Wortman Mechanical is a locally trusted name here in Culpeper. This is a family run business and they only know how to do business the right way! I've used them in the past and this time I had called Brian and let him know my AC had been running a lot longer than usual. He came over the same day and the system was reading low on refrigerant and with the system being only 9 years old he put a few pounds in and it was working well. A few months later it was doing it again, he had Paul come over and they did a leak test and found that there were pin hole leaks in the evaporator coil in the basement. They ordered my new coil and PJ had it installed first thing Monday morning and they had the old unit out and the new one in and before I knew it I had nice cold air blowing out the vents!! Some places would have tried to sell you an entire system but here they tell you the options and let you make the call. Couldn't ask for a more experienced company that takes care of its customers and puts doing the right thing over the all mighty dollar. I'll never use anyone else for all of my home repair needs!! We hired Wortman Mechanical to install LED wafer lights in our too dark kitchen. Ryan and Blake showed up as scheduled, and did a wonderful job removing two ceiling fans, centering one of the two as requested, installing six wafer led lights (after confirming we liked the placement of the lights), replacing the existing over the sink light with a wafer led light and capping the holes left from where the ceiling fans were originally installed. They also installed dimmer switches for the ceiling lights and the over the sink light, plus fixed a problem that a pre-existing problem with the switches (supposed to be three way but did not work as such) in the kitchen, dining room and entry. Very pleased with their work, impressed with the courtesy they showed and grateful they were so efficient, not only in performing the work but in cleaning up any installation or dry wall debris from where the new lights were installed. I had reached out to Brian back on Christmas Eve least year when my heat went out and I came home Sunday evening on Labor day weekend and the AC wasn't blowing cold air at all. So Monday morning (Labor Day) I sent Brian a text and told him my issue, he said I will be over at 10am! That was 2 hours from when I called him on a Holiday weekend and the "Owner" came out to my house, are you kidding me? This kind of customer service doesn't even exist anymore but it does with Wortman Mechanical! Brian ran some tests and bought me some time with my AC. Have a 2nd visit schedule this week to see how the unit is operating. I can't say enough good things about Brian and his entire staff that he has working for him. Had my second 5 star experience with Wortman and I am so thrilled to know that I have a reliable plumbing and HVAC contact. Not only are they very responsive, they set expectations from the initial phone call so you know how soon they can come out to you, and the technicians are courteous and knowledgeable. The first time they came out was to install a new smart thermostat, and they fixed some issues we were having with the electrical connection. Recently worked with Paul who fixed our pressurized toilet and he was on time, friendly, and very courteous and took appropriate COVID precautions (mask, distance, and booties). We discovered a small leak under the sink in our kitchen at 6 a.m. on a Saturday. My husband's repair attempt resulted in a giant geyser of a leak, which quickly flooded the area under the sink. I submitted a quote request on Yelp, and received 3 responses within 20 minutes. Wortman was the only one that had a number to call, and the answering service connected me with the technician Wes Shepard immediately. After describing the problem to him, he headed right over to our house. The repair was completed an hour later.
