1st time cat parent and my Charcoal needed a check up. I chose this place for his 2nd check up ever in his 11months of living due to proximity and recent reviews with other cat owners. Previous place I took him to was farther and he was stress panting afterwards in the car. Room - decent and clean Vet tech - great at handling, Charcoal was scared and did not want to come out of carrier. Able to firmly yet gently pull him out and do tests. Vet himself - Dr Bachint heard my concerns about his scratching tendencies and examined Charcoals ears throughly. We agreed core problem was Charcoal's cat allergy. I still had his ears flushed tho to eliminate any chances. Along with an allergy/steroid shot. Prices - seems reasonable? $60 for check up. Same price as previous place I went to only here had better care. Shot + flushing was additional $$. Prior to Tech taking Charcoal to the back he came in with the invoice asking if it looked alright aka if I wanted to proceed still with shot+flushing. I said yes but I appreciate that the opportunity to refuse was there. Overall - pretty happy with my visit and care Charcoal received. read more

Our dog developed an abscess in her abdomen from a poorly done spay suturing (done at a shelter before we adopted her). Dr. Nanda was very kind, articulate, and thorough in her care for my girl. She clearly loves the animals she serves...you can just tell. Fatima at the front desk was so sweet too! As I was leaving, teary eyed at the thought of leaving my girl for surgery, she assured me that my girl would be ok. She then asked what my dog "called me" and when I told her that we just call me "mama", she said she'd go sit with her for a bit and tell her that, "Mama would be back soon." The surgery was done and my girl was very well cared for by the whole team. We were given excellent after-care instructions. I have nothing but praise for the Dr. and the staff. I brought in a sick stray and they were very compassionate. I highly recommend!

My puppy threw up the other night four times in an hour. The next day he only drank a little water. So I called Shepherd Veterinary, and the receptionist said they would book me for a Noon appointment; she continued to say that she would call me right back within five minutes because the internet was down. I waited four hours for a five-minute callback, but it never came. So I called again four hours later, and they said they gave my appointment to someone else but had a 2:40 appointment. Today, I got jammed just before I left; I noticed I would be ten minutes late. So I called them and told them, and after they hemmed and hawed, they said that you don't have an appointment if you are not there right on the dot. So while they cannot make a return call, they can cancel my appointment because I am ten minutes late and trying to let them know. Final thought yes, I know I would have been ten minutes late. That is my bad. They did nothing to help me on this day or the one coming up. read more

We Had seen this vet 2 times with in 6 weeks for my 18-year-old Shih Tzu. She was diagnosed with sarcoma almost a year ago.. he kept confusing her for my big dog like three times, I kept having to explain who exactly she was! , So he listened to her lungs and her heart and kept telling me it was good , prior visit he did the same but only wanted to give her gabapentin .. NO .. so on May 11. She woke up extremely sick and in bad pain I could not get Codapets to come out to my house fast enough so I took her back to this vet. All he did was listen to her heart and lungs again and say oh she's fine let's do expensive labs n X-rays .. my old girl was suffering bad and in a lot of pain and he didn't even seem to notice that,said cognitive decline .. I wanted her to cross the rainbow bridge. I felt like he was making me feel really bad because I didn't want to pay all that money to have his labs and x-rays done on an 18-year-old dog that was already dying of sarcoma, he agreed to the euthanasia her and I'm very blessed that it went very fast, but they sure rushed me out of there SO extremely fast ,, he had the nurse carry her right out to our car,, and they even left the IV and the green green bandage on her paw. After she died .. I cried and cried when I got home and saw this... I can't believe that vet just wanted to do labs n X-rays on my old girl... he didn't seem to even notice she was in such bad pain.. I will never return... I had a vet tek friend tell me to call or email them because it wasn't right how they left the IV in and how rushed I was but I couldn't call, I was still crying too bad and let them know what they did ,so I sent an email, they didn't even follow back up until I sent the second email asking if they had even seen The 1st one , then I had a lady from there call me back just apologizing saying she could send me out a card. I told her no thank you.. a lot to late ,, like I said I won't be back EVER and I will never stop telling my girls story and how she got treated at this vet. Was really praying for a good caring vet,, NOT FOR US.. EDIT... This not a Fake REVIEW,, YES I liked this vet the first time I saw him , kinda the 2nd too and I did leave good reviews, hoping praying he would be a great new DR... This is my TRUE story n if you have a issue with it I can send proof,, I have receipts, so just leave me a message with ur email ,,would u like to see the pics of the iv they left in her paw too? I Will send ... I'm not trying to ruin any business,, i just don't advise u to take ur pet there for euthanasia ,, No one should go through that.. I'm still traumatized n crying, it's 5/3023 today,,, I Still feel horrible about it all but one last comment I forgot to add,,, when I Ist called there the minute they opened at 9am I told the lady exactly what was going on with my lil dog and could I bring her in ASAP for euthanasia... that's what the visit was made for EUTHANASIA.... The doctor was patient and attentive and thoroughly explained what was going on with my dogs and answered all of my questions. The pricing was very clear and I was given the time and the opportunity to weigh different treatment options. Unlike experiences I've had at other vet hospitals and clinics, I felt like Shepherd acknowledged that pet-care can be a financial burden for many of us and they worked with me to find conservative, but still careful and mindful, options. Most recently, one of my dogs needed surgery, and I appreciated the calls I received during the day updating me. My dogs actually enjoy going to this see Dr.Bachint. The fact that they are never scared in the office speaks volumes to this entire staff of magical people. Multiple staff members physically getting down on the ground to lovingly greet my excited puppy helps foster a calming atmosphere in a stressful situation. No one wants to have their loved ones be sick, but you NEED someone you can rely on to help get your pets through the tough times. He's younger so he uses a more modern approach and I trust that my pets are getting the best care. His office is brand new, so it's very clean and modern. His staff is wonderful as well. I cannot say enough good things about them. However, they had a very corporate feel: high charges, up-selling: across-the-board policies managing care. I was very pleased with Dr Bachint and his staff. He treated my dog based on her health and needs. He made recommendations without trying to up-sell me to purchase things at his office, or do more tests and services that my geriatric pet needed. I wasn't able to get my baby into our regular veterinary so I was told this was a good place. My baby had been loosing allot of weight and throwing up and very weak. I took her in and was told they needed to do labs and x-rays ($858) I agreed to the tests. They explained what was wrong sent her home with medication. Was told that if she got worse to call and they would get her in. I called the next day and the day after that and was told that her not wanting to eat was normal. They would not see her. Weekend came around and of course they were closed so I took her to an ER pet hospital. They took her to the exam room and they came in to tell us that our baby was dying. She died within 10 minutes after being put in the exam room. This all happened within 3 days after being seen at this office. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Go anywhere else but here. They might have not been able to save her but she wouldn't have gone through all the pain she went through. read more

Wouldn't recommend, nice environment but the Dr. Showed no sympathy for our dog. He was rushed to be seen, our dog supposedly had a liver infection and we just found out he was on his last that night, and after spending 600+ he didn't care what we did, as long as we paid or got out. We were rushed because they were closing, my dog was slowly dying and we didn't know how long we had left or what else we could do. The doctor suggested to have him stay there for $1500+ and that was for almost 3-4 nights. Didn't tell us the side effects of what could and couldn't happen after the medication he gave our dog, and what to do. As we waited to pay, he was playing with a little basketball and joking around with his staff while we were just waiting there to pay after being told "my staff is waiting to go home and you guys are the only patients here " to make a decision to save his life, put him down or just deal with the situation home and see how our dog recovers. Later that night our dog wouldn't move , as if he was just overly dosed with the steroids, he couldn't even open his eyes. So we just laid him down to sleep and later I witness he broke out into a seizure and after that I was scared, crying and panicking because idk what is happening or what could be going on. After a couple hours of him going through this much pain, we couldn't touch him because he was so sore from his shots, and sadly he left us. All I can say is I don't trust this doctor, he's money hungry. No sympathy. Lack of respect. And he told us he was a newly doctor. We didn't know how bad our dog was or what's happening. We just did the X-rays, blood work and mainly his medications. I wish we would've let us know how we could've dealt with this situation better. No one called us to check up on our dog. After being told " you can bring him back in tomorrow in the morning ". read more

if your dog is old or dying and you go within a few hours from closing don't go, no compassion. they will push you out the door and try to make you make fast decisions, but didn't mind racking up the bill . My dog died that night , never did I receive a follow up phone call. upon trying to check out the staff were playing and laughing in a room causing us to stand and wait . The vet Doctor is terrible in my opinion, he talked with no sympathy for our dog just wanted money, also don't leave your pet over night he stated he isn't going to be watching your "dog all night" through a camera, he said we needed to hurry and make a decision of hospitalize or leaving because they closed at 6pm " they needed to get him hooked up " just terrible don't waste your time or money!!! go to someone else that actually cares about pets! read more
