Bathtub and shower are separate, but the bathtub is little old looking so I didn't use it. They also have shampoo, moisturizer and liquid soap in the shower, and disposable house shoes. Sheets and pillows are clean and soft. They also offer robes. The 5 stars because Greenbelt 3 mall is right across the street, so everything is walking distance, even the MRT crossing from greenbelt mall to Landmark and SM mall. Because the mall is right across the street and the hotel is clean with friendly staff, I'd book here again.

The check-in and check-out process seemed to take forever, and I can't imagine what it would be like during peak season when they're likely slammed. It's not all bad though. I think it's nice that they use Malin+Goetz products in the bathroom. And the bed itself seemed the one new contemporary thing in the room, which made for a comfortable sleep. The breakfast selection was decent, and a complimentary welcome drink was a nice touch. Still, given the variety of competition and options in the neighbourhood, I wouldn't make it a top choice despite it being the closest walk to Greenbelt.

The Manila Hotel is beautiful and the history of it all speaks volumes. The architecture, art pieces and ambience highlights the culture and foundation of this amazing hotel. When walking inside Manila Hotel they have many beautiful Filipiniana gowns displayed by many different artists. Each gown is meticulously pieced together by Filipino artists and stylists. It was important for us to see this hotel as we pass on the importance of culture and history to our children. I remember when I was much younger my grandparents and grandfather would take us here for lunch and during the summer when I'm off school with family and friends. The Manila Hotel has sentimental value for our family (on both sides). My grandfather was a prominent lawyer in the 70s, 80s and 90s. When he was busy working and meeting clients here, he would make sure to have us picked up and brought here so he wouldn't miss dinner with us. Love the aesthetics of the hotel along with the paintings that hang along the hotel and the hallway towards Cafe Ilang Ilang. Felt the history of it all when I last visited Manila Hotel at 8 years old. Thankful to be able to visit this place and show our child the rich history of Manila Hotel so she can write about it. When we checked in, the receptionist said the breakfast buffet would be 600php, we didn't decide then because we wanna see what's on the menu first. Upon checking in the morning, the breakfast fee has gone up to 950php. Basically, they want you to decide right there and then when you check in haha. Also, we booked an airport shuttle service through the same receptionist upon check in, to ensure we can be at the airport at 2am for our flight. We were on time, headed to the lobby, only to find out the the receptionist booked our shuttle service for 4am instead. Mind you, they asked for 1400php fee for this service. They wanted us to wait for the earliest shuttle they can call (to arrive in 20mins) since they already booked for one. The receptionist even asked for our flight details, as if they know any better. We demanded a refund and good thing they gave it. We just booked a grab (uber in the Philippines) and the driver arrived in 2 mins. The ride fee is only 300php compared to the hotel's fee. Way worth it to get a grab and tip the driver. Overall, wouldn't come back to this hotel. You could get a better hotel, better location, better service for a better price.

Service was too slow, drinks aren't stiff enough and the prices are too high. The swimming pool is on a roof which sounds cool but the sun was blazing hot. Not enough shaded seats. Prior to the trip, I researched online for available dates and they had them ending of April as Holy Week was already complete. Ascott has sister hotels including Citadines, Somerset, and many more. This hotel doesn't charge daily resort fees as other hotels properties do. There is free parking, but why drive in organized chaos? The Philippines has all sorts of transportation options like Private Hired Drivers, Jeepney, Grab/Taxi, even Light Rail! This amazing hotel overlooks the city night lights with a restaurant serving the most-exquisite Western & Asian/Filipino food fronting the swimming pool, living walls and jacuzzi. I've heard that this Ascott hotel has the widest swimming pool in Makati. Ascott has two towers, this most recent visit was in the Ayala Tower on 21F that boasts beautiful views towards Manila Bay, private estates/villages Fort Bonafacio Global City Skyline and the surrounding areas of the Metro. Located in Ayala Center, Ascott is set up right on top of Glorietta Mall. SM Makati is also next door. Glorietta is also connected to The Landmark Mall as well as Greenbelt. If that's too much urban for you, you can take a break while walking around the lush gardens of Greenbelt avoiding sounds of the city to soothe your soul. The lobby is situated on the 6F floor. Once checked in, you need to find the correct elevators to your tower. The elevators are controlled by your hotel room key so security is not only present at the Hotel front entrance, but also within the hotel. Fitness Center is open 24 hours of the day. It's decent enough for a light workout, lots of cardio equipment, and a separate room for boot camp exercise. Unfortunately, the Spa was closed for renovations. Makati can be very hustle and bustle, with serene hidden gardens, Filipino cultural experiences, in such a great urban destination like Manila. With countless eateries, shopping and basically lots of things to see around you. This location will keep you, your travelling group, or if with family members, well entertained and intrigued. Our room was a 1 Bedroom Executive Suite with a large king bed, bathroom was equipped with standup shower, plenty of bathroom counter space, bedroom had a cozy work desk, and kitchen with washing machine. Complementary breakfast buffet was also included each day. Living room was nicely furnished with a large flat screen TV. I was surprised to find a large filtered water dispenser in the kitchen. The staff here was exceptional! They were courteous and friendly. Front desk also allowed a late check out upon departure as the flight home was scheduled later in the evening. If you come to Manila, it is a must to stay here!
