This was the third time we've used Shepard Painting and again, we couldn't have been happier with the results. Justin's crew always pays great attention to detail in the preparation prior to painting, including covering plants and patio. Justin provided a detailed estimate and contract after a walk-around inspection and discussing our concerns. We had some window repair prior to painting and Justin worked with our schedule so that painting began the week following the repairs. After the painting was complete, a crew showed up the next day for any touch-up required and Justin did another walk-around with us to make certain the job was completed to our satisfaction. One issue with our house: our eaves had black dust on them - mold? - that we had washed off but it kept returning. Shepard Painting removed it and applied a special paint to ensure it didn't come back and it hasn't. Also, they did extensive preparation before they began painting. The painting itself was detailed and excellent. They were the opposite of sloppy and rushed. Justin is good at color consultation clearly genuinely likes what he does. We had a very positive experience with Shepard Painting. Within a week of the consult/estimate, Justin had a team of two (Richard and Rafael) at our older home to do some interior trim and doorway touch ups. Since we didn't have the original paint, Justin took a sample and had the hardware store come as close as possible to matching the color. The painters were friendly, professional, and finished the job in less than the originally estimated timeframe. In the end, they did a great job and were on budget (very important!). I would definitely consult them for future paint jobs. If I had to give one piece of advice, I'd recommend shoe booties for the workers upon entry to the home - especially in our rainy season. :) read more

Justin's crew were subcontractors on my house remodel and they did a terrible job when I paid for a quality job. And they do not stand behind their work and have "agreed to do a limited amount of work that has nothing to do with their workmanship..." Excuses. Surface preparation was terrible. They painted over spider webs! What kind of prep is that? They painted over staples and plastic sheeting that THEY left in the house when they were doing their limited prep work. They did some scraping of existing peeling paint but they missed a huge amount of areas. In some spots you can see the new paint UNDER the delaminated paint and they claim this is due to poor maintenance of their paint job!!!! It is customary painting practice to deal with protruding nailds and they did an extremely poor job. There a number of protruding nails that have the side of the nail covered in paint! They claim that the nails have popped out because of the age of the house and poor maintenance. How does paint get onto the SIDE of a nail if it was tapped back in prior to being painted? Excuses. Yes I have a bone to pick. I paid for a quality job and I got a blow-and-go. read more

My sister and brother-in-law hired Justin and his team to paint their 100+ year old Craftsmen house. Since they live in Europe, I worked with Justin to coordinate the work.
