I'm not sure how to go about updating the Yelp listing, but the Sherman IGA has been The Daily Market since last summer (2025), when Rich and Cassie Parente purchased it from Mike Luzi, the wonderful* former owner. (*Once, when we realized we'd forgotten a leash for the pup and searched for one at the IGA to no avail, Mike asked around, and one of his employees gave us an extra leash he had in his car!) As much as we liked Mike's IGA -- it had a fantastic butcher's counter and great sandwiches -- The Daily Market is... elevated. There are locally made artisinal versions of products on the shelves, alongside the more conventional. The produce is fresh. There's wagyu beef in the butcher section. There's still a great butcher's counter where you can talk to a butcher through the window and ask for exactly what you want. And there's a ridiculously extensive, chichi sandwich counter with lots more than sandwiches (https://www.thedailymarketct.com/online-ordering/the-daily-market/menu). AND a gelato counter! The chicken piccata we picked up recently was excellent and tasted as though it could've been sourced from Limoncello next door. Prices for conventional items are still a bit higher than the are at large grocery chains in neighboring New Milford and New Fairfield. But if you need something really special (Wagyu beef, duck fat, artisinal mustard) or just need a quick snack or meal after a day at Sherman Town Beach (or after a very long drive back from a ski race), The Daily Market is your place. read more

IT IS NOW CALLED THE DAILY MARKET and run by new people. Amazing prepared foods!! Great breads, sandwiches, and fresh produce. Worth checking it out on your travels near Sherman. It is my go to for prepared foods. There is always something delicious on the menu. read more

This is a fabulous local store, and it is great being local. The next town is 7 miles away. The deli makes great sandwiches, we always grab them before heading out on the lake. The possible only downside is that at lunchtime, because its so popular it can be busy at the deli counter and you will wait it a bit! Has all the basics you could need as well as great meats. read more

In full disclosure, I had a good friend who worked here once, and she loved it. This may color my view. The Sherman IGA is adorable though! There's plenty of parking with a little picnic table area right next to the store. The store itself is clearly a hometown one; there are pictures and all sorts of nostalgic pieces decorating the walls. There's a fireplace almost right when you walk in! They have baked deli food ready to take home, and a lot of local products like Arethusa milk and cheese. They sell pretty much any food you're going to need and save you from the haul to New Milford. Recently moved to Sherman and was looking to grab a few quick items without going all the way to the next town. This store was surprisingly packed with a lot of stuff and definitely covers any basic grocery shopping. I loved some of the local products they had, including egg nog! I was eyeing the cute sweatshirts inside as well. Definitely a good stop to pick up a few things when you don't want to do a large grocery haul. read more

We shop at the local IGA and wanted to share this here. Mike and Sean and the crew at the IGA ALWAYS make sure the customer is heard and helped. In this era it is rarely seen this mix of hometown care and professionalism. Sherman IGA staff are not only friendly, they care when you walk in and say "hi, may I help you?" It is beyond compare. This IGA has really grown up. It has a lot of sophisticated items like vegan products, local organic meats, and a darn good selection of imported cheeses. I remember when it was a simple grocery store. They put up plexi shields and staff is always always friendly. Good place to shop. read more

This store and its owner, Mr. Michael Luzi, are an incredible asset to life in Sherman. The store is ope 7 days a week and has extended hours and is really the hub of town. Mr. Luzi is generous to the school and townspeople, always ready to accommodate at functions and fundraisers. Mike has a very big heart. The store itself is gem to have in town. It is stocked with all the essentials and if you need something specific, they will get it for you. Sale items are super cheap and regularly priced items are fair for the most pair, especially when you factor in the time and convince factor of shopping here. I feel it is important to support our local store so I whole heartedly recommend shopping at the Sherman IGA on a regular basis for staples, great meats, deli sandwiches, local produce in the summer, garden flowers, and a good array of foods and essentials. read more
