I loved the overall feel of this historic building, was visiting from Colorado and I truly felt like I was getting a little bit of Kentucky history. The service was excellent. We ordered the beet salad, the beets were nice and crisp and delightful, we also had the crab cakes and I liked the accompanied sauce it gave it a good punch. For entrees we ordered the chicken thighs with the mushroom risotto and the shrimp and grits. Both were so very good, had plenty to take home. I'd come back here anytime I visit just so I can try everything!

Wonderful dinner. Cherish was our server, and she was friendly, professional and very attentive ( in fact when we were leaving, she asked if there was anything else she could have done to make our experience better...who does that? The consummate professional). After ordering a bottle of wine, we ordered the crab cakes and pretzel for our appetizers--each was excellent, tasty and filling. For my side, I upgraded to a Caesar salad, which was excellent. I was full by then and unable to take even a bite of my mahi mahi ( which is sitting in the refrigerator). My husband ordered the halibut with a side of coleslaw, which he said was light and yummy. He took some home as well, and unfortunately we were too full to even look at a dessert menu. Reservations recommended. Beautiful setting. Would like to see more New Zealand Sauvignon blanc wines offered than what's on the menu ( Kim Crawford), and what I buy at Costco...

The service was great. The food was reasonably priced. I gave it three stars because getting to our table felt very cramped. There wasn't a lot of room, but when we sat down at our table we felt so far away from each other because the table was long. Also, we sat at a table against the wall and the table was on an incline (you could feel and see that we were sitting at an angle). Other than that the food was great. Our food was hot, and well seasoned. Not sure if we will go back but it was nice to try something new!

What's a trip to Kentucky without experiencing the bourbon offerings, historic taverns and flavors of well prepared Kentucky dishes. Tousey House Tavern didn't disappoint, providing Kentucky favorites in charming surroundings. Located in a centuries old house, the hot slaw began our culinary journey, leading the way to a well prepared and generous portion of Kentucky Hot Brown. There is a reason why this is an extraordinary favorite. We topped off our meal sharing the Bourbon Bundt Cake. Thanks to our local family for sharing this destination and to the Tousey House staff for great food and service.

Sean and his team were wonderful, especially with our kiddos having extra energy to burn. The food is exceptional, and the restaurant is so neat being in a home from the early 1800's! Thank you

We came for the infamous Hot Brown.... It was quite tasty... would like a little more bread on the entree as the the 3 meats were very apparent in this dish would have liked a little more taste of the bread and gravy shine through a bit more ... also throw 2 slices of tomato vs. one and it would have been perfect.... The size is a shareable dish in my opinion. Will definitely be back to try more dishes

It is located in a Kroger strip mall area but is slightly higher class than what one might think when they hear that. It was a weird off-peak time so it was no issue getting seated right away and service was pretty good. We started our late lunch and our vacation with a cocktail, both of which were pretty tasty! I wanted to make sure I got some veggies in me before a week+ of vacation eating, so I got a side salad, which was pretty ample for a side! I also got the mushroom ricotta dip appetizer as a "meal" and it was pretty delicious! Cheese, mushrooms and carbs...you can't go wrong with that in my opinion! We had an okay time, and we were able to dawdle and not be rushed. It wasn't our first choice on the day and likely wouldn't be at another time, but it was more than decent as a secondary/back-up choice for a place to eat.

The restaurant was clean and modern and had a great menu selection. The kids meals are $8 and come with a drink and side. I liked that they were really food just kids size versions. We had the sliders and chicken and waffles. On the adult menu we tried the cod dinner, hot honey chicken sandwich and pretzels and beer cheese. They also had a great selection of desserts.

One thing that stands out is the portion sizes you're getting a lot for your money. It's great for families or anyone who wants leftovers for later. Not the bubbly welcoming sort. I questioned myself if i made the right choice for a quick lunch. Thankfully I was paired with a waitress who smiled, welcomed me and really listened to what I wanted. I ordered the fish and chips (still coming off of Lent...habit, I guess). I was pleasantly surprised. I expected frozen and flashed fried pieces. What I was served were three delicately beer battered sustainably farmed swai... good sized and delicious! The accompanying fries were fantastic as well. My only suggestion if you get bothered by loud noise while dining is to be seated away from the tvs. Bathrooms are clean and walkways are not greasy sticky. I'll be back to try other items on there extensive menu!

While traveling in northern Kentucky, he stumbled upon one of these places, The Farmstand Market & Cafe. Farmstand offers comfort food with a farm-to-table focus served in a cozy space with a bar and attached market. We started with the Goetta Hanky Panky Dip. This was made with cheesy goetta, bagel chips, pumpernickel bread, and light rye served in a cast iron skillet. The dip had a good sausage flavor with salt and some light spice while being cheesy, creamy, and full of flavor. The bagel chips were very crispy but were not served warm. The pumpernickel and rye were dry. Each complimented the dip, adding texture to the bite. My wife had the Reuben Sandwich. This sandwich came with sliced corned beef, homemade Thousand Island, pickled pig sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese on light rye with bacon ranch pasta salad. The pasta salad was cooked spot on while also being creamy. The bacon added crunch and saltiness to the salad. The rye had a great toast, and the Thousand Island was tangy and creamy. The pastrami was dry but had a good salty flavor. The sauerkraut was crunchy and had a good sour flavor cutting through the salty meat and the sweet dressing. The cheese was gooey and nutty and added flavor to each bite. I sampled the French dip sandwich and Mulligatawny soup. This was prepared with a sliced top round with provolone on a French roll. The soup was prepared with rice, chicken, carrots, onions, celery, lentils and spices. The chicken was very tender, the rice was cooked well, and the vegetables added texture to the rice. The soup was flavorful, had a wonderful aroma, and had a good salt content. The top round was thin and offered good flavor and chew. The roll was fresh and had a good chew paired with the ooey and gooey cheese with an excellent buttery flavor. The au jus had good flavor but was slightly salty, which overpowered it. Farmstand offers grilled cheeses, hot sandwiches, burgers, salads, appetizers, soups and main entrees. They also serve beer and have a full bar. The servers were pleasant and knowledgeable. The Fat Man says that The Farmstand Market & Cafe is Fat Man Approved with 1 chin.
