It is now the 28th, and my wife and I have left five voicemails and received no response. Now the East Coast is covered in ice. Very unprofessional I have American Home Sheild and they came out three times 2nd time didn't get a text no a phone call man just showed up the 3rd time was to be here between 10-2 he showed up at 3:30 not call or text. Heat worked while they were here but 2-3 o'clock in morning it wouldn't keep up with thermostat that was on a Monday. Tuesday morning 9:00 am called back and explained that it was doing the same thing, young lady said she would call me back. Well I never got a call back so I called them back on Wednesday and young lady said tech said it was working when he left and closed the work order. How can u close a work order and I had 30 days to call back mind u I call back very next day. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL so I ask warranty company to send me a new company which they did. Very unprofessional. intentionally overcharged me. extremely rude attitude and behavior. Sprayed toxic chemicals into running air handler, which made everyone in the house sick. My wife has asthma, she couldn't breath. We had to leave the the house and air it out for the rest of the day. About 2 week to get the smell out of the house. read more

The first company that came out told me there was a major problem and strongly recommended I shell out for a new HVAC system. I requested a second diagnosis from American Home Shield and they contacted Shepherd. Shawn came out, diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Explained the issue in layman's terms and got it done. Spent 11.3 k for new heating and air conditioning . Which was a higher price then the other quote we got. But they promised to be very professional and not damage our home and that they would wear booties and put down tarps . None of which they did. They were horrible . Put in thermostats that didn't work accurately. Cut some wires to the fans and left it! We had to hire a different company to come in and fix their mess! We did contact the owner repeatedly but he never even came to check it out. He just kept sending the same idiots that did it in the first place ! He obviously doesn't care . DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY! Completely unreliable, customer service is horrible and they will not return your call. If you call them you will never get a person. I had to use them because of our home warranty company dispatched them to repair our AC. The technician finally arrived and attempted to repair the AC, he departed telling me it was repaired. It was not, and when I called American Home Shield to get them back out to repair it they refused to come. This all occurred over a two week period which the AC is still not repaired. I purchased a heat pump system from Greg in 2010 (company then was Peformance Air LLC but same person). The system has been a lemon and they have just band aided the system. Now I am being told it's out of warranty and can not get a phone call back from Greg. Is this good business? I would think twice before using Shepherd's. Unresponsive and unreliable. Got referred to Shepard's through warranty company last year to replace the HVAC in the attic. They replaced the unit but did not re-install the a/c float switch. We were initially happy with the install and did not notice. A year later, the pan filled up and since the unit didn't cut off, the water overflowed and caused the bedroom ceiling to collapse. Tried calling Shepard's to come out and at least take a look at the system they installed but they insisted that we had to go through the warranty company. The warranty company in turn said they weren't reliable because of Shepard's improper install. We asked them to come out and fix it as a repair separate from the warranty but never got a response. Definitely think twice before giving them a call. read more

To say that I am pleased with Shepherd's Heating & Air would be an understatement. I have had technicians come to my home on two different occasions for issues with each of my heat pumps. Each time I found them to be professional, efficient, knowledgeable and most respectful of me and my home. Today, a technician by the name of "Jeremy" came for the call. He was friendly, neat, and made sure I understood the problem at hand and the required remedy to fix it. He emphasized for me not to hesitate to call should I have any further problems, questions or concerns. He treated me as if I was his only and most important customer of the day. What a great asset he is to this company! Should I have any future needs for heat pump service, I will definitely request Shepherd's Heating & Air when calling my home warranty company. Band aid service. Not thorough and lazy. I have a warranty on my house and when my AC went out last year they contracted Shepherds to do the work. They filled up the unit with freon and the AC was working again. 1 month in a half later the AC was out again apparently due to a coil. This year summer hit and again the AC was not cooling. Again my warranty company contracted Shephards and the guy comes out and puts freon. I did some research while he was there and found that freon is not supposed to need to be applied every year and in fact is only supposed to be needed every couple years unless there is a leak. I mentioned that to him and he said yea you probably have a small leak but small leaks are hard to find so it would be really difficult to find it. As long as you keep putting freon you should be fine. I called my warranty company and they mentioned that the leak needs to be fixed and that they would put in for them to come back out. The same guy comes to for the supposed leak testing and does nothing. Instead when he finds out what he is there for he calls his manager to complain about having to do the leak testing and then leaves. He reports to his company as if he performed a leak test and all was fine. I now have to waste another day to have another company come out and do the work that should have been done from the beginning. read more
