No explanation provided. It's a shame really because is a lovely place. I should add that this was not the first visit but it was the last. Previous visits were better but only marginally. Port Rexton beer seemed widely available for purchase in stores (Salted Stout anyone?), so at my suggestion, Gayle and I came in here for Lunch. She knows that Brewpubs are a favorite of mine and I thanked her again for indulging me. Ours was a perfect part of the afternoon. We ordered our delicious beers at the counter, along with delicious grill cheese sandwiches (mine with prosciutto) from the adjacent "Oh My Cheeses" "food truck". We sat comfortably in their "living room" by the fire on this cool and cloudy day. And since we wanted to stay "just a little bit longer" we ordered another round! Service was friendly and welcoming, just like what we experienced throughout our Newfoundland trip. WiFi was good and among the available reading materials was a local "coffee table" book about a Toronto couple who left city life 25+ years ago to start a B&B. The appetizers were also delicious! We ordered the grilled oysters and cod au gratin. The cod au gratin was quite heavy, but very flavorful. The grilled oysters were delicious and buttery. The Caesar was delicious and so fun to have it prepared tableside! They were out of the gnocchi, so they offered a different house pasta dish. It was nice; I particularly enjoyed the pesto! The maple glazed salmon was also a hit, but I wasn't as impressed with the rice and broccoli it was served with. I think I would select different entrees if I were to go back, but I definitely wouldn't skip any of the appetizers we had! We also enjoyed trying a drink with Newfoundland screech in it and they were nice enough to offer to split it for us! We had a great time here!

The closest experience I can think of after spending a really nice weekend in Trinity was maybe Mendocino, but without the tourist hordes. The Twine Loft Restaurant was very charming, with stellar down home service, and delicious food options that the kitchen was happy to tweak. We both enjoyed the rustic modern dining room, the romantic ambiance, and the view of the water through the window. Our only regret here was that the weekend we were here was cold and foggy, so there was no real sit on the deck at sunset (or sunrise) option. Dinner was extra special at a fixed price of $65 plus beverages. Gayle chose the Moroccan Lamb Shank with Yogurt Mint Sauce (served with Lemon Herb Israeli Pearl Couscous and Roasted Vegetables), while I went for the Atlantic Salmon with Mango & Pickled Onion Salsa (served with lemon roasted potatoes and roasted vegetables).
