I had planned to send my husbands grandmother flowers for her birthday and was looking at all the different big name florists - 1800flowers, Proflowers, Foryou etc.. then got distracted. Long story short - her birthday came and I freaked out because I didn't get anything set up to send her so I decided to call the local flower shops and Sheltons was first on the list. I live out of town and purchased my order online. I called the next day to confirm, and the woman who answered the phone told me they were already working on it. I mentioned my friends favorite color was yellow, so they threw in more yellow than white daises, which I really appreciated. I thought they were very affordable and timely. This was the "deluxe" version and came to about $67 for delivery and all. read more

Unfortunately the arrangement of flowers purchased look very different than the website depicted. The arrangement was still pretty, but with a different vase (tall and cylindrical instead of short and oval) and much less flowers / filler than the picture. This place is great!! They did my wedding flowers and because they were closed Saturday for Memorial Day weekend we picked up the flowers Friday. I was a little nervous for the lilies in my bouquet and centerpieces but they made it to Saturday evening perfectly. Turns out the florist made a mistake and didn't see that I paid extra for a more full bouquet. She refunded the extra and apologized profusely. The flowers were for a very sick family member so it was really important that the order was done right to begin with. However, mistakes happen and she did everything she could to make it right after the fact. I'd rather have had the order correct than a refund but what's done is done and they tried to make it right. read more

The arrangement they made for a friend's funeral in Amarillo was so Gorgeous! We ordered from out of state and found out the viewing was the day before we had asked the arrangement to be delivered. Shelton's Flowers provided the casket spray and easel wreaths for my mother's funeral earlier this year and provided excellent service and products. I called their office in December to order a holiday arrangement for my mother's gravesite and the representative was not helpful. She explained everything they COULD NOT do. I explained that I had spoken with the cemetery representative and they would be available to assist with the gravesite location. She did not listen and continued to advise me of the difficult delivery process, "because the cemetery is so big". I ended the call and contacted a different florist. They were very surprised to hear about the professional incompetence of the Shelton Flowers representative and was able/willing to place my order for delivery the same day. read more

I recently ordered a bouquet online from Shelton's (a florist I remembered positively from my years living in Amarillo). Unfortunately, the bouquet that my mother received for her 75th birthday didn't resemble the one I had selected (and purchased for $82.95 + $12.50 shipping). It was poorly-arranged and contained cheaper flowers (carnations) than what I'd selected (hydrangeas). If you live out of town, and are ordering for a loved one's special occasion, shop elsewhere. Went in Saturday afternoon to order a corsage for Prom. It was 2:05 and "Open" light was still on. Was greeted by lady who became belligerent with us when she figured out we wanted to place an order. She told us she closes at 2 "that's what it says on the door". I pointed out the light was still on and she told us she was busy and had too much to do so come back on Monday. I didn't have the ability to come back Monday and quite frankly didn't feel like being treated like that again. Went to another shop that afternoon. read more

Great experience on the phone for a long distance order. I was really picky about ordering some type of plant with blooms of a particular color as a get well for someone who would need something easy to care for. They didn't have the exact item I was wanting but did check to see if they could acquire it. Unfortunately, it was not possible to get the specific plant I wanted in time so they provided several alternatives with descriptions, care instructions and they even texted pictures of what they had available! I ordered some sympathy flowers for a friend online early on Friday morning ( couldn't call because we the person they were for works in the same office) Around 3 pm I received a phone call from Shelton's Flowers informing me that they had some computer issues and didn't get notification of my order until just then. The very professional woman that called me was very apologetic and wanted to confirm that the friend I ordered them for would be working until 5pm. After I confirmed her hours the woman said that she wouldn't have time to make the specific flowers I ordered and get them delivered in time but if it was ok with me she would be happy to send something that she had made and would be sure to add extra flowers for an upgrade from what I had originally ordered. Since I have always used their services and have never once been disappointed I said that would be perfectly ok. The flowers arrived surprisingly quick after the phone call and they were absolutely stunning! Way beyond what I had expected and perfect in every way!
