The place isn't too loud, but there are usually casual conversations throughout the shop at any given time. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and was surprised to see the cost amount to $7+. It's definitely on the expensive side for a latte, but the espresso packed a punch and the drink wasn't too sweet. The shop definitely specializes more in brews and black coffees, so if you're looking for either, this place is perfect for it. FOOD Assorted pastries such as cookies and croissants are available for purchase. SERVICE The staff are friendly and helpful, and their camaraderie with each other is great to see. What a great coffee shop! The best part of the shop is that it is large and open and during this time that's a great thing for social distancing! They roast their own beans which is excellent! And they have attentive and knowledgeable baristas who are helpful in selecting your desired cup of coffee... They have a wide selection of beans as well as lattes and teas. Nothing is done half way and they are very intentional about the quality of their cup. The price is reasonable for a specialty shop and I can't wait to come back to try all their roasts! Very good coffee! I did want a latte, and got a black coffee with vanilla flavoring and that was it. But they had a table with sugar and cream, so I added to it, and it was very good! My husband liked his African coffee, which was on rotation today. The butter croissant and pumpkin muffin were very good, although the muffin had raisins in it (not my personal fave). Cute coffee shop! It was very spacious with lots of parking in the lot out front. They had a wide variety of pour overs and espresso options for your drinks. I found my iced latte was made perfectly and I found the prices to be very reasonable. The case pastries looked DELICIOUS, but I did not give in this time so I can't speak to the actual taste of them. The Wi-Fi was easy to connect to and I appreciated the variety of seating available (tables, bar tops, couch, arm chairs, outdoor, etc). The vibe was chill and perfect for studying. Came here to work on some stuff and was pleased with my experience. I got the medium roast black coffee and it was fine, I'm not picky at all when it comes to coffee. Had such a terrible experience here and the coffee was mediocre at best. Ordered a decaf americano and a cappuccino. Waited about 10-15 minutes meanwhile everyone who ordered after us got our drinks before us. Then lady called us over for cappuccino order. I then asked if there was an order still for the decaf as I would've expected that to either come at the same time or even before the cappuccino. With a snarky response and dirty look that she gave me she said "yea I know." I was simply asking if there was still a drink in the works - there was no need to be nasty. This is my favorite coffee shop in Cville to date and the reasons include: amazing mild, medium and dark roast hot and cold brewed coffee options, friendly service, comfy and plentiful seating along with good parking and ambiance. I loved the volume and type of music that was playing and the folks seated around me. I do wish they had some egg pastry options as I came hungry too (muffin or cookie wasn't going to cut it) at 945a but maybe they were all gone by then! I had my usual latte and it was excellent! Milk was textured very well and just the right temperature (not too hot). Some nice latte art was produced. I ordered a latte and the barista made the prettiest latte I've ever ordered! Looks aren't everything though- this is one of the smoothest lattes I've ever had and I can still taste the espresso throughout so it's not too creamy. My husband ordered an Ethiopian coffee and enjoyed it. We also ordered a pumpkin muffin that is very flavorful! The atmosphere is clean, open, and urban feeling. I came in for an oat milk cap and decided to pick up some beans and a croissant. I did like the atmosphere of this place , but the coffee is pretty. A cappuccino is supposed to have more foam than this. I found the staff not very kind or outgoing , but that doesn't reflect my review ... For this place being a roaster there wasn't many beans for sale. I was surprised to see the bag of beans didn't even have a date roaster, but I bought it anyways. These guys made possibly the worst cortado I've ever had. All their coffee beans are super burnt and the atmosphere is extremely rude. I got yelled at for having my mask off between back to back sips of my coffee??!! They also tell you how you should be sitting. I couldn't even stretch my leg for a minute.
