Broken elevators, rats outside, coffee in the lobby was tan water....would go one star but room was nice

For a brand new renovation I would have expected better. I've been to this spot before and thought it was ok - but after renovation I still only thought it was ok. Friendly staff and I did get onto the club floor - more on that later... My room seemed nice but upon investigation, sheets on one of the beds were stained (looked almost like grease or tar somehow) - not sure how they made it on the bed - was pretty noticeable. The shower floor had what almost looked like food in various spots. So many that I didn't want to step on it. I did mention to the front desk staff - and supposedly it was cleaned but when I went back in I would say it wasn't fully cleaned. Bed was sort of comfy but their sheets sort of only tuck around so the bottom sheets move a lot. Maybe some wouldn't be bothered by this though. The rest of the room was clean. Hand soap in the bathroom was a pretty large pump container of a nice brand soap - bit it was almost empty. As to the club... happy hour consisted of cold chicken bites, a small plate of cheese/fruit and some small desserts. Desserts were good but overall somewhat lacking. Almost better to have a better cheese/meat platter and scrap the chicken (warm) item. Sparkling water (and flavored water) machine was always on as was the coffee maker (with options for cappuccinos, etc) and a fridge with soda was open. Other hotel club areas also have beer/wine, but this spot did not. Breakfast in the club was much better - eggs, sausage, bacon, various breads and pastries and juices, yogurts, etc. very solid buffet. I'm sure I'll be back as it's a decent spot in the area but would expect more from a recent renovation. One elevator was also out of service... The gym was nice and large and common areas done well but rooms could be improved. read more

I stayed here last week from Monday to Friday, it's pretty standard except for: - low water pressure in the shower - short blankets, I like to cover my whole body including my head under the covers but I couldn't do that, I'm 5'3". - On the 2nd day, I saw that they did not clean the hair on my bath tub, you can see from the picture. - On 4th day, did not replace the dirty/used glasses. - The shampoo, conditioner and body wash were on the musculine scent. i come out of the shower smelling like a man read more

Staff are very attentive, but just not enough of them. Not their fault, but things just kind of slip due to understaffing. I had to change rooms due to water leakage and visible mold on the ceiling. They immediately got me a new room, but the TV had a line down the screen and room service took honestly too long. One of the managers brought me the order and apologized for the wait (again, staff who are here are great), but owner/senior management need to figure out pay rates and how to staff this hotel adequately. I want to thank all of the staff who I interacted with because y'all rock. Thank you! read more

Absolutely horrible experience! Do not stay here! We stayed the weekend for my daughter's special needs cheer competition - and left our iPad in the room, under the pillow on the bed. I remembered it after we were an hour down the road, checked the location of the iPad on my phone, and it was still showing there at the hotel. There was NO QUESTION that I left it there, I specifically remember not grabbing it and I knew exactly where I left it. I called the hotel and spoke with 'Corey' at the front desk, who said yes, they found one, but housekeeping was gone for the day, and when they came back the next day he would speak with them and arrange a shipping label be printed out, to ship it back to us, as we live in OKC. The next day I didn't get a phone call so I finally called at 3:30 pm and spoke with 'Robert', who transferred me to 'Sabrina' the asst. General Manager - who is incredibly rude, condescending, with zero empathy or any sort of personality - and she told me they NEVER found anything in my room!! This is a $649 iPad that was just purchased at Christmas, four months ago. I was practically begging for SABRINA to do the right thing, and pleading with her to speak to the housekeeper that cleaned our room, because that's who ABSOLUTELY found the iPad! But 'Sabrina' just kept talking over me stating, "I have completed my investigation, and nothing was found", over and over. Which is IMPOSSIBLE. They are liars and thieves. It's actually pathetic and so upsetting. I have filed a formal complaint with the corporate headquarters and made a police report. There was NO QUESTION where I left the iPad. It still showed it was there an hour after we left! Then someone turned it off and it hasn't shown a location since then. Awful Awful Awful service and zero professionalism!!!!! I am sure Sabrina will respond to THIS review and throw me under the bus, even though I was the victim of a crime at her hotel! I have read other reviews using her first and last name stating how rude she is. Please, Sheraton, do better! STOP hiring thieves! ** Update - once the thief turned ON our iPad a week later, she decided to take some selfies. What she didn't know, was that we were able to locate the iPad at that time. We had an address and called the Frisco police back to let them know! Lo and behold, after they called Sabrina to let her know this information, she called the police department back and said she had the iPad at the hotel ready to pick up! So she apparently let her employee (I'm sure she was the housekeeper that cleaned our room) that lived at that address know that we were about to find out who she was - and the employee brought the iPad back! The selfie that the employee/thief took was taken at her house, the exact date we left the hotel, at 10:40 pm that same night! "Old Folks" by Chris Botti plays and my mind goes to the wonderful stay at Sheraton Stonebriar in Frisco, Texas...it's taken me a few day for the words-of-review to form..."You Are My Hiding Place" by Selah begins and this is exactly what this two-day-stay was for me, "a hiding place". The aromatics of the Sheraton Club are somewhat hypnotic and transcending in the inhale. The Twilight Crepe Myrtle's, the kindness of the front desk associates, were truly genuine, so-much-so that when the occasional-burned-out-associate was UNKIND to me, forgiveness was my offering. Why allow the enemy to steal the joy He did not give. The like's of Chassity, Nickole, Jade and the well-groomed-gentleman at the front desk, who checked me in, I have yet noticed until this very moment, it took 3 women and a member of the LGBTQIA Community to enhance my stay...my focus goes to 3 women and an open hearted courages individual. I begin to weep for these individuals for the walks of life they travel. I pray that the kindness given is returned unto them 100 FOLD! To the management of Sheraton-Rosewood Group, a heartfelt thank you. It is only until now, I recognize you have been My-True-Hiding-Place, the stays at all your establishments have served as times of refreshing and healing in the places of my life where I had been taken for granted and mistreated. For that I want to say Thank You and encourage you to keep up the good work. This is a terrible hotel not so much because of the facilities or rooms, but because they don't realize they are serving guests. The service and staff are what make it so bad. It's been about a year since my last review and I am doing an about-face. The Sheraton's team mobilized immediately after I posted the Yelp review. I got phone calls from the General Manager, individual attention from their sales team and recognition from the hospitality staff each time I called or visited. The mini fridge I previously had such a terrible time getting in-room was there reliably. I wondered if the attention and service would wane in the weeks that followed but no. It's been a year and while my visits are more infrequent, I have found the hotel and staff reliable. I have come to enjoy staying here. The facility is all the better this year. The hotel has completed its renovations and there are no longer tarps or construction materials visible. I would recommend staying here! ---- Previous review: I travel here about once a month for work as it's the project team's preferred hotel. As much as I've had to rely on this hotel for my travel needs as a mother of a baby (important refrigeration and freezer access needs), I cannot recommend that you stay here. Mothers, stay far far away. 'NOT MY FAULT!' The hotel is well aware of my needs for my baby. Half the time, my requests are NOT fulfilled as, somewhere in their operations, someone drops the ball. There is zero accountability as there is always somewhere else to blame when something goes wrong. The sales desk says they told the front desk who told housekeeping who told maintenance, yada yada yada. No one straight out takes ownership. And no one makes sure the problem doesn't happen again. As I said, only half the time are things ever right. That's unacceptable. BYE BYE OPERATOR There are few people in the world that make my blood boil. One is an orange orangutan who tweets. The other is the SHERATON OPERATOR who handles the phones. Each time I call about my in-room fridge not being here upon check-in, she answers and talks to me like I'm deranged. Because, as she says, the hotel does not own an in-room fridge that has a freezer compartment. And when she hears me tell her that I've stayed there throughout the year and used such a unit each time, she again tells me there is no such unit. Will she someday convince me I am crazy? Will the hotel FINALLY TRAIN HER SOME MANNERS FOR BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE? Or as I'd prefer, she separate from the hotel forever and ever. But hell will freeze over first. UP THE CHAIN TO NOWHERE Hell, when I complained up the chain about sustained mistakes, it took multiple weeks and lots of prodding from me to get hotel and corporate management to correctly administer their 'apology'. This is far from the Platinum service I got before maternity leave. RENOVATIONS The hotel is undergoing renovations. And parts that are not undergoing renovations sure can do with some! read more

The ugliest Sheraton I've ever stayed in, super run down! Definitely needs upgrades! I think the motel at any other place is more luxurious, that should explain it all! I tried to get in my room at 9p with my 3 kids. Ooops can't get in the battery on the door was out! I asked the manager on duty to get me in, nope she couldn't said she they'll contact engineer. Looked at my watch 12am still no luck in getting in. I asked if I could get another room so my kids can go to bed. She said I would have to pay for it out of pocket! WTF?! Excuse my French but I'm sitting in the lobby with toddlers locked out of my room & I have to pay to get my boys in bed? Where's the hospitality????! After they contacted engineer seems like he had a hard time getting access so the offered me another room and said they will open my room the next day......the next day? I needed personal hygiene, personal items and not to mention my kids medicine & pjs. We'll I guess we all had to go to bed in our all day sweaty clothes from being out in the park all day in Texas weather! Overall horrible customer service experience & terrible hospitality! Platinum elite Marriott member and must say this hotel needs major updating. Staff at check in was not friendly then the room was so beat up. Bed was comfy but that was about it. Had no body wash in shower and when you flushed the toilet it ran for 3 1/2 minutes. Thank god we got complimentary breakfast from status because I would have been mad if I had actually paid $19.99 for bacon runny eggs and frozen heated up pancakes. Made complaints when I checked out and was told they would add extra points for the inconvenience and they lied!! nothing added to my account. One plus great area lots of great eating places it is sad they have let this hotel run down like this. read more

Amazing 5 star stay and service the weekend of May 5, 2023. Celine welcomed us like Royalties! I was injured at a restaurant dear by that evening, thus making it difficult to get around. She provided wheel chair service, care and concern. Who does this? She is truly the face and first expression for Sheratons Hotels. This is a nice hotel. It has all the amenities you would expect from a nice hotel. The staff is very friendly, the room was immaculately clean, the decor and ambience is both beautiful and relaxing. That being said, for a hotel of this caliber I have to expect not to feel like I'm sleeping on a plastic mattress cover on a toddler's bed. It crinkled and just had this weird, uncomfortable feel to it all night. Was it the worst? No....but it was annoying. Also, the shower in the room was one of those beautiful walk in jobs with a half door.....wait, what? A half door? Yeah, it sounds good on paper but in reality it was cold in there, and I basically soaked the entire bathroom while washing my hair. Room service wasn't remarkable. Barely edible pastries, decent fruit, really good coffee....just meh. All in all it wasn't horrible but with all the hotels around I'd probably check out others next time. read more

On Tuesday of this week I experienced the most amazing housekeeping of all time! I've stayed at the Ritz, Montage, Boutiques and everything in between---but never ever have I experienced the level of care and attentiveness that she/he gave me. It had been a long and not so good trip but coming back to this care made my day. It felt like my mom had come in and cleaned my room, like when I was a child. Truly made my day so much better I hope they find this person and give her a big hug for me because I asked the front desk and no one could locate this angel thank you so much! read more

Nice room. Not great hotel. Booked on hotel.com for $145 total with taxes and fees included but then when we arrived the full charge was $175 so clearly something is off there. We checked in online around 12 and we're supposed to receive a text when our room was ready but that never came. We arrived at the hote around 7:30pm and then we got the text while sitting in the room. They put our family of four that included a 1 and 4 year old on the first floor around the corner (only a couple doors down) from the bar. Luckily there was no incident but didn't seem like a good idea. The absolute worst part was we were next to the stairwell and there was an alarm going off in the stairwell. My husband went to the front desk to inform them of the alarm and they were already aware and said they would have the engineer take a look. We'll the alarm went on through the night keeping us all up. It was loud but people were constantly coming and going through the stairwell all night and every time the door opened it was deafening. The ice machine was also broken and no fridge in the room. All this leaves us with no desire to return. There are so many hotels in the area that there is no reason to book again. read more

We had family stay here for my son's graduation this weekend, and they have the smallest hotel rooms I think I've ever seen. It is disappointing that they do not have microwaves or refrigerators in the room. They also asked the maids not to clean, but after they came back the room had been cleaned. I don't think I would recommend this hotel again. read more

Enjoyed 2 nights here with family for a weekend driving through the state. Our room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable- slept like a baby! The hotel is a little outdated, which I expected. It would've been nice to have a small refrigerator and microwave especially when you're traveling with kids. A nice hotel near various shops and restaurants. Its not easy to find from street view so use GPS. The room was nice and employeed provided great customer service. They are providing Covid19 restrictions and social distancing. Housekeeping isn't cleaning rooms due to covid but will provide items when requested. The only problem I had with property is that they didn't try to offer me an upgrade even though I am update eligible. They didn't "THANK ME" for being an Elite member and offer my 500 gift points as allowed. You don't have free breakfast on the weekends unless you book a room with executive room access even though the executive room is currently closed. Otherwise the hotel was enjoyable but not MARRIOTT STANDARDS enjoyment. This is coming from a Founder of Get Up Radio Media, member of the National Press Club of Washington DC, who used to work as a Marriott employee and understands the term "Marriott Family". I would still suggest Marriott members and Elite members to book at the local Residence Inn or Courtyard instead if possible 2 miles further down. ENJOY! read more

We booked a room almost two weeks in advance for Sat Dec 2nd. We were at Six Flags, so we called a few hours after official check in time to let them know we would be arriving later in the evening. At this time we were told as long as we got there before 4 am, we would have a room THEN we verified our reservation of 2 queen beds. Next we were told our room was given away, but they would put a roll away in our room right away and everything would be ready when we got there. When we arrived around 8:30 we discovered they had NO room for us. After scrambling they gave us a room with ONE King for our family of five promising a roll away as soon as we got to the room. We never received a roll away, our tv did not work, and we were on the floor with active renovations. Doors open and available for anyone to enter. We were also promised room service breakfast and when we went to order were told it was actually the buffet. It was a complete disaster and we asked for a refund. We would not have even stayed, but it was late and we have 3 small children. At one point they brought us blankets for our children to sleep on the floor as they had already given away all the roll away beds. This was an insult and not hygienic, so we slept in ONE King sized bed with 2 adults, a 10 year old, a 6 year old, and a 2 year old. This was a special birthday trip for my daughter and it was totally ruined with this hotel experience. To add insult to injury, the hotel has yet to refund us despite multiple communications with the assistant manager and general manager. They also refuse to refund the entire amount of our stay. Other families were in similar situations as us this night as well. We very disappointed in the Sheraton and do not recommend this location. read more

My husband and i had to stay at this hotel for 11 days and we were not impressed with the service here. We didn't have a fridge or a microwave so we didn't have a place to store our food or to keep it fresh. The room service was not great, we had people walk in on us twice. Every morning we were woken up to loud noises through the walls and when i went to the pool i was asked to show my hotel access card when i just asked where it was. I would def recommend a different hotel for the price and what they offer. read more

I really liked this hotel for several reasons: 1. Parking is close to your room 2. The beds are really big and comfortable 3. Easy to find your room 4.front staff was helpful and nice I had to give them 4 stars because the sliding bathroom door wouldn't slide out. Meaning that we had no door because it wouldn't slide out. And also because I found short black hair on my bed. I have long brown hair that goes past my waist so I couldn't be my hair. I think they did wash it because the bed was mostly clean. Iv worked in the hotel industry and they was the sheets in a big washing machine then put it in this machine that gets out the wrinkles and dries it. I took a little getaway last month and after much deliberation, I chose this property. Being a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member, I am able to make requests for my room prior to my arrival. This was the second trip I've taken during the pandemic and sadly, neither time did they have my room adequately prepared but this property was able to recover fairly easily. The property is at an odd placement/setting from the street. The hotel isn't that old, it's also relatively small at less than 200 rooms. The staff was all extremely courteous and friendly. They didn't have many/any amenities open during my stay. No restaurant other than weekend breakfast, no open gym either. The rooms themselves are in dire need of an update. It felt like I was transported to 15 years ago when I got into my room. Lots of earth tones, natural wood accents, etc. The TV was relatively small and the quality was mid tier. I was super spoiled at the Westin Medical Center Houston, what can I say? Overall, this was definitely a value for the price and would stay here again easily. read more

I have to start with a disclosure. I do stay at hotels frequently at least once or twice a month. Often I have the opportunity to stay at nice hotels. Having said that this hotel is not in the upper echelon category to begin with. However there's one reason I would give it a three star review and not hire. When I think of a hotel there's really one main reason you go to a hotel and that is to sleep. That's something I did very little love during this stay. The beds were atrocious as were the pillows. Bed bugs. I woke up with several bites on my legs so I searched the room and caught a bed bug. The hotel/ pest control confirmed it was a bed bug. I paid in full for both nights and checked out. The hotel cleaned all my clothes and delivered them to the next hotel. I threw out my suitcase before I got home and rewashed/dry cleaned everything to ensure I did not bring bed bugs home. read more

The good- parking is really close and there's a lot of very good food options close by the hotel, the pool area is nice. The gym is clean and was never crowded while we were there. The staff was accommodating and very pleasant. Probably some of the nicest hotel staff I have come across. The bad- the food leaves a lot to be desired. We had room service our first night and breakfast some other days. The ugly- there is construction going on and it can be loud. The rooms are dated and drab. There is no fan in the bathroom, so don't drop a deuce if you're not comfortable with your SO smelling what you've been cooking. read more

I stayed once a month ago and it was fine, no complaints except that the room felt sticky, humid. But that's Texas. So I booked again... When I checked in the woman confirmed that id be checking out in two days. I told her I honestly couldn't remember if I booked 1 or 2 nights because I did it far in advance so I agreed. Went into my room took my shoes off after a long drive, and stepped on a piece of glass, luckily it didn't pierce the skin. Took the large shard downstairs to get a "sorry about that." Ordered breakfast this morning for some cold bacon and eggs for $30 and called to ask for some ketchup... The woman told me I could come down and get the ketchup because they would charge me to bring me some... Isn't the point of room service so that you don't have to leave your room? Then... I get a call around 2pm saying they have that I'm only staying one night and I should be checked out by now. I told her what I was told by the woman the day I checked in and she replied, "she is our newest employee..." Is this my problem? Needless to say Frisco is so up and coming there's bound to be a place here to meet the needs of their guests. Disappointed. read more

We originally checked into the south building and found the room dirty, with the headboard peeling, stain on the chair, and mold on the curtains. We told the staff immediately and they moved us to the north building which was supposed to be new. The staff said everyone wants to be in the new north building. The new room was fine, and service was average. We were placed in a handicap accessible room which looked clean. The worst part was that when I got home I had bites all over my legs and torso. My wife is an RN and had a doctor look at the pictures. He thought bed bugs because of the pattern of bites. Apparently they don't always show up right away, but did appear the day we checked out and were back in Minneapolis ... so a week later I am still dealing with a few itchy bites. I have stayed at the Sheraton in McKinney and it was immaculate and with great service. I go to Frisco/Plano a lot for work, and usually stay at the Embassy in Frisco. Stayed here at the Sheraton Stonebriar in May and seriously, this is one of the CLEANEST hotels I've EVER stayed at---and I've been to a lot! Because I travel so much for work, I'm accustomed to completely inspecting the room before unpacking and the cleanliness standards were impeccable. Not only that, I had a presentation I wanted to get ready for, and the GM was super accommodating and offered up his conference room for me to prepare, making sure the temperature was fine, and there were no interruptions. Of course, the newness makes the hotel 'pretty', yet the rooms are just the right size--I love the long desk and the uber-comfy beds, and especially the over-abundance of towels. Highly recommend for anyone going to the Frisco/Plano area--oh yeah, the gym was pretty awesome too :) read more

This hotel a pretty small hotel with only about 4 floors, but the floors are pretty large once you get up there. I had free wifi during my stay which is always a plus. Parking is very convenient and right outside of the hotel. The room itself was about a 3 out of 5. I was surprised at that considering their website says that the property had recently been renovated. The furniture is pealing some, the headboards aren't in great shape, and the overall room lighting was pretty poor. I like to open the curtains and let the bright sun in while im in the room, and the room I had didn't allow hardly any sunlight into the room. Im not sure if it was just the direction my room was located, but it made for a pretty dark room all day long despite excellent sunlight outside. Service was good, and starwood also gave me a voucher for 50% off of all room service I ordered which was a nice touch (even though I didn't use it). I usually stay at the Sheraton Downtown which is like a city in and of itself, so im used to a way more active hotel than this one...But if you like a smaller scale hotel in which the front desk people remember your name and speak each and every time you pass them, then this is the hotel for you.
