FIVE STARS IF YOUR PIES WERE ONLY HOMEMADE!!!!! If you're driving back to Louisville from Belterra or Cincy, consider routing down Hwy 42 to downtown Carrollton. There.....sitting on Main Street and the bank of the Ohio River, is a spectacular view and a quaintness only a small town city possesses. The Welch's must do very well in this town. Notice many businesses with their name. And I was surprised how much steel industry this town has....u will see that on ur 11 mile stretch down 42. Let's get to the menu choices. Well, what about a ribeye steak sandwich for $6.99. The rest of the menu is proportionate to the steak, in price. Ask about ur choices. Some are homemade...some not. There is always a daily homemade special. We had breakfast, served all day, and a bbq plate. The bbq was not homemade but very, simplistically, good, like Mom used to make. All the sides were great and big portions. But.......I was counting on their large selection of pies to be homemade. They weren't. Darn, I was def taking a whole one home. Let's not forget that view!!!!! What a view, on their enclosed porch!!! Tables for 6-10, about 6 of them. Free ambiance....that's a rarity. I will add an updated menu and your view of this Main Street restaurant. Visited over Memorial Day. On every lamp post, hung a Carrollton resident in military uniform. Very, very touching!! Take a ride....enjoy the view!!

Hen house burger and fries

Well I've been told the food here was bland but it was close by so we checked it out. The 1st issue we had was there was no gyro or Greek burger like it has on the menu. My wife got a good burger which I thought was a very funny name becuse of the tv show and had to say it. Turns out they have a hamburger and it's frozen or a good burger that's fresh meat which I find crazy. She liked her good burger. A little over cooked and a lot of onions. She also got onion rings that she said where decent. I got a hen house burger that was a fried egg bacon cheese and a good bigger patty. Well I've had a lot of these burgers at other places but this was one of the best I had. Needed a touch more seasoning but the egg was actually cooked perfect, the burger was also over cooked stilly but the big was great. . The fries where frozen trash and the cheese sticks where also frozen but I did like them. All and all it was a good burger and we will be back.

Canned chili dog chili on the deluxe chilli cheese burger. One bite and had to stop.

Overpriced for the quality of food you get. Feels so outdated like walking into your parents wood paneling basement.

This is our second visit to this location. Great view of the Ohio River. The building could be updated, but everything else was awesome!

Very dirty restaurant. Food was mediocre at best. If there was anything positive about it, it was the view of the river. What a shame.

It was so dang delicious that I can't wait for the next tournament to go back!! We had the crawfish dip, crab leg boil and shrimp boil. It was all so good but lemme tell you about these crab legs!!!! Insanely good! Better than the ones we get in Florida!! They were so well seasoned. The Royal Reds & fried shrimp were delicious. The sausage was perfectly cooked!! Those potatoes cut like butter. The crawfish dip was plentiful with crawfish tails!! Not a single complaint!! Prices are good. Bathrooms clean. Friendly staff. Highly recommend!!

I had the fried shrimp, and they clearly were NOT just frozen shrimp they'd bought somewhere and fried, these seemed homemade. . .definitely NOT typical mass-production shrimp. The food was pretty good. There's two things I would list as downsides, however. The first is that the wait for service was pretty long. It was quite a long wait from when I ordered until I got my food. That's a minor downside, given the quality. I got the picture they might not have a robust back-of-house staff. The second, and bigger downside is. . .I didn't go there expecting a seafood place! The well-worn sign out front still says "Deez Butts" BBQ, and I'd followed signs from the freeway exit thinking I was going to a barbecue joint. When I stepped inside, I pieced together as I was standing in line that the BBQ had closed and this was now a seafood place. It was good food, but I was expecting barbecue and was too hungry to bother hunting for another place to eat. I was left wondering if they couldn't afford to change the (well worn) sign out front. It just seemed a little odd that the sign out front is for a barbecue joint, but it's a seafood place inside.

I stopped by the hostess desk to see if we could push back the reservation. This was a busy Saturday Night and she could not have been more accommodating. She took my name and assured me it was not a problem. Thirty minutes later we returned and the hostess called me by name. We were quickly seated with Erin (remember her name) who asked if we were going to the concert that night. She made suggestions that would help with our time restriction. She was spot on with the 12oz Barrel Cut Filet. You could almost cut it with only the fork. My wife had the 8oz Filet, and she said it was maybe the best steak she's ever had. We had the mashed potatoes and mac-n-cheese as our delicious sides. After our meal, Erin suggested we come back for coffee and dessert, which we did. My wife had the creme brûlée and I had the tiramisu. Both are made in house and delicious. Well worth the price. Great food, great drinks (try the smoked old fashioned) and top notch exceptional service.

The complimentary soft bread was good but the "chips" cheapened the meal. We ordered the chop salad and Caesar salad and both were served warm. The Caesar salad was terrible. It had a strange after taste, but the flavor of the chop salad was ok. The sear on the steaks were really good and cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were so tasty; 2nd best I've ever had! The mac & cheese was bland. Tasted like too much cream was added, which took away any taste of cheese. The chocolate cake was ok, but I don't believe it is made in house. It's reminiscent of a Malones chocolate cake. We were also served with a complimentary dessert which was a tempered chocolate cup filled with whipped cream topped with chocolate and strawberry sauce. It was pretty but not appetizing for us to eat a cup of whipped cream. Overall we enjoyed checking this restaurant off our list but will not return (we drove over 2 hours just to try this restaurant)

I stopped in for dinner with coworkers while in town, based on a recommendation from our hotel staff. Glad we listened, because this place was far and wide the best meal I've had in Madison. The restaurant is small and quaint, but has both a Midwest & Southern-touch feel to it; they serve American-French fusion cuisine with a hint of creole... Lots of choices from creole-inspired appetizers to salads, steaks, seafood, and pastas. I ordered the Caesar salad and seared halibut, which were both out of this world. For the quality of the food and the level of customer service (our server Samantha was excellent), RoM is very well priced... While it wasn't cheap, this fine meal was worth every penny ($60 w/ tip for dinner). I've been to many restaurants in Madison over the few years I've been coming down here for work, and RoM is unquestionably my favorite of them all... I will definitely be back and certainly recommend you stop in if you're look for a spectacular elevated dining experience when in Madison.

The inside was full but the restaurant is deceivingly large inside and they had us seated in under 10 minutes. Took drink orders quickly and got the drinks out even quicker. The lunch menu is small but covers everything. Our food for all 10 people came out at the same time and in only about 15 minutes. I was super impressed. Sandwiches were pretty greasy and lacked fresh/crunchy elements but we all enjoyed quite a bit as we were hungry from a hike at Clifty Falls. My turkey pita press was heavy on the chipotle mayo/melted cheese/bacon and slid apart but the portion was generous and it was as advertised. Service was amazing and I'd highly recommend to hungry tourists like us! They are working with a tight space and are doing an amazing job accommodating everyone and turning out quick and quality food.

I started doing my reviews in this order: The Appeal…read moreThe Bad (?) The Good I consider myself some what of a seafood boil "snob" being that I lived in Las Vegas around some of the best restaurants in the world and have had seafood all over the country. There isn't any seafood in the small town I live in so every time I go out of town for work I stop to get seafood. The appeal of the Storming Crab: this place is located just down from the Fayette Mall which use to be a booming shopping center. The restaurant has a HUGE Fiberglass Crab on the outside of the building and hip graffiti painting outside. Inside the restaurant reminds you of being on a ship if it was autographed by everyone you know. The host was nice and so was my server who was super sweet. The Bad (?): I had been here a few times before and remember being disappointed because of the butter reminded me of the jug of melted popcorn butter instead of real melted butter. - However this time it didn't taste that way so I'm not sure if they changed it but it really won me back as a customer. The Good: Something I did find today that I have never found before is their seafood bread! I don't know what kind of witchcraft it is but it is one of the best things I've had. Think cheddar bay biscuits x100! Overall the Storming Crab is a solid choice. As someone who is a seafood person, if you get a boil, and know how to peel seafood, get the head ON shrimp vs. the head off- it should be fresher and more meat.
