives from Michigan to Alabama or whenever I'm going through this area again. read more

Food is good but a bit pricey. Milkshakes are great! Only problem with Cooper's is that they allow smoking and the dining room is one open space. Several times we have went in to eat and someone would sit down at the booth next to us and start smoking. No specific smoking area so you never know if someone next to you will light up while you are trying to eat. I suggest getting your order to go. read more

ONLY GO HERE IF YOU WANT CHICKEN. The fried chicken was fantastic. While you are at it, I'd just do carry out. At first it seemed to have small town charm of old diner but was smokey (they allow smoking), a little sticky, and needs a good mopping. Excellent local restaurant. Was in town for work and found a gem. Had fried cod and it was excellent, served with fries, cole slaw , hush puppies and drink for under ten dollars. Large portions and cooked fresh. Two others in my party had fried chicken and both said it was fantastic. Looked like locals only, but staff was friendly and very helpful to us. Cooper's is a plain little restaurant with good food. It has long been well-loved for its salty and I think unbreaded fried chicken. I ask for "skinny fries" when I get the all-dark chicken dinner, and it comes with a little Styrofoam tub of coleslaw that I like. I like their chili when the weather is cold and they have great old-fashioned milk shakes. The only downside is the atmosphere. Plain tables and booths -- some of which came from when Long John Silvers closed and they have things like "CLAMS" embossed on them in big letters. They have ditched the John Deere theme of a few years ago and now have the odd old kitchen utensil on the wall. They should do more of that. When you come in there is a menu on the wall. You order and pay and they give you a number to take back to your table with you, as well as a cup for your self-serve drinks, which are tea, lemonade, and Pepsi products. The people there have always been friendly and helpful. The outdoor seating consists of one sad little picnic table and a sign out front posts the specials and the names of those in need of prayer. Earlier reviews complained about the smoking. It has recently become a NON-SMOKING restaurant. read more
